How to change SSO Partner Application Login_url and Logout_url

As part of a deployment in a different data centre, we needed to change the domain name of an application using SSO for authentication. We have gone through the process of re-registering the SSO server but this does not update the domain name
By using diagnostic tools from Oracle we have discovered that the file 'osso.conf' in $ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/conf/osso contains incorrect entries for login_url and logout_url.
These settings are of the form:
login_url=http://www.ourolddomain.com/pls/orasso/orasso.wwsso_app_admin.ls_login
logout_url=http://www.ourolddomain.com/pls/orasso/orasso.wwsso_app_admin.ls_logout
Please can anyone tell me how these settings can be changed.

In my case only the Login Server (PORTAL30_SSO) is going to be used/installed
- the SAMPLE_SSO_PAPP application will only work if the DAD used to access is it set to use Basic authentication, i.e. the actual integration with the Login Server
is done in the sample application code calls, stored in the database
- when a DAD has enableSSO=yes it automatically accesses Portal (PORTAL30) packages to implement N-Tier authentication
I'm currently testing:
1. Configuring the SAMPLE_SSO_PAPP sample as documented with a DAD with Basic authentication
2. Amending the ssoapp procedure to set context to another (db) user on successful authentication:
wwctx_api.set_context (
p_user_name => 'SCOTT',
p_password => 'TIGER' );
3. If this works then set_context with get_lw_user instead
I have now amended the ssoapp procedure as follows to print out
1. The userid entered when the login box is presented
2. The Database user which the Portal Lightweight user is mapped to

(ssoapp procedure, declare db_user_info and lw_user_info as VARCHAR2 in declare section)

The following shows the interesting results from my testing:
- if the user owning the sample_sso_papp package is PORTAL30_SSO then the call to wwctx_api.get_db_user succeeds
- if the user owning the sample_sso_papp package is a non-portal schema e.g. SSOAPP below the call to wwctx_api.get_db_user generates a User Defined exception
Steps to test:
Created new schema SSOAPP on the database
- edited it in Portal and checked the use this schema for Portal users checkbox
- created new Lightweight user SSO_LW in Portal, mapped it to SSOAPP schema
- created new Lightweight user SSO_SCOTT in Portal, mapped to SCOTT schema
- loadjava -user ssoapp/ssoapp@portal30 SSOHash.class
- sqlplus portal30/portal30@portal30
@provsyns ssoapp
- sqlplus ssoapp/ssoapp@portal30

Created DAD with basic authentication SAMPLE_SSO_PAPP

Registered the Sample SSO Partner Application with the Login Server and ran regapp.sql
Commented out the calls to get_db_user in papp.pkb to avoid exception
- called http://<server>/pls/sample_sso_papp
- logged on as SSO_LW/sso_lw
- got output:
Congratulations! It is working!
User Information: SSO_LW
LW User Information: PUBLIC
So the Portal lightweight user is not returned as SSO_LW
if anyone knows why the Lightweight User in my test is returned as PUBLIC not SSO_LW

Java SSO Partner application

Hello,
I configured and deployed a Java Partner Application as specified in the demo (ssosdk902.zip). I created an OC4J container and deployed all beans and jsp pages. When I try to access papp.jsp page, it presents me with sso login page but when i try to access other jsp pages under the same container like (index.jsp), it does not ask present with a sso login page. I want to protect all JSP pages under that container. Should I change home url for the SSO Partner application?

creating a partner application does not automatically secure the entire directory/application. it just sets a cookie for the Login Server and the Partner Application, indicating this user is authenticated.
if you want to secure the entire directory, you need to:
1. lock the directory down with MOD_OSSO in partnership with the Login Server
2. put the session checking code from papp.jsp into every page you want to secure, ensuring you have a valid and current user
3. create an application-specific security layer for the rest of your application that defers to the Oracle Security for user authentication.
what i'm currently doing is number 3. i have my ssoHome, that ensures i have a valid Login Server user. then i create an application session around the SSO user and use that to secure the rest of my site. if that session info ever times out, i delegate back to my ssoHome to see if they're still valid according to Oracle, and if they're not, they get sent back to the Login Server.
this model works very well for me, and is easy to manage.

Please refer doc and do the following steps.
1. Take a copy of the $IAS_ORACLE_HOME/Apache/Apache/bin/iasobf file
2. Change the ORACLE_HOME=to the correct IAS_ORACLE_HOME
3. Re-run the SSO registration by following the three step process

Open With... How to Change List of Applications?

I installed Photoshop CS2 recently and now a whole slew of applications show up when I click on a jpg file and select "Open With..." I know how to change the default application for the files, but how do I remove applications from this list? I don't need to ever choose between 40 applications to open jpeg files - just a few. How can I pare down this list?

Then why don't you remove them yourself? Go to this page and download PropertyListEditor.dmg. It normally is incuded with the free XCode package from Apple.
Install the app in your Utilities folder and then you can edit plist files whenever you want.
Open com.apple.launchservices.plist and unfold the object tree. Now you can browse and delete objects. It is recommended you backup the file before messing with it.
You can also "Dump" the entire file, it might be faster to see what all is in it.

