How to click a button that is within another vi

Hi All
I am stuck with a problem
I have two vi's. A MainVI and a SubVI. The SubVi is located within the MainVI. The Sub VI is like a continuous loop and can be stopped only by pressing a STOP button on the SUBVI front panel.
I need to control this STOP button from the front panel of the MainVI. But the problem is that, until the SubVI executes completely, no changes made on the MainVi will be read.
The following methods have failed
Tried to pull the STOP button from the SubVI as a terminal.
Using global variables.
Is there anything like reference variables that can achieve this task.
Any help will be much appreciated.

Creating separate swf's these days as far as I know is
considered to be a better practice than using the "scenes" that are
in Flash. The reason is you can load various sections of your
entire Flash entity rather than the user downloading everything at
once.
But, it also depends on the complexity of where your menu
items are leading. If they are simple enough, then there may be no
need to create new documents.
To create a button that links to a jpeg, try this.
Whatever graphic you're using for the button, select it and
hit F8 to convert it to a movie clip. Once it's in your library,
click on your new movie clip on the stage and give it an instance
name in the properties window.
Click the first frame in your timeline (preferably on a layer
named "actions") and put this example in for the actionscript:

How do I set focus to a text field after I click a button that calls a webservice?

I have a web service that returns back a table. In order to show the values in the table I had to check the re-merge Form Data on the Webservice Button. My question is , How do I set focus to a field on the screen after re-merge happens.

I was reading SetFocus documentation and it says
You cannot use setFocus with the form:ready, layout:ready, or initialize events.
What I need is an event like doc:ready or someother event where I can put the set focus code in. doc:ready was triggered when the form first loads which is great and I was able to put my Initial setfocus. When I pressed the button that calls the webservice and thr re-merge happened doc:ready event was not triggered so now I am not sure where to put the set focus.

Hi , I'm want to create a button that when clicked copys all the data from the feilds of a subform off the previous page and paste it into current page.
I have used Steve's "Simple table.pdf example" to add a subform called DecorationDetail that has a button that adds an instance when clicked.
Contained in the decorationdetail subform are feilds named Quantity, Description,UnitPrice etc. and a delete instance button.
So when the first page is filled out, and a second page with blank duplicate feilds is added by a add page button. I want to be able to click a button
positioned at the end of the row of feilds, and it then copies the same subform data from the previous coresponding page and pastes it into the current page subform feilds.
Hope this make sense?. A step by step guide would be greatly appreciated!!!.

How to create text buttons that link to video?

I've finally gotten around to trying DVD SP, and even though I read the whole manual, it's not at all clear if, or how, you can create text buttons that link to the video you want to play, without displaying a clip of that video in the button itself.
I have no problem creating a text button, but I can't change the font, and editing is counter-intuitive, unlike iDVD. I'd use iDVD, but it doesn't accept .m2v files, and it seems to think that my 6 videos of about 43 minutes each are too large for a DVD+DL disc, so it won't let me burn it or save it as a disc image.
Does anyone have a way out of this conundrum, or am I SOL?

It really isn't that hard!
As Drew said, go into your menu and click and drag to create a button rectangle. With the button highlighted, look in the property inspector at the bottom and type in the text that you want to use. Ensure that you 'include in button highlight' and then set the colour choice for selected and activated.
What you get is a simple line of text which illuminates when you roll over it, and changes colour when you click on it.
Once that is done, click on the button area again and set the target to go to the piece of video that you want to have play back.
You should also set the menu call and end jump on that track to make sure your viewer can get back to the menu.
Once that is done the menu will show as a simple piece of text (more buttons means more bits of text, and the first button will be highlighted by default) and no video will play until the button is activated.
DVDSP is definitely a steeper learning curve than iDVD but for very good reasons. You get far greater control and access to far more advanced features in DVDSP. This means that some things will seem harder, whereas in fact they are just different and the process for achieving the result you want is different. Much of what you want to know is in the manual and also in the tutorials which came with the app. Failing that there are several good online spaces where you can find a lot more information... not least of which is right here, of course!

How do I produce buttons that appear at the end of a motion background? Please Help!!!

I just began working with my new production premuim CS3 suite and the current project that I am working on calls for buttons that appear right the end of the motion background. I have tryed everywhich way I can think of to import and export buttons that I thought I created in after effects. The video background works but when it get to the last frame of the video the buttons do not work. Please someone who has a bit more experience working with encore and after effects help.

You can create a custom pop up window. Just create a view that contains all
elements that you want to display. Add the button that closes the view. Create a
new window that only contains this new view. Use the mentioned method to create
a new window as pop up. You just have to pass the name of the window you have
created. Store the reference to the new window in the component controller
(mr_window).
From the new window->view you have access to the component controller.
In the action handler of the button you can use something like this:
wd_comop_controler->mr_window->close( ).

Just a bit more info. E-mail can be used, but has potential problems -- often related to the client machine that you have no control over. Use the data submissions (either FDF or XML) rather than the full PDF so you do not have to deal with Reader Rights and the related license issues. The FDF and XML data files are easily imported into the original form so that you see what the client sees. With those aspects in mind, just go ahead and try one. Be aware that you can add form fields using the form tools in the Advanced Editing tools, OR use the forms menu that will take you to Designer. You might want to try both to see the pros and cons. Be sure to keep such a test simple so you are not wasting time on your final form just for testing. I typically create a 1 page form that has all of the possible fields for such a test.

