How to check length of string attribute(from viewobject) on jspx ?

JDEV : 11.1.1.4
I am using carousel component inside that i am using Descrip attribute to show the content on carousel item,
Now i want to display a more link , whenever the length of Descrip is greater than 150 characters.
Currently from backing bean i am setting the chklength property based on length to true or false but the problem is i need to set a partial target
and because of that my carousel component i getting refreshed every time.. is there any way to check the length in jspx page itself inside the vissible property

The ROS version you are seeing in the RDF file does not mean the version where that RDF was developed. I am not aware of a way to check this but something that may help is that when you try to open a RDF developed in a higher version
of Reports with a lower version of Reports builder the following warning will be displayed
Warning. Opening a report saved with a newer version of Reports Builder.
Functionality may be lost. Continue?
"You tried to open a report with a version of Reports Builder older than the version used to
create the report. If the report uses functionality unavailable in the older version, that
functionality will be eliminated from the report.
Regarding Oracle Developer 6i. This version is not supported any more. Regarding how to upgrade Reports 6i to 11g and what to have in mind during the upgrade please review the following documentation.

I have setup multiple Approval Groups which uses a query to derive the approver list. Each Self Service HRMS transaction is attached to a different approver group.
My requirement is to write a function in Workflow to check if the approver returned from AME is the last approver of the group.
Please let me know how I can achieve this.

How to check which column data differs from master table and archive table

i have two tables, table a (a1 number,a2 varchar2,a3 varchar2) and table b (b1 number,b2 varchar2,b3 varchar2).
how to check the data in both the table are same( including all columns).
data in a.a1 is same as b.b1 and a.a2 is same as b.b2 like that.
if they not same , i need to know which field differs.

It is a little task to write out all column names, but 40 columns can be handled.

You can use STRLEN command for your requirement.
First read your input field using code wizard.
Then using STRLEN command you can find the length of the Input field.
For Example :
Here input is your input field.
data : length type i.
length = strlen(input).
If length < 9.
raise error msg.

Two JetDirects in one HP-5550dtn, how to check status of the card from the "other" network
I have CLJ5550 connected to two distinct LAN.
Card 1 is a J7934G installed in EIO1 slot connected to LAN1
Card 2 is a J3113A installed in EIO2 slot connected to LAN2
This setup seem to work, except I can not use the web interface on LAN2. (telnet is OK but network configured by DHCP so no porblem).
Is it possible to check the status of card2 from LAN1 some way? I would prefer an snmp tool or just OID for the second interface from there I can figure. Or any scriptable (linux) probe.
What I have tried is snmpwalk (on a linux host) from LAN1 I only seem to get info on the first card no mention of either EIO or other interface, although there is info provided about storage RAM disk etc. And by the way, this is the same with the web interface I can only tell that Card2 installed but nothing about it's configuration. Before you ask, no I can not do the monitoring from LAN2 I do not "own" that part.
Right now, I would be happy just to be able to know if the card2 connected and up... I am having problems related to LAN2 dropping off (smart switch disabling port) We are trying to determine why.
If anyone have any suggestions, I can provide more detials as needed.

It is very frustrating to have to implement workarounds in order to access text in an external file when using TestStand. TestStand already reads in text ini files, so it would probably take a TestStand software developer all of 1/2 day to write the code and 1/2 day to debug it. Here I will restate the obvious. Engineers have to deal with data, sometimes data generated from other applications. Sharing data in a text file is one of the most basic functions (and one of the easiest to implement). When I think of all the effort needed to support ActiveX, but NI did not see it fit to give TestStand users simple text file read/write functionality, it does not make sense to me. Maybe it was too simple or mundane a task so it did not get developed? Whatever the reason, I think users of TestStand deserve this basic functionality.
Even if TestStand cannot read the data directly into array variables, it should provide some mechanism to read the text from the file, either line by line or all file text into a string, so the data could then be parsed into the array variables I need.
I will pursue a CVI or LabView solution. Please also know that I am not directing these comments at you, I do appreciate your reply.

How To Display User Photo (jpegphoto attribute) From OID LDAP Entry

I've spent a few days looking for a solution to this problem with no luck.
I have a PLSQL database package that generates an organisation chart of users. It works fine but I am struggling to retrieve the users photo.
I have tried linking to the jpg files in my /oiddas/ui/oracle/ldap/das/Images/users/ folder but these files do not always exist so this is unreliable. These files only appear to be created if a user has previously viewed their profile in Self Service Console. Even if the files exist they are often out of date and don't reflect the photo held in OID.
I know the photo is stored in the jpegphoto attribute and I have been using DBMS_LDAP calls to retrieve other user details but I just can not find a definitive answer to how I send this image to the browser.
If anyone has any ideas, sample code or web links it would be appreciated.

MattThe idea would be to get the attribute value from OID using DBMS_LDAP or Java (whatever is easyer for you) and dump it in a file. Then generate the URL to the file.
When you initiate the LDAP connection to get the picture, remember to specify jpegphoto as a binary attribute.

How to find length of string after encryption using DBMS_CRYPTO package

I am planning do data encryption using DBMS_CRYPTO package. I want to find how much will be string length after encryption.
e.g When I try to encrypt string of length between 1-15 characters it gives me encrypted string of 32 characters. When I try with 16 charcters encrypted string is of 64 characters.
Is ther any formula to calculate length of encrypted string?

PravinThe length change is dependent upon the algorithm you are using which can be a combination of cipher block, padding, and chaining.
The best solution is determine the method you are going to use and apply it to the l ongest possible strings you are going to proces, then add some safety margin. There iis no penalty for defining your column as VARCHAR2(4000). -

You should read up on some encryption basics in order to understand the difference between signing and encrypting. Then you can find examples of how to encrypt something here: http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/docs/guide/security/jce/JCERefGuide.html.
Actually there is one class specifically for keeping keys secure, KeyStore http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/docs/api/java/security/KeyStore.html

How I do find the region which my phone was purchased? I bought mine through Dell Canada, and was told it was an Asian model. However, looking at the languages available, I get English, French and Spanish. This leads me to believe this isn't quite the Asian model I was expecting. I've purchased many Nokias in the Asian region and so just by the language selection alone, it seems questionable.
The reason I am asking, is because I am looking to update my firmware and I don't want to go download the update from Nokia's Asian website if it's a European model. I don't know if this will affect the phone, but I do not want to risk it.

I am working on a Zcopy of RLB_INVOICE smart form and need to check what fields are being output to the vendor_address window in the smartform.
I have examined the NACE setup and found "Medium -> printoutput", "Program -> ZRLB_INVOICE", "Form Routine -> "ENTRY_INS", "Form -> ZRLB_INVOICE", "PDF/SmartForm -> ZRLB_INVOICE".
Where would I find the code that shows the direct correlation between the driver program and a specific element of the smart form.
All I need to check is that all elements of the venfore address are being sent to the form as I am hearing reports that we are missing house number on the printed output.

First you find out your driver program. Here in your case it is ZRLB_INVOICE. Then within that check where address of the vendor is found and is assigned to which import parameter of the smartform.
Check your smartform also. Find which all fields are being printed in that. If vendor_address window is an address window, then there will be uniques identifier passed to that window from the driver program.
