How to completely block access to wireless PC's at night

I setup my kid's pc's with static ip addresses and then added firewall access policies... status: Enabled, protocol: ip from 8am to 11pm. Does this policy disable all external access for the specified pc's during the nighttime hours? Thanks

The original post is referring to the access restrictions selection in the firewall tab. My questions is...did I deny all access between 11pm and 8am by... Using basic setup/set static ip addresses under the setup tab: Setting my kid's pc's to use static ip addresses Using the access restrictions under the firewall tab: added firewall access policies... status: Enabled ip address: the static ip address I set for their PC's days: all time: from 8am to 11pm protocol: ip Does this policy disable all external access for the specified pc's during the nighttime hours? Thanks

  • HOW TO COMPLETELY BLOCK TEAMVIEWER CONNECTION

I use ASA Firewalls within my organization, i need help on how we can completely block teamviewer connections in and out of my organizations network.
    thank you

    Hello Salawu,
There has been a lot of discussions about these and what I can tell you from that is Team-Viewer is an application that is really difficult to block as it jumps from port to port to be able to reach their servers to the point they can use Port TCP/80 and I am quite sure you do not want to block that.
Some people have talked about instead of filtering the traffic to their IPs (as there are many many) to use DNS inspection with regex and then block their domain instead.
Note: Check this post for that
     https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/11536791/block-teamviwer-cisco-asa-5520-82
I have even seen that it can jump to port TCP/443 (HTTPS) where the traffic goes encrypted so the firewall will not be able to filter this as the traffic will not go in clear text.
The only way You could make this happen is if you have a Next-Generation Firewall and you implement the CX module to be Fully Application Aware and filter the Team-Viewer application (You might even enable SSL Decryption in case it uses port 443).
I hope this answer helps you and remember to rate my answers :)

    Hi,
We can disable OneDrive in Office with Group Policy.
First, please download Office 2013 Administrative Template files (ADMX/ADML) from this link below:
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35554
Then, press Win + R, type "gpedit.msc" in the blank box, press Enter.
The settings can be found under User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Microsoft Office 2013 -> Miscellaneous. Select the “Block signing into Office” option in the list of settings. In the Properties window, click “Enable” and select
the option “None Allowed.” Save the settings and open Word to check, there should be no OneDrive option for the user.

It's recommended to download and install
Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT), which is developed by Microsoft Support teams. Once the tool is installed, you can run it at any time to scan for hundreds of known issues in Office
    programs.

  • I have lost my iPad. I fear it has fallen into wrong hands. How do I block access remotely?

I have lost my ipad at a supermarket. I fear it has been taken. I would like to retrace it and/or block access to it as soon as possible. I am not sure if I activated "find my ipad," before it was lost. It is linked and synced with my MacbookPro. It is wifi activated and has a micro simcard which is also acrive.

Go to icloud.com on your computer and see if you can locate it, as explaned here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmfc0f2442.  It will only work if you have Find My iPad enabled, and it has a connection to the internet with your settings unchanged.  You have the option to lock it or erase it remotely if it can be tracked (http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmfc0f0165).  However, if you erase it you will no longer be able to track it.

  • How to create guest access in wireless by WISM and WCS and ACS?

    dear sir
i neeed to know the steps of how we can make guest access to our network like hotels by using our WISM v 7.0.220 and wireless control system and ACS ?

You need to define your requirements a little bit. The WLC can do WebAuth and an employee can access either the WLC or WCS to put in the username and password credentials, but you would need to figure out what's best for you.
Here is a support doc that you can reference.

  • How can my gateway access the wireless connection?

I have a PC (gateway) and a laptop(Apple).I normally use the ethernet connection to get internet via cablevision. Today i bought an airport express and set it in order to have a wireless connection.it works on my apple but not on the Gateway.
    How should i do?

Hello MrRahan90. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
Does your PC have wireless capability? If not, you will need to get a wireless adapter in order to be able to access the AirPort Express Base Station's (AX) wireless network. One example, would be the Linksys WUSB600N.

  • How to completely block Facebook

When I surf the Internet I always have a Facebook.net cache cookie in Safari. I already have installed Glimmerblocker, Facebookblocker, AdBlock, Ghostery, and Facebook Disconnect plugins all with strict filters but nothing helps. The option to block third-party cookies is enabled, of course. I don't see Like buttons on webpages anymore but the cookie comes again and again. How can I ban that terrible Facebook from my computer? It's like a plague.

Like many others, I have drunk the Koolaid, and am hooked.  Thus, the problems with Safari creates a sort of cognitive dissonance for me.  I have struggled with Safari's inability to do what it says under preferences and I am disheartened by Apple's nonresponse to the problem.  This sort of incompetence we came to expect from nearly all other software and hardware companies, and we suffered with it until the arrival of Apple.
The larger question is. Why hasn't Apple fixed this problem?  Perhaps this is not incompetence, but rather by design.  This conclusion is more than a little disheartening for me as a user, and just as importantly, as an investor.  It's hard to imagine a situation like this persisting under the guidance of Mr. Jobs, and maybe this is the first chink in the armor.  Perhaps it has been the wow factor that attracted so many of us to these excellent products, but it is the reliability factor that keeps us in the fold.
I have successfully solved the problem by switching to the Firefox web browser.  It appears to be completely capable of doing what it says - blocking all cookies, but it goes much farther in permitting a user to select exactly which cookies to block or allow.  This is a sophisticated system that with its ease of use, suggests Firefox has borrowed a page from Apple's success.
I know of no biggerr threat to Apple's ongoing success than its failure to fix problems such as this one, for after the wow factor has faded and been stolen and copied by every other Tom, Dick and Harry manufacturer  out there, it is the dependability and reliability that keeps us in the fold.
    This is indeed a disappointment.

