  • How to deal with images when detecting/resizing screen?

    Hi there,
    I am trying to learn how to detect screen resolution and
    resize a flash movie to those dimensions. The one thing I'm
    wondering first is, how to deal with images in the movie.
    Do I need a variety of different movie sizes that I serve up
    depending on the resolution, or is there some way of linking to
    higher rez image that can be scaled down to fit the screen?
    Thanks!

    as far as I know this has always been a bit of an issue when
    using
    images inside a scaled movie. If you display a high res image
    inside a
    scaled down movie, flash can't "reoptimize" it so the image
    looks
    jagged. Of course the other way around is even worse..
    Serving images based on the screen res could be possible if
    you detect
    it using javascript but could be a night mare to maintain and
    test it...
    I guess the questions I would ask myselkf are:
    1. what is my audience? What resolution the majority of them
    will have?
    2. Is there anyway I can keep the image size fixed, and scale
    to fit he
    rest of the design?
    3. How much time do I have to implement the customized
    version?
    It really depends on your project..but to answer to your
    quuestion yes
    you can detect.
    http://www.pageresource.com/jscript/jscreen.htm
    and your flash will have to interpret and load images from
    different
    directories based on the var passed

  • How to deal with images stored in oracle

    hi,
    can anyone help me to solve this issue please:
    in fact i am developping a swing based standalone application based on a TCP/IP client-server connection, so the point is to display on my frame for each student his information and also his personal picture
    first step : storing the personal picture into the oracle database from a specefic frame that allows to specify each NEW student's profile and his photo.
    step 2: as needed, a specefic frame allows to retrieve all the information related to a student and his photo to ( in a jlabel or other swing componenet)
    how to deal with this storing and then the retriving from the oracle DB
    any help please!

    If I understand well your problem, you need your client java application to store and retrive information from an oracle DB.
    This can be done via JDBC.
    Here's the tutorial:
    http://java.sun.com/developer/onlineTraining/Database/JDBC20Intro/JDBC20.html
    Look at
    http://java.sun.com/developer/onlineTraining/Database/JDBC20Intro/JDBC20.html#JDBC2018
    for storing and retriving binary data (like java serialized objects (Images for example))

  • How Mail work with image attachements and HTML image ?

    Hello,
    I'm writing an application that sends html emails with images to Mail.app. When Mail display the mail, everything is okay, images are correctly embedded in html code, using inline attachements.
    But there's still a problem : The images are also displayed at the bottom of the email, as file attachements. I know that Mail's template can hide these attachements, but I cannot reproduce it when sending my own emails.
    Is there anybody here that already get such problem and find the solution ? (apparently, Windows User get the same problem with Outlook, but they have an API under Windows...I'm using my own email API..)
    David

    David can you share how you managed to get the inline images to work. I've got the general idea of how to do it. But I do not seem to be able to change the Content-Type to multipart/mix. Can you point me in the right direction. Should the Content-Type definition and everything else be part of the body? Or should some headers (namely the multipart) be defined in the mailto URL format?
    In other words do you do: mailto:?subject=test&Content-Type=multipart/mix;%20boundary=myBoundary&body=--m yBoundary etc...
    Or id it: mailto:?subject=test&body=Content-Type=multipart/mix;%20boundary=myBoundary%20- -myBoundary etc..
    Neither seems to work for me so I am really stuck. But knowing what the right way is would help me figure things out a bit better.
    Thanks in advance

  • How to work with images in Keynote

    Hello,
    I'm a Keynote newbie and am having problems working with images. My basic question is, do I have to resize my .jpgs every time I put them in Keynote? It seems that if I choose to Insert>Choose a .jpg, it will fill my entire presentation and I have to resize. If I drag a .jpg, from iPhoto using the Media browser button, the .jpg will land squarely on the part of my canvas that's meant for the image (in the photo-with-title master slide). BUT, the image will just be masked and I once again need to resize it to fit the designated area.
    My second question is, if resizing is a fact of life in Keynote, are there any shortcuts which would allow me to resize quickly/automatically to the size of the image area on the canvas?

    I think Keynote inserts images in their native size, meaning that if you have a big jpg to begin with, it'll appear big on the slide. If you can't adjust the size of the images you have to begin with (for instance, you could easily adjust their size in a program like GIF Coverter--which would actually allow you to resize several at a time--before you begin to deal with Keynote at all) there is another solution to make it easier. Adjust the magnification of the slide to 50% so that when you insert the big images you can find the corners easily.
    I should add that I've only ever used Keynote 1. But Keynote arrives (inside a new iMac) as soon as tomorrow.

    Maybe it's because those files don't exist...at least they don't exist on the recipient's harddrive and I doubt he's setting those image locations to something that's accessible over the internet (or properly encoding them inside the message and encoding the image locations to point to those embedded images).

  • Instruction on how to work with images and videos in the storage azure using php

    Dear Sirs
    I followed below instruction to make video and image storage on Azure using PHP:
    http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/storage-php-how-to-use-blobs/
    Whenever I record an image on Azure storage and download stored image there is no format
    in the stored image. and end up becoming like any other regular file. Othe problem is that I cannot see the concerned image in the browser. I already have checked recipient access and it is defined as public reading.
    Could you also please provide me with an article instructing how to make upload,  download,
    show up on the browser and remove video and images from the azure storage area?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Pedro

    Hi Pedro,
    Thanks for your posting!
    I am not familiar with PHP. But from your description, I think your need pay attention to those points in your code:
    1.When you store file or download file, please write the file name and
    suffix, for example, you need store image as blob name "image.png".
    2.When you download file from Azure blob, you need set the content type.
    if your file is image, you could set the content type as image type.
    3.You could get the blob URI, and set your image URL as blob URI. Do this, you can show the picture.

