  • How to check whether campaign has been uploaded to online server

    Hi,
    How to check whether campaign has been uploaded to online server by using SQL analyzer
    Thanks,
    Rasheed

    Hi Rasheed,
    To quickly check if the campaign has been uploaded from MSA to the server, you can check the TR_STATUS column on the SMOPCCAMPN table for your campaign, if the value is P000 or P*** then it has been uploaded to the server and is waiting for confirmation, if the status is O, it has been uploaded and created in the server.

  • How to check the SQL error message to address the application issue

    Dears,
    The application runs SQLs against Oracle via oracle client(actually the app is IBM Cognos which shows report and the data is from oracle database). So, for a report which fails to run, I want to check the sql and the error message for this failed sql statement. Where is the message stored, client or server and How to get it?
    I know there is a view v$log used to check the sqls ran in database but here I mean the failed sqls....
    Thanks,

    The application only presents the application error message.. And it is not helpful for me to get the root cause..The application uses the Oracle Call Interface to communicate with the database server. OCI calls return a result code to the client. The client is expected to call OCIErrorGet() to get the full error text.
    If the client does not do this, or obfuscate the server error, or suppress the server error? Crappy client. The lack of the client to play its role as client, correctly within the documented client-server architecture, is solely the client's problem. Not the server.
    For DB2, I could use db2diag to check the log. why oracle can not do this? any thoughts?Because Oracle is not stupid? Why on sweet mother earth waste server resources to track client application errors, on behalf of clients? How does this make ANY sense!?
    Oracle server's handles 1000's of SQL executions per second. Just where is it to find sufficient space to log application errors (not database system errors) at that rate? How do you justify that overhead? Using the argument that the application is poorly designed or written? Come on!

  • Help! how to check the SQL run in Oracle?

    Hi all,
    I have a problem. the developer said the SQL written in Java code are not the one executed in Oracle DB. that mean the query is some how manipulated by some PL/SQL so the final query run in Oracle is different. So can someone teach me how to check the actual SQL run in Oracle?
    Thanks a lot.
    Regards,
    Jason

    Hi Michel Thanks. But it looks like the query stored in v$sqlarea is not the final executable SQL. for example, the code in application is "select column_A from default_table where column_A = ?" and this ? will be given some value in run time. the query stored in v$sqlarea will be like "select column_A from default_table where column_A = :1"... what is this :1?
    Also if some PL/SQL procedure appends some condition to the SQL, is it possible to view the full query from database side?
    ok, let me try trace and tkprof first.

  • How to not run a gateway instance if the target server is down

    I have a DirectoryWatcher gateway instance that runs every 10
    min looking to do a series of actions when a file is added to a
    directory on another server. This other server is down periodically
    and my gateway instance fails. Then when the server comes back up,
    I have to restart the gateway because it has failed. How do I tell
    the gateway instance to not run if the server it is looking at is
    down or the directory in this case is unavailable?

    listeners have a timeout period.  if the target computer is going through a reboot cycle, the downtime should be short enough that you can setup a timeout.  Set one that is long enough so that you do not trigger a failure event, and the timepsan allows for the target server to come back online before the timeout expiration.
    Another way that is more robust is to create a seperate application, perhaps one built on Visual Studio or even a scripthost that does a simple ping of the destination server every 10 seconds or so.  When the server is not found, you can do a shutdown of your CF.    (you can shutdown any application from another application).   Once you can re-ping the server, relaunch your gateway listener.  If the listener cannot support what you want to do, just write another program that will perform your logic for you.

  • How to check for sql errors

    if an sql statement is coded
    how to check whether the sql has executed without errors
    exception is one thing
    is there any other way or means for this
    if so, can any one help in this regard

    For Checking the SQL error you can trap the error number and error message and log into any table by following way
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE FOR_ERROR_LOG as
    v_err_num NUMBER (20) := 0;
    v_err_msg VARCHAR2 (100) := NULL;
    BEGIN
    SQL statements like select, insert, update.
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN OTHERS THEN
    v_err_num := SQLCODE;
    v_err_msg := SUBSTR (SQLERRM, 1, 100);
    INSERT INTO error_table VALUES ('FOR_ERROR_LOG',NULL, v_err_num, v_err_msg, SYSDATE);

  • How to Keep the "Start OC4J instance" window or Forms Server always up 24*7

    Gurus -
    Can you please tell me how could I have the "Start OC4J instance" always up and running in my server. I want the Forms server ( 10g) up and running all the the time. please advice how could I do that. My DB is 11g and using the Oracle Devsuite 10g. Please advice
    Gurus - Can you please advice on this. Basically have developed a form and couple of users want to access that but get error " page cannot be displayed" and I figured out the "Start OC4J instance" windows gets closed automatically after some hours.
    so I wanted this OC4J instance to run 24*7 ( always) without closing by itself. Please advice how could I do that.
    Thanks
    Sheik

    Thanks a lot Steve,
    Just wanted to find out if there is no other work around on this except to have the Oracle App Forms server to install and up and running?
    I have 11g DB , so do I have to have 11g Oracle Apps Server or 10g Oracle apps server will be sufficient as the installed Devsuite is in 10g. Please advice
    OR
    Is there way we can setup this Oracle Apps forms server from the OEM console? or we have to do a seperate install for this Apps server.
    Other option I thought, which I am not sure will work out is the creat a scheduled task in windows and have this "Start OC4j Instance" scheduled to run always. Any ideas/commments on this.
    Thanks again for your inputs.

