How to choose Affinity group in portal.azure?

Hello.
How do I choose an affinity group for a new storage account in the the new "portal.azure.com"? It seems that I only can choose a location at the moment.
In manage.windowsazure.com it was available in the dropdownlist when creating a new storage account.

Resource groups enable you to manage all your resources in an application together. Resource groups are enabled by the new management functionality, Azure Resource Manager. Azure Resource Manager allows you to group multiple resources as a logical group
which serves as the lifecycle boundary for every resource contained within it. Typically a group will contain resources related to a specific application. [from above link]
We could understand "Resource group" is a logical group. It could contain our all resource in one application. And it is a Resource manager functionality. Also, if your resource is in others regions always could be add into
one resource group.
For "affinity group" , we could understand it as a "physically close group". It is in one region and physical closer.
But they are not opposite. Base on my experience, we also use the affinity group as resource group. For instance, you could create a null cloud service on the old portal . And then you could see the cloud service name as a resource name in
the new portal, and you could add some resource into it.

And now the new portal is in preview, some functionality is a work in progress.I am not sure the affinity groups whether the part of new Azue portal.

May i know how to create master group by using existing target group in segment builder PCUI in portal?
I manage to do it in sapgui:
tc: crmd_mktseg_mgr -> create new master group -> assign existing target group -> execute button -> master group is created.
I tried in portal: click on segment builder tab -> search existing profile set -> open existing profile set -> click on target group tab -> mark one of target groups -> click on Master group button -> save changes -> go back to sapgui crmd_mktseg_mgr -> search for all the master groups -> i dun see result that i did in portal.
Can guide me on this?

Go to "user administration"-> Identitiy management place "Groups" in the Search Criteria then you will see the options for creating NEw Group
at the time of Group creation there is a tab for Assigned users from there you can add users.
Or you select the user name and click on modify and select Assigned groups and assign your group.

HT1296 Contacts wi-fi syncing How to choose a group?

I don't want every address in my OSX Lion address book on my iPhone. I want to just choose one group . I understand how to sync with one group via iTunes but I am spoiled by Wi-Fi syncing. My iPad, iPhone and MacBook Pro sync flawlessly. I love it except that I havent found a way to not sync all 2,000 addresses. It seems unbelievable that Apple does not have this feature. Since they don't, does anyone know of a third-party app that will accomplish this? I've seen third-party address books but none that sync with iCloud or sync my OS X address book. I'm looking for any suggestions. Some of these apps are not cheap and I don't want to waste more money than I only have on apps. Thanks in advance.

You can't do it with the built in mail app. Mail does not provide that functionality.
You need a third party app like these two. Take a look.

Hereby a simple question but urgent, that is, how to create a group in portal which includes several roles. For exemple a group for manager contented the roles for managers and another group for employees. Thus it simplifies the role assignment for any user.

to create a group and assigining the roles to the group, you will need the userAdministrator role in the portal.
1.Go to userAdministrator role.
2.click on group workset and create a new Group
3.click on Role workset and search the role which you want to assign to the group.
4.edit the role and add your group to this role.
5.click on save button.

How to change datasource of a group in portal

Hello Evryone,
I am using EP7.0
When I am creating a new group under User Administration->Identity Management ->Create new Group,
a new group gets created, but the data source of this group is "UME Datasource".
I want to change the data source of this group. The available data sources when I search the groups are "R3_ROLE_DS", "UME Datasource", "Built-in Groups Adapter".
But there is no way that I can create a group with , say R3_ROLE_DS data source. On creation of a new group it just asks for a group name and group description. It always creates a group with a default data source "UME Datasource".
Can anyone help me on this.

I do not have much knowledge about UME so kindly bear with me.
The problem that I am facing is : when I search for groups in portal, then I am able to view/search groups that are of type R3_ROLE_DS( ie these groups have been created in backend) as well as groups with type :"UME DATABASE".
I just want to know, that if I want to create a group in portal with type R3_ROLE_DS, then is it possible or not?
Basically, the issue is that groups created in backend are vsible/can be used in portal, but can I create groups through portal that can be visible/used in backend?

How is SQL AlwaysOn AG supported in Azure without 3 fault domains?

