We are using the SAP Standard Workflow WS14500015.
I found out the Standard task TS14508044 (SC approval per Item)which has one field in its container i.e. approve_or_reject ,based on the Initial value of this field , the radio button is behaving...
approve_or_reject EQ 0 i.e. Approve
approve_or_reject EQ 1 i.e. Reject
Now my requirement is to change the initial value of this field from 0 to 1 so that Reject radio button comes as checked by default into this standard SAP workflow task TS 14508044...
Kindly help me and let me know the procedure to change this.

Well Iam not much sure about how you are trying to approve the shopping cart workitem b ut last week i faced a similar issue while apporving the workitems I was able to update the contianer element Apporve_or_reject element by using the FM BBP_PDH_WFL_WI_APPROVE and BBP_PDH_WFL_WI_REJECT ... These two fm will take the responsibility of updating the element with respective value as, if you approve the it will be populated with 0 and if you reject the the element will be updated with 1....
Please check the thread where I updated the thread in [SRM Workflows|Problem while approving SC from Blackberry !;

• Keep the old value in the UI field if entity validation fails

Hi,
I have a requirement to retain the original value (old value), if the entity attribute validation fails when the filed value is changed. I have created one validation rule on the entity object and the validation rule is working as expected. But I would like to reset the value to the original value if the validation fails on the modified value.

Hello,
Please tell us your first name, and change your forum handle to something more friendly than User123. It’s nicer and easier for us this way.
It seems that the forum software messed up the example code you wanted to present. To avoid that you can use the forum tags
and
at the beginning and end of your code.
If I understand correctly, you are trying to retrieve the original field value from a fxx array, however these arrays are populated after page submit, so they don’t hold the initial values of the column.
I think the simplest solution will be to use an ‘onfocus’ event that will save the initial value – this.value – in a global JavaScript variable. In your ‘onchange’ code, instead of clearing the field if validation failed just assigns the original value for the JavaScript variable.

Arie.

• How to set the initial value of of a poplist dynamical

Hi,
I've got a poplist that is populated by a recordgroup. This is done by the following pre-form trigger:
DECLARE
         l_query_ok NUMBER;
         l_group_id RecordGroup;
         l_it_id     item;
         l_int_value VARCHAR2(2);
BEGIN
         l_it_id := Find_item('MERGED_ISSUER.product_code');
         l_group_id := FIND_GROUP('RG_PRODUCT_CODE');
         l_query_ok := POPULATE_GROUP(l_group_id);
         -- Populate list 'Product Code'
         CLEAR_LIST (l_it_id);
         POPULATE_LIST(l_it_id,l_group_id);
END;
I've tried to set the initial value by adding following lines to the trigger above but I receive the frm-41084 error. This code assigns the first value of the recordgroup to a hidden text item. In the properties of the poplist the value of the hidden text field is set as initial value.
-- Set initial value
l_int_value := Get_Group_Char_Cell('RG_PRODUCT_CODE', 1);
:MERGED_ISSUER.int_value := l_int_value;
Any help?
thx

Hello Ken,
you can set an initial value for a poplist with the copy command.
You could use a procedure like this:
PROCEDURE P_FILL_LBX
         lbx_ITEM_IN                 VARCHAR2,
         grp_DATA_GROUP_IN  VARCHAR2,
         flg_DEL_NULL              BOOLEAN,
         str_WERT_IN               VARCHAR2
) IS
      ERROR_ID NUMBER;
BEGIN
      CLEAR_LIST(lbx_ITEM_IN);
      ERROR_ID := populate_group(grp_DATA_GROUP_IN);
      populate_list(lbx_ITEM_IN,grp_DATA_GROUP_IN);
      IF flg_DEL_NULL = TRUE THEN
        DELETE_LIST_ELEMENT(lbx_ITEM_IN,GET_LIST_ELEMENT_COUNT(lbx_ITEM_IN));
      END IF;
      IF str_WERT_IN IS NOT NULL THEN
        COPY(str_WERT_IN,''||lbx_ITEM_IN||'');
      END IF;
END;Bernd

• How to update the table value in the valuechange event?

I have an input field in the datatable with the valueChangeListener
<rich:dataTable id="cart" value="#{cart.cartList}" var="item">
<h:inputText value="#{item.cost}" id="qty" valueChangeListener="#{items.updateCost}" onchange="submit()">
<h:outputText value="#{item.errorMsg}"> </h:outputText>
in the backing bean
         Item item = (Item) model.getRowData();
// do some update, if the cost too larger, change to max_cost
         item.setCost(max_cost);
         item.setErrorMsg("Error Msg");
After calling the valuechange method, the screen output doesn't update the cost.
How to update the table value in the valuechange event?

As you're misusing the valueChangeListener to set another input field, you need to skip the update model values phase. Otherwise the value set in the valueChangeListener will be overridden by the submitted value. You can do this by calling the FacesContext#renderResponse() inside the valueChangeListener method. This will shift the current phase immediately to the render response phase, hereby skipping the update model values and invoke application phases.

• What is the purpose of the Initial Value checkbox in SE11?

Hi,
When we create database tables using SE11, there is a Initial Value checkbox for the fields that we create. How do we make use of this checkbox?
For example, after checking the Initial Value checkbox, how do I go about entering the intial value? There isn't a input field for me to do it. Thanks.

