How to check if a certain field in mysql is gonna exceed its limit?

if let's say im going to insert some data into the db field & i might exceed that storage limit.
what r the ways i can do?

im having an alphanumeric field. im using longtext
it would keep increasing and i think one day it might filled up the size of the field.
hence i had i like to know how i can check if it's reaching...that limit.

I locked "Publish to Supplier" checkbox after MA is saved first time. Now, I want to check the status whether this field is locked or not in the same document.
IsLockOwner( ) is not returning the correct value. Its not giving the current document field lock status.
Is there any way to get current document field status?

If I understand correctly, your requirement is to get the value of this field "Publish to Supplier on". It can be achieved by writing the below:
isVendorVisible = doc.getExtensionField("VENDOR_VISIBLE").get();
Meaning, if the box is checked, it will return a value = true and if not then false.

Hi all,
I need to check two internal table fields are equal or not means which statement i can use.
Not internal table ,table contents i need to check i.e
it1-pernr = it2-pernr.
like this
if i put loop it'll check one table field for one loop.
if i put two loop means some fields reflecting 2 in it1 then it'll pring 4 times like that.i want to print whatever in internal table only .
pernr(0001) two times there in it1 means
it1-pernr = it2-pernr then
it's printing

like this but actually in it1 only two records.
Anybody know solution.tell me.

How to check for null value/field?

I have created a form that is designed to calculate the rows using the FormCalc function.
My problem is that if I have no value in the some of the rows, a 0 is automatically display as the calculated output field. If a row has no data, how can I get a null or blank field in the result (calculated field) field?
Let's say, I have 5 rows and each row should have a calculated value in one of the fields; when I fill out only two of the rows, the remaining three rows come out with 0s in the calculated output field. I need a blank output field for the remaining calculated values instead of 0s. I am a newbie so please excuse me if I am not explaining well.

I'm wondering that...
I have to make sure that whether a mail has been sent or not in my program. The smartforms of this mail has been binded with an activity in SPRO. What I have are: Title of the mail, sender name&address, recipient name&address and also the smartforms data.
It's easy to do that by checking the log in T-code: SOST, but how can I achieve that in program?
Are there anything standard Function Module or something work on this?
Or do I have to look up into the table SOST or SOOS?

I have found the t-code is SBWP very helpfull or else Go to the main sap easy access screen.there you will find a icon on application toolbar called business workplace.click on it.then go to the outbox.You can find the main sent by you in the outbox.You can use SCOT to know the status of the mail.

How to select records with certain fields unique while others not

For example, I have table with 6 columns, called 'A', 'B', 'C', 'D', 'E', 'F'. There's no unique constraint built-in, and I would like to select records that have both column 'A' and 'B' unique. What should the sql statement look like?
Columns 'C', 'D', 'E', 'F' can have same data in different records or null, not a concern.

I have two different Java applications that will be using the same instance of MySQL.
My requirement is that, I want to close the MySQL instance while closing the Java application.

Thanks for your response.
"Show processes" definitely serves my need.
Basically what I am trying to do is to check if there are any other open connections to a MySQL instance before closing it.
In our application suite, if there is a MySQL instance running, then the applications connect to it by default which results in some undesirable behavior sometimes.
Hence, we are making sure that we close the MySql instance before exiting the application.

Look to the right under "More Like This". Your issue has been discussed many many times. The error you are seeing is because you do not have enough free "contiguous" space on your hard drive. Read the other threads that address this issue to find how to solve the issue.
Or, put "The disk cannot be partitioned because some files cannot be moved" into the search box at the upper right of this page.

Is it possible to suppress certain fields in Outbound ALE IDOCs (for example INFREC IDOCs) ?
I am in need to send Info Records from one ECC system to another. The problem is, in the sending ECC system the INFREC IDOCs are created with the field E1EINAM-INFNR which carries the Info Record number. But the target ECC system might have a different Info Record already existing (for a different article) with the same Info Record Number. If the INFREC IDOCs are created without the INFNR field (i.e. if the field is blank) and then sent to the target system via ALE, it is successfully processed in the target system and a new Info Record is created with a different Info Record number. This is what is required. How can it be made possible?

Use the transactions BD62, BD79 and BD55 to setup and assign conversion rules for your IDOC fields and set a constant '/' for the infnr field.
Test if that is enough or you might need to take extra care for the name field of info record texts. I am not in a system currently, so I can't check whether long text name is based on info record number or only a mix of info record keyfields (without info record number itself).

You will probably hit the one or other issue that I described too.

for a transformation / generation of values receiving from R/3 into BW I try to
manupulate three fields. I have a problem detecting a string in a field.
I am using a CASE with several WHEN clauses on one field. Depending on the
value, an IF is integrated. There I look into another field evaluating, if it contains
a certain string. E.g. IF STRING CP 'xyz' OR 'abc'.
System gives error for the locigal expression. I also tried CS, but same error.
How can I detect a certain text within a field and which is the right logical
expression.

How to restrict AS02 (Asset Master Record) access to certain fields only. Currently when you assigned AS02 to a certain user, this will enable the user to change all the fields in the asset master record. Suppose i want only the user to restrict the access to certain field eg.NDJAR (Life in Yrs).

basis has to assign the proper activity with object A_S_ANLKL. in this case they have to allow activity 03 only with combination of Cocode,asset class. see some more details below.
This authorization object is the first part of the object "asset master record."
The definition at this level determines whether the user is authorized to process data in a given company code. The activity type for the transaction is also defined here. This authorization object is used for master data transactions, for the display of value fields, and for reporting.
Defined Fields
The following fields are assigned to the authorization object
Asset class (specified by entering a value in the pop-up window)
Company code (specified by entering a value in the pop-up window)
Activity type - there are three different activity types:
01 = Create
02 = Change (including blocking and deleting)
03 = Display