  • How can I correlate an Java instance number with a server id?

    I have 6 Web App Server running ABAP and the JAVA stacks. I can log into the Central Instance server and run /usr/sap/<SID>DVEBMSG00/j2ee/configtool/configtool.sh and bring up the GUI interface to "see" all the instances and their variables. I don't see an easy way to trace back the Java INSTANCE to the physical server's hostname.
    Is there a central repository to correlate a Web App Server Java instance number to the actual hostid/hostname of the target server? I realize I can log into each Web App Server and look at the /usr/sap/<SID>D00/j2ee/cluster/instance.properties and find the Instance number, but I was wondering if this information was held in the SAP Central instance or SAP Database somewhere.

    Hi Timothy,
    The instance ID used for the JAVA cluster is generated at installation time, and -amongst other things- takes into account the time it was generated. We installed two instances in parallel (on different hosts) and ended up with almost the same instance ID.
    Because this can be very confusing, we asked SAP if this was changable - in theory it is only an ID which could be changed as long as it is updated on all places the identifier is stored - but SAP indicated that that is not possible, nor supported. We ended up with a diagram of the system architecture with all the identifiers on our desk.
    Note that in the config tool - all instances are displayed with their system instance number. If you were to install a new system it might be usefull to install all instances with different instance numbers so you and distinguish more easily between them.
    Hope this helps,
    Cheers,
    Walter

  • How to check the sql:query is return null value

    I have use :
    <sql:query var="sql1" dataSource="${db}">
    select col_name from table_name
    where a=<c:out value="${row.test1}"/>
    and b='<c:out value="${row.test2}"/>'
    </sql:query>
    So, how can I check this statement return null value which is no record within this table?

    The Result should never be null but can be empty. You can check if the Result is empty using an if tag and checking the rowCount property:
        <sql:query var="books"
          sql="select * from PUBLIC.books where id = ?" >
          <sql:param value="${bookId}" />
        </sql:query>
         <c:if test="${books.rowCount > 0}">
         </c:if>http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/docs/tutorial/doc/JSTL7.html#wp84217
    Look for query Tag Result Interface

  • How to check the status of instance in my Process

    Hi,
    I have a requirement where I want to check for the status of an instance and if completes in error then send an email. I've been told that there are Bpel tables where I can check the status and there are also Bpel API's I can use.
    Can you please let me know what is the best way to do this and if so, some guidelines on how do I design this...I'm fairly new to BPEL and would really appreciate your help
    Thanks
    -Prapoorna

    Hi
    First let me explain how I understand your requirement.
    There is a bpel instance. This can either complete successfully or with error (basically some fault has occurred).
    If the process completes with error a email should be sent.
    Well this is how I would design this.
    Put the code that might succeed or fault in a scope. Add catch or catchAll block in the faultHandler of the scope.
    Write the email stuff in the faultHandler.
    Just in case you are still interested you can find the instance state Bpel table details in the below link.
    http://oraclebpelindepth.blogspot.com/2008/08/bpel-process-states.html
    If you are willing to explore the Java API stuff you can find some useful stuff in here.
    http://oraclebpelindepth.blogspot.com/search/label/Java%20API
    This will tell you how to setup context, include which jars and a simple java thing to see some thing working.
    Now regarding state, you can use locator.listInstances(WhereCondition wc) to get instances list in IInstanceHandle[].
    In the IInstanceHandle use the method getState() to get the state of the instance.

  • How to check for outstanding service instance creation requests

    Greetings,
    In preparation to upgrade my OEM Cloud Control from 12.1.0.1 to 12.1.0.3 I am reading the OEM Cloud Control Upgrade Guide. Step 2b in Chapter 3 (Getting Started) says to check for outstanding database service instance creation requests as follows: In Cloud Control from the Enterprise menu, select Infrastructure Cloud. I do not see an Infrastructure Cloud option under the Enterprise dropdown. I don't understand why not. If anyone can shed some light on this I would appreciate it.
    Thank you.
    Bill Wagman

    Step 2b applies to sites with DBaaS (database as a service) feature enabled. If you have not set up DBaaS, it is not necessary to check on database requests referred to in the step.

    That command seems to work for me.  Do you get an error when you run it?  What happens?  To answer your second question, the limit of the databases, the maximum supported size is about 16TB. Best practices are to keep the database to under
    a 2TB or even smaller depending on your backup and recovery objectives.
