How to combine a few PDF files into one with Adobe reader?

how to combine a few PDF files into one with Adobe reader?

Hi aho,
You would need either Acrobat (link to free 30 day trial) or our PDF Pack subscription service to perform that task.
What can I do with Reader?
Let me know if you have further questions!

  • Merge two PDF files into one with Adobe Reader

Does anyone know how to merge two PDF files into one with Adobe Reader. Is it even possible?
    Thanks

If you've got a Mac and OSX you can do this in Preview.  Make sure you can see the sidebar with the first PDF opened, and then drag the second PDF to the bottom of the last page in the sidebar.  Also you can reduce the size of your saved file by selecting (or making) a Quartz filter to 'reduce file size'
    Cheers

I use PrimoPDF (free download) to create pdf files. To merge two docs/pdfs/etc., print the first to a new pdf using Primo. Close it, then print the second and save it to the same new pdf. Primo gives you the option to 'append' or 'overwrite' the original file. By using 'append', you are just adding it to the back of the existing file. You can do this repeatedly to resort or combine existing pages into a new pdf.
Also, I'm using Adobe Reader X.

Open up the first pdf in Preview
    Then from Menu
    select from Edit Menu
    Select Insert (your choice of)
              Page from Scanner
Page from File (select your PDF file)
              Blank Page
You can then save as your first file or rename it

I note from your system details that you have the plugin for adobe pdf s so I would have expected the files should open in firefox '''without''' you needing to explicitly download them.
Once the files are open in firefox, you will also get the option to save them permanently to a location on your computer. If you wish I suppose you could set the file type pdf to be associated with and be opened by firefox instead of with the Adobe Acrobat Reader, but that would just seem to be an additional complexity.

  • When pdf file is opened with Adobe reader, it shows extra whitespace after "w"

I am unable to attach the pdf file here. But my pdf file is having a hyperlink "http://www.google.co.in/". When i open it with Adobe reader, its shown as "http://w w w .google.co.in/", if the same pdf file is opened in some other pdf reader, the link is properly shown and i can click over it to browse. This is a bug in Adobe Reader.
Please revert back mentioning where should i attach the pdf file.

I have created the pdf files using txTextControl.ServerTextControl
The additional space after the "w" is a result of charaster spacing, there is no whitespace in pdf file after "w"
If i open the same pdf in some other pdf reader like Sumatra pdf reader, it gets opened without any white space after "w".
However, there is no space after the "w" in the PDF document, its the adobe  reader issue.

  • Pdf file opens only with Adobe Reader

I have a pdf file that I received that I can only view with Adobe reader. Every Mac application including Preview and every other one that should handle pdf shows a page that looks like a web page and says "Please wait" and some other stuff about if you are not redirected to your page you may not be able to open this type of file. Adobe reader (latest version) can open the file just fine.
Is there some reason why the Apple programs cannot open this file? Has Adobe done something to this file to lock out Apple software? Is there some incompatibility with the latest Adobe file version for pdfs?

  • How to combine multiple purchased aac files into one aac file

I recently purchased in iTunes an album consisting of 16 m4a files.  I ended up creating a playlist in iTunes for the songs.  I would like to create one m4a file which combines all and then play it in iTunes.  Is the copy protection preventing me from doing so?
I know how to convert m4a files that I have converted to mp3 and combine them using Terminal with a cat command.  Then I import that combined file into iTunes.  All is well in this case.  I tried this with the 16 m4a files and I could not import the resultant mp3 file into iTunes.
Any way to combine multiple purchased aac files?

A simple way to accomplish the job, though not recommended is to print the 2 page file to a new PDF with multi-up (assuming you select vertical rather than horizontal locations) and adjust the paper in the Adobe PDF printer to be 8.5X22. At least you might give it a shot. Some variation, along with rotation possibly, might work.

  • How to combine two pages (not files) into one long vertical page

Is there a way in Acrobat 9 Pro to combine (concatenate) say two 8.5"x11" pages and create a single 8.5"x22" page?
Right now I'm having to do this by importing one page into Photoshop, extending the canvas, and pasting in the second page into the extended canvas space.  Very kludgy. While this works, saving the resulting PDF (even after removing the option to preserve editability in Photoshop) still results in a file which is a whopping 2.5MB in size as compared with around 25KB for the original PDF file which was spanning 2 pages.
Ultimately what I'm trying to do is to be able to view a long document which was created in MS Word 2007 and then saved as a PDF, in a web browser by scrolling, without having page breaks.  Trying to increase the page dimensions is MS Word 2007 prior to creating the PDF worked to a point but Word 2007's maximum page length is 22 inches and as luck would have it, the document requires about 23 inches in length.
I've tried using the custom page setting under the crop tool in Acrobat 9 but I can't seem to get the modified page dimensions to be accepted.  Acrobat 9 seems to accept the input and then nothing changes with the page's dimensions.

A simple way to accomplish the job, though not recommended is to print the 2 page file to a new PDF with multi-up (assuming you select vertical rather than horizontal locations) and adjust the paper in the Adobe PDF printer to be 8.5X22. Hi aspenavenue,
I've checked your account, and there are no issues there. What happens when you try to combine files? Do you get an error message? I would love to help, if possible.

  • Why do some pdf files not open with Adobe Reader X, most open OK?

On my wife's 64 bit WIN 7 computer, a some pdf files will not open, but most open OK.
She uses Acrobat Reader X and MS Office 2010.
The same problem files open with no problem on my very similar computer.
Is the problem with some setting on the Acrobat Reader or something else?
Sometimes there is this error message when the problem files do not open:
Find Click2run64.msi file to install MS Office Click to Run.
But MS Office Click to Run is already installed on her PC.  It is not on my PC.
    Thanks for your help.

The latest Reader is 11.0.01, not 11.0.1.  It is named Adobe Reader XI.
I did uninstall the Reader X and installed this latest one.
But it did not solve the problem, still could not open the problem pdf's .
I did find the problem was caused by the MS Office Click to Run error referred to in my original message.  As far as I know we have no use for that on my wife's computer. Not sure how it got there.   I uninstalled it and so far the problem pdf's open fine now.  Problem solved.
    Thanks for your help.

Reader doesn't have that ability. You would need Acrobat.