  • How to scan with image runner 1023if and MacBook Pro

    It's been a nightmare using the Image Runner and my MacBoo Pro, any one knows how?

    Multifunction printer CANON Image Runner 1023if. I'm frustrated, I hate PC and I can scan in my MacBoock Pro, I'm getting very disappointed about scanning in a MacBook Pro, everything is a big deal trying to scan something even from a basic multifunction printer.  I really need help!!
    Thanks for asking.

    I'm using LR 3.6 on Windows 7. My image files are on a NAS. I cannot see my NAS in the Import screen, nor in the Add Network Volume dialog. Help?

    Actually, I think I figured it out by doing more searching. I
    found most of my solution here:

    Thanks.

  • How to populate a page with images in across/down direction?

    Hi,
    Does anyone know how to populate a page with images in across and down direction (for example 6 X 6 )? It seems that I cannot use data table because records are only running downward and each row can have one record.
    Any suggestion would be appreciated. thanks.

    Alex,
    You can create your own tabular form using APEX_ITEM API's
    Create report and you can put similar code to following
    SELECT APEX_ITEM.TEXT(1,col1) pk1, APEX_ITEM.TEXT(2,col2) pk2 FROM your_tableSo data will be displayed in TEXT boxes as if it's a tabular form. Now you need to handle INSERT/UPDATE/DELETE processes manually. You can easily handle INSERT and DELETE. But handling UPDATE can be a nightmare. What if user has updated both the column values?
    Updated details
    One way out would be to use ROWID as Primary key to handle DELETE and UPDATE
    SELECT APEX_ITEM.CHECKBOX(1,ROWID) tick, APEX_ITEM.TEXT(2,col1) pk1, APEX_ITEM.TEXT(3,col2) pk2 FROM your_tablebut yet I suggest to go for proper primary key..

  • How to use recursion with images

    Ok, for this program I'm trying to recursively repeat an image 3 times with varying widths and heights, and I don't know how to do that with images. With rectangles and other shape objects it's easy because all I had to do was override the draw method, but with images I'm not sure what to override to allow me to repeat the drawing of it with a different height and width. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Would I be able to work that in with recursion? Currently I have a JPanel with the paintComponent method being overridden, and I've tried setting up the paintComponent method to call itself to repaint the image, but I've realized everytime I resize the application's window paintComponent gets called again making the images go out of site. Is there a way to override the drawImage method to allow me to change the width and height of the image without causing the panel to repaint itself?

  • How to add round image inside the table column? with different background color, column value should appear in the middle of the round portion.

    Hi
    This question is related to table component implementation.
    I want to display the column values inside the small round image with different colors and value should appear in the middle.

    Hi,
    >>1. how can i align Title(DCS Clinical Report-Technician wise) center of pdf report with image named:logo5.png immediately coming to it's right?.
    2. how do i add the given below row and it's data to my top my table in pdf report from c# windows forms using itextsharp?
    3.how to make my column headers in bold?<<
    I’m sorry for the issue that you are hitting now.
    This itextsharp is third party control, for this issue, I recommended to consult the control provider directly, I think they can give more precise troubleshooting.

    Thanks for your understanding.

  • How to load a image after getting it with a file chooser?

    I'm still starting with JavaFX, and I simply would like to know how to load the image (e.g. png or jpg) that I selected using a FileChooser in the user interface. I can access the file normally within the code, but I'm still lost about how to load it appropriately. Every time I select a new image using the FileChooser, I should discard the previous one and consider the new one. My code is shown below:
    import javafx.stage.Stage;
    import javafx.scene.Scene;
    import javafx.scene.shape.Rectangle;
    import javafx.scene.paint.Color;
    import javafx.scene.layout.HBox;
    import javafx.scene.control.Button;
    import javax.swing.JFileChooser;
    import javafx.scene.image.ImageView;
    import javafx.scene.image.Image;
    var chooser: JFileChooser = new JFileChooser();
    var image;
    Stage {
        title: "Image"
        scene: Scene {
            width: 950
            height: 500
            content: [
                HBox {
                    layoutX: 670
                    layoutY: 18
                    spacing: 10
                    content: [
                        Button {
                            text: "Open"
                            action: function() {
                                if (JFileChooser.APPROVE_OPTION == chooser.showOpenDialog(null)) {
                                    var imageFile = chooser.getSelectedFile();
                                    println("{imageFile.getCanonicalFile()}");
                                    image = Image{
                                        width: 640
                                        url:imageFile.getAbsolutePath()
                // Image area
                Rectangle {
                    x: 10
                    y: 10
                    width: 640
                    height: 480
                    fill: Color.WHITE
                ImageView {
                    x: 10
                    y: 10
                    image: bind image
    }Thank you in advance for any suggestion to make it work. :)

    As its name implies, the url param expect... an URL, not a file path!
    So, use {color:#8000FF}url: imageFile.toURI().toURL(){color} instead.

  • How to open a pdf file and then attach it with images

    I am new to Indesign Server.
    I'm currently working on a pdf.
    I have a white blank pdf template.
    that I want to attach/glue it with images.
    How to open a pdf file and then attach it with images.
    Please, help me.
    Thanks.

    First step would be to make yourself familiar with InDesign desktop version.
    Whatever you intend to achieve, do it there manually. (see regular app docs or forums)
    Then try to automate your steps with scripting (see scripting docs or forum)
    If you can do it with a script in the desktop version, that script will likely also run in ID Server. (see server forum).
    If you can specify missing features not achievable thru scripting or manual use, reconsider to write a plugin (this forum).
    A seasoned C++ programmer will need a few months to learn the basics, wade thru tons of documentation etc. Alternatively consider to hire a consultant to do the development work for you.
