Sql Loader by using shell script, not able to insert data

Hi,
I am trying to dump the data by using shell script.(in shell script i am having sqlldr command)(its a host excutable method cocurrent program)
When i am loading the data, by placing my files(.ctl,.prog,.csv,symbolink file for .prog) in $Custom_top/bin, it is loading exactly. 17000 records inserted.
But if i am loading the data by placing my files in $custom_top/custom_folders. unable to insert total data. only 43 records inserting.
Please any one can help me.

How to Email Concurrent Program Output to Email using Shell Script

I have a tricky requirement and i was not able to achieve, let me explain my requirement
I have created a PLSQL Concurrent Program named "Approval Update". This will do update and it display the number of rows updated.
Now i need to take this concurrent program output and it needs to be send it to the person who submits this program as an email using shell scripts.
I have referred meta link note as well as some OTN posts but I was not able to achieve this.
Please help me to complete this As soon as possible, Thanks in advance for your help.

I can run a procedure in Jdeveloper 9.0.3, but How can run a procedure of a package not using SQL*PLUS

You can run a procedure or function in a package the same way you run a top level procedure or package. Select the package containing the procedure in the navigator and select 'Run' from the context menu. In the Run PL/SQL dialog, select the procedure/function you wish to run from the list in the top left-hand side.

i have written a stored procedure. i need to call this stored procedure from a unix shell script ( korn shell).
can anyone please help me how can i do it.actually there are 3 stored procedures. so my shell script has to call each stored procedure, execute it then go to next stored procedure execute it.
if by chance inbetween any stored procedure do not execute then the shell script has to tell me that this stored procedure failed to execute.

For Exapmle : My Proc name is Weekly_report(i number).
Here i is the argument for which i need to run the proc 7 times as follows

Definitely DBMS_SCHEDULER. Shell scripting is obsolete with perhaps only a few very rare exceptions.+1: shell scripts suck.
DBMS_Scheduler allows you to setup the report procedures as programs that are executed at the same time in a single job (as steps in a scheduler chain). you can also setup email confirmation based on them successfully completing. All good stuff and not difficult to do.

How to pass password to an lftp connection using shell script

I need to transfer a file to server which support FTPS protocol. I am using lftp utility for this purpose. User credentials used to establish the connection expires after a period(eg: 45 days/3 months) . Can anyone guide me with me an approach to use the password in the shell script which transfer the file to the remote server other than hard coding the password in the script.

SSH is a better option but unfortunately it's not always available. If you worry about security, you could use the bookmark lftp feature:
$ lftp ftp://username@server
Password:
lftp username@server:~> set bmk:save-passwords true
lftp username@server:~> bookmark add yourserver
lftp username@server:~> bookmark list
lftp username@server:~> quit
$ lftp yourserver &
$ ps -aux | grep lftp
The password is stored in ~/.lftp/bookmarks (not encrypted) but you can protect the file with the right permissions as you would do with your certificates with SSH.

To connect to non-Oracle databases from SQL*Developer youneed to download the relevant JDBC driver.
This is detailed in the documentation in the User Guide -

SQL Alias's in Shell Script

Hello all,
We are running Oracle 10G on Unix and I am fairly new to Unix. I know how to assign a SQL select statements values to an alias in a SQL environment such as TOAD, such as for example;
Select LogID ID, LogType Type, LogDate Date from audit_logs
where LogDate = sysdate;
That will give the determined values the labels of ID, Type, and Date respectively. But how do I assign the multiple SQL select values to shell script variables in UNIX? I have found how to do it for a single value but not a multiple value.

What we want to do is ensure a relevant file was deleted by a database package\procedure that is part of a third party application. My aim will be to interrogate the relevant table, extract the three relevant fields and join them together into one line\string that will be appended to a lof file

My shell script has below code to execute Pl/Sql procedure.depending on pl/sql procedure status i need to execute the script further.
i am testing error condition.So i kept exe instead of exec for executing procedure.it suppose to return non zero.But iam not getting the correct status in shell script using $?.

The whenever sqlerror clause is a sqlplus command. When Oracle (that is, the sql engine of the pl/sql engine) raises and error in a sql statement, the whenever sqlerror command determines what happens.
Exec is also a sqlplus command, exec <procedure> is shorthand for begin <procedure> end;, that is, it creates an anonymous block.
Your misspelling of exec as exe is not an Oracle error, it is a sqlplus error. The command never actually gets to Oracle, so there has not been a sqlerror for whenever sqlerror to respons to.
Consider, I do not have a procedure called p
SQL> desc p
ERROR:

But, if I call it correctly usinf exec:

How can a type defined in a PL/SQL package be used by an object?
In the PL/SQL Reference manual it says that object attributes can be
types defined inside a PL/SQL package: How do you make this work?
Here is a sample that demonstrates what I am trying to do:

That's a good point, Justin - thanks for the advice. At the moment, our process of data validation isn't very well defined, so the table definitions aren't always the same beyond a core set. As we get more automated and able to develop table definitions flexible enough to accomodate all the quirks in client data, I may be able to consider moving to a single schema to take advantage of maintenance and performance improvements. My ultimate concern with doing that is that the datasets we're dealing with can be tens of millions of rows in size. Clearly, I'm no DBA, but I just assumed that we would be able to churn through these datasets faster if they were in a schema by themselves rather than lumped together into one huge half-a-billion row table?

How to bind arrays to PL/SQL stored procedure using OCI?

We are having problems trying to bind arrays to PL/SQL stored procedure using OCI. Here is the situation:
- We have a stored procedure called "GetVEPFindTasks" with the following interface:

t_VEPFindTaskRecordTable is a record with the following entries:

Pathname2 image_data.pathname%TYPE,

- Now, we are trying to call the stored procedure from C++ using OCI (in UNIX). The call that we use are: OCIBindByName and OCIBindArrayOfStruct to bind the parameters to the corresponding buffers. We bind all parameters in the interface by name. Now, we do bind the record's individual item by name (RTCID, TransNum, etc.), and not as a record. I don't know if this is going to work. Then, we use the bind handles of the binded record items (only record items such as RTCID, TransNum, and NOT error_code which is not part of the record) to bind the arrays (using OCIBindArrayOfStruct).
All of the parameters that are binded as arrays are OUTPUT parameters. The rest are either INPUT or INPUT/OUTPUT parameters. Now, when we try to execute, OCI returns with an error "Invalid number or types of arguments" (or something to that sort... the number was something like ORA-06550). Please help...
Is there any sample on how to use the OCIBindArrayOfStruct with PL/SQL stored procedures? The sample provided from Oracle is only for a straight SQL statement.

You have to pass in an array for every field and deconstruct/construct the record in the procedure. There is no support for record type or an array of records. Can you give me a example? I'am very urgently need it.