For a Windows cluster to achieve quorum there needs to be 3 nodes. Hence, all tutorials guide you to create 3 VMs in the same availability set. (See image
here.)
However, Azure only makes a guarantee for the first two VMs in an availability set to end up in different fault domains. Any additional VMs might end up in the same fault domain as the first two. (See
here, and here
under Partitioning.)
How then can Microsoft support SQL AlwaysOn AG on Azure VMs without true quorum?
Here's what happened:
We host a very large multi-tenant software in Azure IaaS backed by a SQL cluster configured, according to best practices, as 3 VMs in one availability set. Yesterday the passive and witness nodes simultaneously crashed, the active node promptly shut down
the cluster since majority vote was lost. When the nodes were restarted (within minutes) they showed that they crashed, leaving me with the only assumption that they are on the same hardware and we indeed only get two fault domains.
This happened 3 times. In one day. With a few hours between each outage.
Support confirmed there was indeed an outage on the hardware hosting those VMs.
So back to the question above, without the proper hardware configuration, how can this even be supported for production?
We invested months of research and testing on different platforms till we chose our current configuration on Azure. However, it's impossible for us to continue hosting a production system on Azure with such a bug in its current clustering/HA support.

An alternative to the 3-node Windows cluster is to use 2 nodes with a file share witness, using the domain controller to host the file share. Depending on the version of Windows Server, your Availability Group is still dependent on Active Directory and
DNS and, hence, if the domain controller goes down, you still run the risk of not having an automatic failover (or with Windows Server 2012 and higher, longer failover time) even in a 3-node cluster. Windows Server 2012 R2 introduces dynamic witness such that
even if you only have 1 node in the cluster, your cluster resources can stay online as the quorum is dynamically adjusted depending on the number of available votes. But to really provide real HA/DR in Azure, you need to span your Windows cluster in different

Access OID Groups in Portal

I've setup item access privileges on a page. I have created a new OID group and attempted to give this group access to this item. I can choose the group, but when it's added, it does not show the group name, rather a number, i.e., (D8F909F2393035B7E0340003BA2183E9).
What can I do to make the group name show up?

To access Peoplesoft applications from Portal you have two options :
1) By using Appintegrator iView : As all the applications in peoplesoft has their own urls like for attendance regularization, leave applicaion etc., you create appintegrator iview which points to ur peoplesoft application and by doing user-mapping, users can access these applications. 2) By developing application in VC: You can easily create nice looking applications in VC & host them on portal. VC can pull data from peoplesoft in 3 ways :
      - By using WebService : Expose peoplesoft applications as web services and u can easily create model in VC. (Recommended)
      - Directly accessing database using JDBC drivers : Though this approach is not recommended, u can directly connect to peoplesoft database tables and fetch the desired data.
      - iWay JDBC drivers : These are 3rd party drivers available to connect to peoplesoft database.

If so, you can simply right click on the ROOTUILELEMENTCONTAINER node of the UI elements tree in the top right hand corner of the Layout Tab, and choose Insert Element. From the dialog, give the name and then choose Group from the listbox. That's it.

Try using t.code SHD0, choose your transaction variant here, further choose your screen variant.
Next select your screen variant and in the Menu bar select Variant> change with processing>Make repairs in foreign namespaces only if they are urgent> Continue(Enter)>again 'enter'>Object can only be created in SAP package>continue(enter)> Exit and save >This variant contains other screens, adopt these as well?>enter>enter> scroll down to the entry required by you make the necessary changes(Output only, invisible or required) and save.
The system will prompt to assign a package and request enter the necessary values.

Hello Vijay,
If you are at all interested in a 3rd party application to make your life a bit easier getting stats on your users, you could check out Click Stream by Sweetlets.
Click Stream uses the Usermanagement (UME) API to get more information about the user, groups, roles, LDAP attributes etc. and offers you the ability to filter this information in nearly any report at the click of a button.
Click Stream also uses the PCD API to get information about the pages your users are visiting too.
In the very near future Click Stream will also have iView recording to monitor iViews, telling which iViews have been clicked, etc.

How to Create HTML page from portal

Hi
I have a requirement to create html pages from portal.
There will be an author who can choose document type as HTML
and then he will write html codes on saving it should be saved as HTML doc in UCM.
and publisher should be able to display it on portal(may be using content presenter).
please help me in this. I know there is rich text editor task flow which can save a doc as doc file.
and in spaces we have option of creating HTLM file but i don't know how to do it for my portal.

A better way would be to create the page using approach in this blog:
https://blogs.oracle.com/ATEAM_WEBCENTER/entry/content_presenter_cmis_complete
That way the page can be edited inline and the html author need not upload html to ucm everytime.
