How to capture the parameter in webdynpro application?

Hi ,
We have a requirement like this :
the scenario is :
user will get a mail to inbox(here mail is coming from SAP Workflow) saying that :"proposal is waiting for your approval".for details please click on the below link:
once user clicks on the link it has to open up the webdynpro application and has to display the details of the particular proposal no.
how to pass the proposal no to the webdynpro application URL and how to capture the proposalno in webdynpro java?

From the workflow when you create the link, also add the proposal number as an url parameter.
For example if the url for requesting WD application is <WD_URL>, then URL with parameter would be
<WD_URL>?PROPOSAL_NO=<actual_proposal_number>
In the webdynpro, you can access this parameter with the following piece of code(ideally in wdDoInit of component controller).
String proposalNo = WDProtocolAdapter.getProtocolAdapter().getRequestObject().getParameter("PROPOSAL_NO");

I would like to capture the Parameter value of Concurrent Program submitted through Submit Request screen based on that i want to return value.
When Conc prog "Payroll Run" along with parameter like "Pay Period" which has LOV attached to it, which has one coulumn named "End Date", this value selected needs to be captured. Can you please tell the Table name where the value is stored or Captured.
I want this value to be used in Fast Formula which will return the desired value to Input Value.
Actually in one of the Element I have Input Value as "Monthly Days" which should be populated with the "Number of days" in the period in which Payroll is being processed.

fnd_concurrent_requests.argument_text stores the argument values in comma separated form. But check the prior response from thierry first - fnd_concurrent _requests is not the place you want to be getting things from as it can be purged and so you source data is gone!

I resolved as follows(WebDynpro7.3) :
1.- Create a plug in the "Window" with the name "Exit" and parameter "closeWindow" the type Boolean, after edit it and put type Exit.
2.-Repeat the same but in the "Interface".
3.-Place the following code in the action:

IWDWindowInfo windowInfo=iwdWindowController.getWindowInfo();

How to Capture the parameter?

Hi All,
I am doing Level based reports which displays table in each level with link to url in specific column.
Ex: 1st level - say business unit as link to url. clicking on this will open a 2nd level explorer window which displays table related to that particular business unit.
In this level 2 page I should make some different column as my link to url column. For this I need to check whether it is a 2nd level or not.
How to capture this level number? Can anyone explain ?

Hi Subashini,
As you are using link to url and opening in new window. so you can create a new view.
means create a new view for each levels. on your
link to url just make sure that your application will open that view.
If you want to use just one view. then create diff tables for diff views. to distinguish between levels
and if your application have too many levels then try tree element. and open corrsponding report in same window alongside of tree or below the tree.

How to get the parameter from Java Script into the Parameter crystal Report

Hi All,
Crystal Report is integrated with Oracle 10g. I created the base SQL query for col1, col2, col3 and col4. Java Script pass parameter value (185) to Col1.
My question is how to create crystal report to make Col1 as parameter and how to get the parameter value 185(Col1) from Java Script. Is there any additional code I need to include in the crystal report?
FYI.
Java script sends the right parameter value.There is no issue in java script.
This is an automatic scheduled process when batch runs, Java script should pass the parameter value and the crystal report should get the value and produce the output report.

Not sure if this is an application question or if you are trying to hook into Crystal Reports parameter UI? If the later then no option other than report design. If an application then I can move this to the Java Forums.
If you are asking how to alter the parameters I suggest you remove the Java reference and post a new question so it's not confusing the issue.

A couple of years ago i would have recommended using the INDX table, but it has got it's demerits.
Maintenance of Z-table is easier than the INDX table. Say there is some error in the program & you want to override the flag. Will it be easier to do so in the INDX table or via SM30 for the Z-Table?
As a matter-of-fact i will recommend using the solution provided by Florian the TVARVC technique.
1. Create a parameter(specific to your program) & transport it.(See the trxn STVARV)
2. In your program check the value of this param & set it accordingly.
Using TVARVC you will 2 birds with one stone:
1. You don't have to create a custom table.
2. Easy maintenance via STVARV trxn.

when you create an item in GUI tcode CRMD_ORDER, badi CRM_ORDERADM_I_BADI will be triggered.
Method CRM_ORDERADM_I_PRODUCT_DETERM will have the Header and item guid and newly entered product in parameter IV_ORDERED_PRODUCT.

How to Hide the Parameter field at run time....

I have a parameter field which behaves differently depending on the User logged in.
It has the LOV coming from following SQL.
SELECT customer_name FROM Cust_mast;
If the user = 'INTERNAL' then the Where clause will be
WHERE cust_id in('DELL', 'SBC', 'BANK')
Else there will be no WHERE clause or the parameter field
should be hidden in the parameter form.
So my questions are:
1) How to hide the Parameter field during Run time?

2) How to change the LOV select statement during Run time?

Is there any way to play with the sql query SELECT using DECODE ?I'm not sure of this part, maybe someone else can suggest a way.
However, what you want can be done in 2 other ways:
1. Build 2 reports. Both reports will just be duplicates of each other, only difference being that the 'LoV where clause' will be different. Now you can fire the appropriate report in many ways. For example, if the customer is alreay logged inside your custom application, and therefore you already know whether the user is internal of external, you can design your button or link which launches the report to contain logic such that one of the 2 reports is fired depending on who the user is.
1. Use a JSP parameter form, not a paper parameter form In this case, just build an HTML parameter form in the web source of your report. Use Java logic to populate the LoV drop-down list. When you have to launch the final report, just launch the paper-layout of the report. For example (you will have to modify this):

For M$ SQL server I find that it only works when U use the fully qualified name...
e.g. catalod.dbo.my_procedure_name 'variable'
My full query in the Report Query window is something like this:

Note that you may find that selecting from VIEWS / TABLES fails for no apparent reason and iReport will prompt you with the usual very unhelpful (we have what we "pay" for) prompt, stating that "The document is empty".
To work around this issue, where a statement like "SELECT * FROM arc.dbo.acc_invoices WHERE Invoice_id=1000" does not work, simply create a PROC, something like:
CREATE PROC jasper_MyProc (@my_rec_id integer) AS
SELECT * FROM arc.dbo.acc_invoices WHERE Invoice_id= @my_rec_id integer
...to wrap your SELECT statement, then call the PROC

Requirement: Integration of SAP Appointment Calendar with Gmail Calendar
If I create an appointment in SSC1 transaction, it will appear in SAP Appointment calendar. The same thing should get updated in Gmail calendar of SAP user and also in the guest Gmail calendar if exists in appointment.
So, I have to capture the input values given in SSC1 transaction while creating an appointment in SAP and try to export those values to web services using some function module. Sending those values to web services completes my task.
Means, if I create an appointment in SAP, at the same time, the values which I gave must get exported to some object. So that I can send them to web services.
But my actual problem is with capturing the input values given to SSC1 transaction.
How can I get those values out to some internal table?
Another one is, I did not found any BADI to enhance SSC1 transaction so that I can include my code there.
If you know any enhancements in SSC1, please let me know.

It would be better to use a database table(s) to store your audit trail information than an xml file, which could grow beyond a manageable size and then require housekeeping efforts and file rolling, etc. It would also be much easier to query user related information out of the logs, pareto charts for failed vs. successful login attempts, etc. if the data was stored in a database.
Have you considered modifying the Relogin.jsp page link in the portal's sub-menu bar? How about making your own version of this web page and changing the link pointer? Keep in mind that whatever result you come up with here will need a significant update for NetWeaver UME compatibility in version 12.0.