  • How do I block access to external hard drive

I have a child account on my computer, and have set up various parental controls but can't see a way to block the access to external hard drives which are connected to my Mac.
I have a couple of drives which contain my work related files so I don't want my child to view or edit them. Is there a way I can stop her seeing these drives when she searches for something in Finder?
    Thanks

You can create encrypted sparse disk image.
Once you have done that you can move the data you wish to protect into it.
This way the only to access the data is by first providing the password to open the disk image.

  • How do I restrict access to Wireless router (800 series) by mac address

I hope I'm in the correct area.
I'm trying to deny access to 3 wireless devices to the cisco 800 series wireless router
    The MAC address are:
MAC Address    IP address      Device        Name            Parent         State
    0014.6caf.410a 192.168.2.26    unknown       -               self           Assoc
    9803.d8ba.cd42 192.168.2.41    unknown       -               self           Assoc
    a4d1.d205.72e1 192.168.2.25    unknown
If this cannot be done is it poosible to assign the mac address to an ip address and then denying access to the ip address.
    Thanks
    Jon

    Hello Jon,
You should be able to do it either way. Best way would be by IP address so you do not even allow the host to associate with your AP.

  • How do I block child access to "ask to buy button" on his iPhone?i

how do I block access to the "ask to buy" button on his iPhone?

No. It's very involved. That initial syncing of the bookmarks
Was all done at once. After I processed the
Firefox home app onto the phone. there has to be a way that automatically transfers any new bookmarks from the PC to
The home app on the iPhone.
it's supposed to sync automatically. but there is no new data.

  • How do I block a computer from accessing connection via wireless router?

This is my first linksys router.  My previous one had an option that i could choose to block a specific computer from accessing my wireless connection.  I cannot find an option like that with my linksys router.  I have to leave the connection open becuase of issues with other computers in the household not being able to connect with security being used.  Thanks!

what is the model number of your router?
if the wireless security wont work try to use the mac filter.you have to get the mac address of your computers in the house and you have to input it in the mac filter window on the set up page of your router.

  • How to block one of wireless network

    Hi there,
I have Airport Extreme with 2 wireless networks, one for my iMac and my wife’s iPad another one is for kids PCs. All of us are connected only wireless.
Question, how shall I block the kids network my configuration, now when I block the Airport (Turn Off Airport) actually it’s only me who cannot use wireless network, all others still can do it. Purpose is to block the kids using the wireless network during the night. Now my solution is to pull out lan cable between Airport and ADSL modem.
I believe there must be smarter way to do it, I just don’t know how. Could you please help,
    thanks

    Hello!
Your Extreme can set time restrictions on when specific computers can access the network. You can configure them using AirPort Utility:
Open AirPort Utility, select your Extreme in the sidebar, and press "Manual Setup." If you're asked for a password, enter it. Go to the "Access Control" tab and set "MAC Address Access Control" to "Timed Access."
Now you can set up the time restrictions.
To add a computer to the list, press the "+" button. You'll be presented with a dialog that will let you configure the time restrictions. You'll need to enter the device's MAC address. You'll also want to enter a description so that you'll know what device the restriction applies to.
You can double-click the "(default)" entry to set restrictions on computers not on your list. When you're finished, press "Update" and allow your Extreme to restart.

  • How do I access Firefox when Norton 360 firewall seems to be blocking access but all links on Norton 360 default to Mozilla page which can't connect?

I'm writing this via a Windows Explorer browser window which should tell you the problem, or at least that I can't connect through Mozilla Firefox.
Mozilla has been my default for years and I've always had Norton, 360 for the last few years. I've been through the traditional update problems with Toolbar/ID Safe and both of those are working fine.
Both were updated to absolute latest version within the last week due to an Update/Restart problem I was having with Windows 8.
There were some periodic problems with initializing the Norton problems which generally led to a Firefox not responding situation.
But I was able to run both quick and complete scans yesterdays and the Norton Autofix tells me no problems with their program/app.
I just downloaded newest Mozilla 25.0.1 last night again as last resort because I can't access Firefox beyond the homepage.
Spotify also told me there appeared to be a firewall blocking access. I also can't access iTunes.
I went to Windows 8 Action Center and it listed Norton 360 as controlling the firewall.
But I went to the allow apps through Windows Firewall tab in System anyway and didn't see any listing for Mozilla or Firefox there (maybe you have a less obvious filename).
My own network connection is working fine, obviously I'm on Explorer and no problems with my other computer.
I'm going to contact Norton to deal with this problem, too.
But my real problem now is that any attempt to contact the Symantec/Norton help/support site is automatically sent through a Firefox page which can't connect.
Right now I can't figure out how to do a tech chat or something to work at it from their end.
So that's why I'm here asking if you've run into this or know any way around it.
Obviously, the quicker a response the better.
    Thanks for your time.
    Ciao 4 now,
    Don Snowden

    Hello J Scher,
I don't know if this answer solves it, but I did contact Norton Support through IE and the tech had me download Firefox again...just like I did the night before on my own. But for the moment, for whatever reason, all those issues have gone away, knock on wood three million times. I can access Norton support pages, I can get on Spotify and I can reach the iTunes store.
I will freely admit to not being a great computer person but I have no idea why my machine did this to me all weekend and why it cleared up now, unless the Norton tech did some behind-the-scenes tweakery. But for now, I'm okay and things are working, knock on wood four million more times (figure I better up the ante).
    Thanks for your help.