Interactive audio button as mso within another mso (slideshow)

I have a tricky question and after researching in the forum I have not come across a solution yet. I have a picture slideshow playing automatically and on these pictures are a text box and a button to tap onto the next page. I set this up as a multi-state-object whereas every picture of the slideshow is a separate status. See here:
That works perfectly fine. However, I want to autoplay an audio file in the background but want to allow the user to manually pause it. This is why I created another multi-state-object including the audio file and 2 buttons (a grey crossed-out button to pause it and a red-orange button to continue playing). Please see this screenshot:
In another post in this forum I found out how to combine those 2 MSOs together: I anchored the audio button MSO in a small text frame and included that into my main MSO with the picture slideshow (into every single status!). Then I added all the functions to the buttons again (switch to status 2 red audio button, pause audio playing etc.). My problem is now that the second status of the audio button MSO (= red audio button) does never show up at all and the audio file starts playing from the start everytime the status in the pic slideshow MSO automatically changes.
Can somebody please help me or tell me if there is an alternative to that? Basically, I have an MSO running automatically and I want to automatically play an audio file but allow the user to manually pause and continue it by tapping on a button.

many thanks for your feedback. However, that does not solve the problem as beautifully as I wanted. As you see in the screenshot below, I have now 2 buttons (1 for pause and 1 for play/continue playing). When I click on pause, it pauses. But when I click on play, the audio file starts playing from the start again. I set the button function to continue playing but that won't display then for whatever reason.
I would like to have 1 button that changes its appearance (pause / play - this is why I initially had a MSO) as well as pauses or continues playing the audio where it last was paused. Is that possible?

How about in BO, if we want to take value (ex. 93.75) from the other table and use or refer the value that we want to to another table (just use the value from another table)
Just for information, we want to use the number (93.75) in another function. (if <93.75, then........) and the value (93.75) is a result from another function or calculation.
Q2 : How to SUM from one table and show the result to another table.(We want to use the result of SUM for another calculation in different table.)

In answer to your question about using a cell from report (block) as a value to be manipulated within another block, will be tricky unless you can employ the "Merge Dimensions" technique. Working in the blind and trying to visualize what you are trying to do is very difficult, so to speak in general terms, you will have to determine a best way to merge dimensions, then build specific local variables to "flag" and extract succinct values from one data provider, and then use that local variable in applying it to the other block. This will take some experimentation and testing before you can feel confident and get the hang of it.
On the other hand, if you know what the threshold value is that you want to apply (like for instance 91.75), then you can either "hardcode" that in your formula(s), or build a prompt in your report that captures this tidbit from the user when the report runs, and using the UserResponse function you should be able to calculate what it is you want to do.
Good luck and post more details (specific tables, columns, and manipulations) and perhaps some one can post a suggestion on how to best execute your report.

How can I add buttons that do different things to each row of an rpt result

I'm trying to figure out how to add buttons to each row of a report. Here is the scenario:
report query returns a set of data that needs to be "approved". The options are "Append", "Replace", or "Reject" (I want to make the results look like so:)
Person1 today blah, blah blah... Append button Replace button Reject button
Person2 today blah, blah, blah... Append button Replace button Reject button
PersonA today something, blah... Append button Replace button Reject button
and so on.
I'd like to set up the page so that there is an append, replace, reject button for each row returned by the report. So when the "Approver" clicks on the append button, something happens for that row, etc. How does one do this? So far I can only get the buttons to show up in the region. I also thought it might be possible to somehow turn the append, replace, reject text into links that called a plsql proceedure that would handle the action, but I'm not having any success with that idea either.

What I've done is make my report query as follows:
select field_a, field_b, field_c, 'Append', 'Replace', 'Reject'
from table_x
where field y = :PX_ID
That gives me the words (append, replace, reject) in the report. Then I go to the report attributes section and make a link out of the columns (append, replace, reject) so far, so good.
Next question is how to make clicking on those links activate an update action on tableN. In the column_link section there is a box marked "Request" that looks like it might be relevant because Request is a term connected to buttons, but I've no idea how to use it. Or, can one use the tabluar form element section of the report attributes page to connect the Append (pseudo column) to an action? I've looked at your example (Sam) with the delete button, but what I really need to see is the Apex menu that sets it up because there are so many levels in the interface it is not intuitive (at least for me). I know exactly what I want it to look like but I'm missing the crucial step to get there... Thanks for your help so far.

How to click several buttons at once on Popup Message

I have been creating 5boutons on Popup Message [ "Can1", "Can2" .....] and that we can click once to execute the programm eg Can1Sequence or Can2Sequence.
I 'like to know if it is possible to click on two buttons at a time that is to say can click the same button twice or clicking two different buttons and can execute both programs in parallel.

How do I get buttons that function and move as they did in firefox 2?

In firefox 2 the back button was separate from the forward button. This was ideal for me because I could move them around. I always had "stop" in the middle which was useful for sites that redirect you numerous times and returning to the content I was at before. I almost never use the forward button. Is there a way to pull the buttons from Firefox 2 and put them into current versions? This merged button is like button 3 after they took away buttons 1 and 2. I want 1 and 2 back. Even if it means writing separate add ons (which I'm not currently able to do on my own). Most of the current add ons which "separate" them do not let you actually move them apart. Customizing my panel myself optimizes my work speed.