In the dialog I have combo box in which I can select desire language for application. When I select value I save this value in the config file. But language change ONLY when I exit and again enter to the application. How can change language of application dynamic (without exit from application) ?

Did you try to call this method in response to the selection in the combobox?
This won't refresh all widgets already created however. You probably have to re-create them all.
There may be case-by-case way to refresh them, for example Locale-dependent layout may be taken into account dynamically. Try and tell us.

Hi,
Normally, to translate your entire application you would export the application using Shared Components=>Translation Services. There is documentation on how to do this:

You can also use Shared Components=>Manage Messages to translate individual items. If this is what you want, please let me know and I'll let you know what I did to achieve this.
Normally, the user would select their preferred language using a browser setting. Do you intend for them to select a language on a page?

SSO Partner Application not working

Hi,
I have OBIEE running on a different box. I need to enable SSO for OBIEE. I deployed the analytics.war file in the home oc4j container of Oracle Portal and manually registered it as a Partner Application, made following changes in mod_osso.conf inside ORACLE_PORTAL_HOME/Apache/Apache/conf and restarted the apache server. But when I access the application it does shows me the SSO login page but after entering the credentials it throws internal server error. I checked the log files but don't see any errors in there so wondering what could be wrong.
Here is what I have added in the mod_osso.conf

please check your $ORACLE_HOME/sso/log/ssoreg.err and $ORACLE_HOME/sso/log/ssoreg.log and see if you have errors in your sso-registration.

How to enable a partner application for Single Sign-On?

Can someone please advise me on how to enable my existing J2EE web application for the Oracle Single Sign-On?
My requirement is i want to provide the single sign-on authentication service to my J2EE web application. For this, I would like to make my application as a partner application similar like the OracleAS Portal.
I am using Oracle 10g ( OralceAS, Oracle Infra, OID ...)
I found the following service/APIs which Oracle provides. I am not sure which one is suitable for me.

3. SSO SDK
- Since it was deprecated and need java coding, i am prefer this option.
-- however, if i go with this option, i will develop code by using SDK. in this case i need to register the URL in SSO server through admin page.. am i right?
Note:- OSSO server integrated with Active Directory for the authentication.

I could run Flight-of Fancy Application and capture user's information by calling the
"Parse_cookie " Procedure.(use the Scenario 2 - Access the Portal and then the FOF App)
and defined an Oracle-Form application as Partner application like FOF.
I want to have Logged on user'Information in the "Oracle-Form" . But the Fucntion owa_cookie.get dosen't work correctly.please let me know what can I do ?

Thanks in advanced. If you're writing your own partner application, then you are correct to get the user information from the output variables
from the parse_url_cookie procedure. You should then set the information you want to keep track of in the cookie, or combination
of cookie and persistent storage in the database. Take care of the security implications while doing this.
On subsequent calls to your application, the user info should be obtained from the cookie and the database, if you
are using a combination of the cookie and database storage to keep your info.
The owa_cookie.get routine is used to read the cookie, which is generated with owa_cookie.send.
These routines work fine, when invoked correctly.
If you are having trouble with them, you're probably not using the calls properly.

HTMLDB -SSO- Partner application

Hi,
I have installed a database 10g/HTMLDB 1.5 and iAS 10g on two different boxes.
Refered & successfully completed the steps from

to Configure an HTML DB Application as a Partner Application in Oracle AS Single Sign-On
(TWICE From the Scratch)
But, Getting error like
"Error Error in portal_sso_redirect: missing application registration information:
p_partner_app_name:g_listener_token:HTML_DB:indl097ba.idc.oracle.com:7777
Please register this application as described in the installation guide."
Please let me know what would be wrong in doing this.
Feel free to ask for any further specific details or parameter values.
As its @ customer's site, need to know the resolution very urgently.

Hi,
you can do it first you need to goto smartforms tcode there click on radiobutton 'Style'.
Give any name and click on create. Right sideyou can find character format right click on it and create a node .A pop will raise gve a 2 characterlike z1 or a1 etc click on font tab gve size and font style and click on save and activate. Use this style in your smartform you can apply what ever styles created in styles you can use it in your smartform by that smartstyle name.
When we create text in output options give your smart style name and click on general attributes . Select your text and apply the style what thse size it should be and what the font style it should be.
Goto smartforms tcode and select formpainter in application bar set layout according to your requirement.

How to change value of instance variable and local variable at run time?

As we can change value at run time using debug mode of Eclipse. I want to do this by using a standalone prgram from where I can change the value of a variable at runtime.
Suppose I have a class, say employee like -

i want to change the value of instance variable "name" and local variable "salary" from a stand alone program?
My standalone program will not use employee class; i mean not creating any instance or extending it. This is being used by any other calss in project.
Can someone tell me how to change these value?

This is the tutorial You should interest in. According to 'name' field of the class, it's value can be change with reflection. I'm not sure if local variable ('salary') can be changed - rather not.