"Initial values" Flag  ---> Indicator that NOT NULL is forced for this field
Select the flag if a field to be inserted in the database is to be filled with initial values. The initial value used depends on the data type of the field.
Please note that fields in the database for which the this flag is not set can also be filled with initial values.
When you create a table, all fields of the table can be defined as NOT NULL and filled with an initial value. The same applies when converting the table. Only when new fields are added or inserted, are these filled with initial values. An exception is key fields. These are always filled automatically with initial values.
Restrictions and notes:
The initial value cannot be set for fields of data types LCHR, LRAW, and RAW. If the field length is greater than 32, the initial flag cannot be set for fields of data type NUMC.
If a new field is inserted in the table and the initial flag is set, the complete table is scanned on activation and an UPDATE is made to the new field. This can be very time-consuming.
If the initial flag is set for an included structure, this means that the attributes from the structure are transferred. That is, exactly those fields which are marked as initial in the definition have this attribute in the table as well.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Balaji

• Setting null values vs Default or initial values in the Database?

i am working on a system and i have set any field that might optional as Allow Null,, but this is causing me a lot of troubles especially when i am querying the data or perfoming some calculations from the database. So is it valid if i changed all the Allow null field to have initial values an restricting null values to be inserted into them, so example, to set the initial values for an integer to be 0 and string to be empty?

Hi,
You can implement business logic on db side or on app side.
Advantage and disadvantage of implementation business logic on DB side.
Advantages:
1.Don't require app server software version changes/compilations (Java, C, C++, C#...)
2.Stored procedures are stored directly in the db.
3.DBA can manage and optimize the stored procedures in flexible way; it'll be transparent for app server because the same remaining interface.
4.Avoidance of network traffic - the stored procedures can run directly within DB engine.
5.Encapsulation of business logic as API in the database.
6.Reports can be implemented like PL/SQL functions that return table data type. The functions can be called from application side - sort of API.
Disadvantages:
1.DB vendor specific, but when dealing with the same databases (for example Oracle) it's not relevant.
2.Require DB skills to write the procedures correctly: it will require time for a pure java/c/c++/c# programmer to understand the DB code and to write it in optimal (from db point of view) way.
3.If it's too complex business logic - the db side implementation can become too complex.
To overcome issue with null(s) please use NVL function.
Example:
drop table  TEST_TABLE;
create table TEST_TABLE(parameter varchar2(20), val number(10, 2));
insert into TEST_TABLE values ('A', 23.245);
insert into TEST_TABLE values ('B', null);
insert into TEST_TABLE values ('C', 123);
insert into TEST_TABLE values ('D', null);
select avg(nvl(val, 0)) from TEST_TABLE;Hope this will help.

Hi Bhanu,
      I tried the calculation results as...Maximum,..
      But that will pick the maximum value among the avialable values..like
plant1 max 10
plant2 max 20
plant3 max 30
then it will show as..
plant1 max 30
plant2 max 30
...like this...but my case is
plant1 calday1 10
plant1 calday2 05
plan1  calday7 08
plant2 calday1 10
plant2 calday2 05
plan2  calday7 20

• Problem in getting the current value of the drop down while calling value change listener

I have 2 drop down list. I am trying to get the value of first drop down from other drop downs value change listener. Initially one drop down contains a default value. First time I got the value while calling the value change listener. But if I change the default value to other in the first drop down and call the value change listener of the second drop down then I got the old value in the bean. Can anyone suggest a process

If I use the following code it gives me the current index.
                valueChangeEvent.getComponent().processUpdates(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance());
                System.out.println(valueChangeEvent.getNewValue());
This is also giving me current index.
BindingContainer container = BindingContext.getCurrent().getCurrentBindingsEntry();
AttributeBinding attrIdBinding = (AttributeBinding)container.getControlBinding("PersonTypeId1");
if(attrIdBinding.getInputValue()!=null)
                   System.out.println(attrIdBinding.getInputValue().toString());
But at last I got some help from Shay Shmeltzer's Weblog.
BindingContainer bindings =
                    BindingContext.getCurrent().getCurrentBindingsEntry();
                    // Get the sepecific list binding
                    JUCtrlListBinding listBinding =
                    (JUCtrlListBinding)bindings.get("PersonTypeId1");
                    // Get the value which is currently selected
                    Object selectedValue = listBinding.getSelectedValue();
                      long value =0L;
                    if(selectedValue!=null){
                        System.out.println("Sudip.. Person Type using bindings"+selectedValue.toString());
But this returns "ViewRow [oracle.jbo.Key[300000860721156 ]]"
300000860721156 is the original value.. Would you please help me to figure it.

• How can I set the initial state of the PGCTR0 out pin?

Hi,
I have a 6115 board, and I am trying to generate a pulse train on PGCTR0 with an external clock. The external clock signal is connected to PFI1 and the PGCTR0 is gated through PFI0. The PGCTR is reset at the end of each run.
The problem is that the initial state of the PGCTR out pin changes from run to run, but I'd like it to stay high after reset. Any help is appreciated. THanks.
feng

Hi Feng,
The default output state of your counters should be high depending on your board. If you run a counter application, and the line ends in a low state it will stay low. One way to change the output state is to not only reset the counter but reset the board (see knowledge base linked below). The other way is to treat it like a digital line (see second link below). This is probably the best method. This method should allow you to read the value and change it using a couple software calls. Instead of disabling the counter, I would reset the counter since you just want to reset the state. This method is also a decent workaround because you are resetting the counter anyway. Hope that helps. Have a good day.
