Enable program to change width of cell in Excel 97 file using LabVIEW 5.1.

You must have an automation reference to the workbook or the worksheet. Using Application Control pallette find the Property and Invode nodes and wire up the following, cascading the output of each node into the reference of the next:
Start with worksheet reference
Invoke Range
Property Entirecolumn
Property Columnwidth
Change Columnwidth to write and wire in the numeric value in pixels.

How to Update a particular cell in Excel with its specific cell Name?

I have connected my Java program to Excel using JDBC ODBC connection and also I am able to read/write data to Excel currently.
In my write code, I have updated the data in particular Excel cells by using conditions in "where" clause.
Example:
String $mcode="hello";
double da1 = Double.parseDouble(txtda1.getText());
st.executeUpdate("insert into [Sheet4$] values (' " +$mcode+ " ')");
st.executeUpdate("Update [Sheet4$] set Lot1="+da1+" where Lot1='"+$mcode+"'");
But I would like to refer to the individual excel cells by their cell name instead of like the above said one.
In whatever I saw, third party tools were used to refer to the excels cells by their name. But I have to refer to in an ordinary way.
It would be great if somebody could help me in referring to Excel cells by their name.

I don't think it is possible to refer to cell in excel using jdbc, since jdbc is intended to communicate with mostly database in generic way. So you have to use queryStrings to update or retive cell info.
The only way to access them by cell name is possibly by using some third party tools.

No, that's not true. This is one of the 'benefits' of Lion (if you want to see it that way). The OS is on a separate partition and you can reinstall the OS without another physical drive.
What you do is reboot the computer while holding down the 'option' key. From the list of disks that show up (you can release the 'option' key now), choose 'Recovery HD'.

LabVIEW does not currently have a built-in method to communicate with
i2c, but there are other vendors that sell devices to communicate in
this manner with LabVIEW development kits. One that I know of is
from MCC... here is a link: http://www.mcc-us.com
They sell a device called iPort, and then you can buy LabVIEW VIs to go with it. I hope this is helpful to you!

help if you can,
i have a workbook
workbook has 10 sheets
each sheet has 1 table
when in excel you were able to select a sheet then hold control and select another, this would group the sheet as if to make them the same. change a single cell in one of the sheets and this changed cell would be also be changed in all grouped sheets. is there the same functionality in numbers?

How can I read a specif cell of an Excel file using Labview VI.

Hi,
Attached is a LV6.1 VI which will read a cell.
It will be looking for a sub VI found in the example C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW\examples\comm\ExcelExamples.llb.
The returned value is a string value but there is no reason why it couldn't be a number. Just connect a numeric to the type connector of the Variant to Data function.

I am trying to change the background color of a selected cell by clicking on that particular cell. DefaultTableCellRenderer class provides setBackground(Color c) to change the background color of unselected cells. Is there a way to change a selected cell background color?

Write your own renderer (eg. extending DefaultTableRenderer) and put in getTableCellRendererComponent method something like this:
if( isSelected && hasFocus )
setBackground( Color.RED );
setForeground( Color.GREEN );

I have problem with change width columns in web. I can change width column in paper layout and is ok but If I run web layout I get one column very wide and second thin. I cant find where I may this change
I find that is no easy. If you want change property in web layout you must edit JSP file, and you must know Java/JSP/HTML, and library reposrts JSP custom tag and reports xhtml tags.

How can I define a name in Excel using Powershell?

I know how to reference existing names using the RANGE function but how can I create a new defined name using Powershell?
My specific case involves defining a name for a single cell with a workbook scope. Just as if you were to right-click a cell in Excel and choose Define Name.
The closest I've gotten is the NAMES object for the workbook but when I "gm" that all I see is a method for delete - nothing for adding.
$xlsx = "c:\Sample.xlsx"
$excel = new-object -comobject Excel.Application
$xlb = $excel.Workbooks.Open($xlsx)
$xlb.names | gm

In Excel a Range has a name. You can create a range and name it. "Names" is just a list of the names that have been defined.
So what is it that you are asking? If your spreadsheet has names this will find them for you.
Try this:
$xlb.names|select name
$r=$xlb.sheets.item(1).UsedRange
$r.Name='all'
# now do this again
$xlb.names|select name
So now you know everything about "names" or, as us old pros say "named ranges" like in the old west.

MODIFY (indicator DEFAULT 'I');
Incidentally, INDICATOR is a keyword in Oracle, so you may have problems using it as a column name. If so, you'll have to enclose the column name in double-quotes, and be careful to use capital letters inside the quotes.

How to read the data in spectrum analyzer (Anritsu MS2661C) and put it in Excel using Labview

Hi all, I'm new to using the labview, and I have some trouble doing my project using the labview software.
I have been trying to use the spectrum analyzer (Anritsu MS2661C) which connect to computer using the GPIB connection.
I have got the instrument driver which can write and control the instrument using Labview 2010.
and my Question is how do read the data or result from the spectrum analyzer and send it to the microsoft excel?
Do I need to use other software or programming to do this step?
If anyone know how is this done, please let me know.

Hi ery,
In order to send data that you have read in from an instrument to Excel, the most convenient way to do this would be to use our Report Generation Toolkit. The Report Generation Toolkit is a very useful tool that allows you to interface to Microsoft Office software from LabVIEW, including Word and Excel. I am not sure if you are familiar with this, but I have attached a link that explains more about the Report Generation Toolkit below.
Another way would be to use the Write To Spreadsheet File VI. While this will store your data to a spreadsheet data file, it will not allow you to programmatically perform any Excel formatting like the Report Generation Toolkit offers. I have also attached a link to some information on the Write To Spreadsheet VI below.
Also, be sure to check out the Example Finder in LabVIEW for a number of examples on how to write data to a spreadsheet file. From LabVIEW, you can go to Help»Find Examples to launch the Example Finder. From there, you can search for "spreadsheet," which should populate examples for use in different applications.
