How to connect several clients to a server?
Hi, i'm currently developing a client server based application. The problem i'm facing now is that i can only add one client. But i want to add every client that connects to the server. Do i need to assign each input and output stream to each connected clients?how do i do that? and will it be possible to add the connected client's name to a JList?
Thanks in advance.
You need multithreaded server.

kathyainiHi,
thankyou for your response,
my problem here is as soon as i open CR Designer , and if i click on either New Report,Blank Report, or standard report wizard it is saying "failed to create database connection"
on which ever thing i click it is telling the same "failed to create database connection" i created the user DSN properly , i could not create System DSN i dont know why.
can u please guide me
and one more thing on the machine where CR server is installed , on the same machine designer is also installed (i think u was telling the same) . my question is how the server will know about the CR Designer installed in my machine.

HOW TO CONNECT FROM CLIENT MACHINE TO REMOTE MACHINE(SERVER DATABASE MACHINE)
Hi friends.
I need your valuable help,
I am using oracle 11g database.
I have two system.One is client machine and installed oracle 11G client software.
and from this machine user can connect remote server database(This is old remote system, this is just for Information).
And i have created one new database called RMANP in new remote server machine (this is the machine, in which i need to connect from client machine)
ex
CLIENT MACHINE DETAIL IS:
system66
ip address is 192.162.21.66
REMOTE SEVER MACHINE DETAILS IS:
system56
ip address is 192.162.21.56.
and i add entry on client machine tnsname.ora file like following,
RMANP=
(DESCRIPTION=
(ADDRESS=
(PROTOCOL=TCP)
(HOST=192.168.21.56)
(PORT=1521)
(CONNECT_DATA=
(SERVICE_NAME=rmanp)
But when i try to connect to remote server from client machine in sqlplus, i am getting an error, Like following,
SQL> CONN SYS/SYSPW AS SYSDBA;
ERROR:

There is nothing in your connect string to tell sqlplus which database you want to connect to. Therefore it assumes (by default) that you want to connect to a *local* database whose name is identified by the value of the environment variable ORACLE_SID. And there is no such database, so he gets the reported error trying to establish a connection to a non-existent local service.
You need to specify your target database, thusly:
SQL> conn sys/syspw@rmanp as sysdba
BTW, connecting to a remote database as sysdba is considered by most DBAs to be a big secruity breach. If you really need sysdba privileges (rare) you should be logged on to the database server machine with proper OS credentials, and work from there.
Also, TYPING IN ALL CAPS IS PERCEIVED AS SHOUTING. -
Connecting Java client to SSL server with existing certificates
I am currently trying to connect my Java client to an existing server application
written in C++. I have been provided the needed certificates (root.pem, server.pem,
and client.pem). My code simply creates a SSLSocket and then attempts to read
from it. Something goes wrong during the handshake process and I get a SSLHandshakeException. The certificates have been added to the keystore
I am using, and I do not know any other action to take.
Here is the debug output:

Error: Remote host closed connection during handshake
Thread-4, handling exception: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: Remote host closed connection during handshake(I am the original poster of this message, I had to create a new username though).
The original problem had to do with incompatibilities with the protocol and/or cipher suites
used. Now, the client and server perform most of the handshake process, but something
goes wrong as the server requests the client certificate. In other words, the server requires
mutual authentication, but for some reason it seems like my JSSE client won't send over
it's client certificate. I don't get any type of bad certificate exceptions, so I'm not sure
where the source of the error lies.

How to connect to an oracle database server from a linux server?
Hi,
I am a total newbie to oracle. At my work, I only know that there is a server with an oracle 10g database set up.
I was provided with the hostname, oracle sid, port, username and password but i don't know how to connect to it, log on to it and do things on the database.
Can anyone give me a pointer on how to get started (like how to log on to the server and start doing some simple things. )
Any help is appreciated :)
Thank youGoto your local Oracle install directory and then goto folder NETWORK/ADMIN
cd ${ORACLE_HOME}/network/admin
do you see a tnsnames.ora file there? If you edit that file in your favorite editor, you would hopefully see some entries there already setup. See if one of those entries contain the hostname, sid, port that was given to you. if it does, that name is what you will use:
$ sqlplus username/password@name_of_tns_entry_you_found_aboveif not, then just duplicate an existing entry and change the relevant settings for your database, give it a new name and use it to connect.
alternatively you can also use the "Net Configuration Assistant" application. -
How to connect to Windows 2008 VPN server with certificate support
Unfortunatelly if I select any Windows 2008 server compatible protocol (PPTP, L2TP) I cannot select PKI certificate, its only available for Cisco VPN. Yet my company has 1000 laptops and utilizing Windows 2008 Server for VPN (Cisco is too expensive and unnecessary because VPN is part of Windows Server). PKI certificate is required for connection security.
Any plans to enable certificates for PPTP or L2TP in 2.1 firmware? Even better would be to add SSTP protocol with certificate support, because it takes only one standard TCP connection (https) per user (uses least possible NAT resources for heavy loaded NATed WiFi spots). Also in some public places https is the only option to connect as PPTP and L2TP are filtered.Hi Shahzad,
>>how to connect sql server 2008 r2 sp2 with visual studio 2013 ultimate?
Based on your issue, if you wan to connect the sql server 2008 r2 sp2 from VS2013 IDE. I suggest you can try the Ammar and darnold924's suggestion to check your issue.
In addition, I suggest you can also refer the following steps to connect the sql server 2008 r2 sp2 with visual studio 2013 ultimate.
Step1: I suggest you can go to VIEW->SQL Server Object Explorer->Right click SQL Server->Add SQL Server.
Step2: After you connect the SQL Server 2008 r2 sp2 fine, I suggest you can go to VIEW->Server Explorer-> right click the Data Connection->Add Connection.
And then you can create the connect string in the Add Connection dialog box.
Hope it help you!

Hi Everyone,

Why not download over http (and save yourself a lot of time)? -

How to connect musicdb to Microsoft SQL Server
hi..
i have tried musicdb example with mysql, but i need to connect it to SQL Server.
i have created a similar DB in SQL SERVER, however i am not able to create a user, similar to musicdbuser and musicdbpass in SQL SERVER.
Also in the Administrator console i followed these steps.
1. Applications->web Applications->deployed the war file-> OK
2.Resources->JDBC->Connection Pool->New->Name ='musicdb-jdbc-pool-SQLserver'->Resource Type='javax.sql.Datasource'->Database Vendor='Microsoft SQL SERVER'-> Next
added properties Values
databaseName musicdb(this is the database i created in MS SQL SERVER)
databaseSourceName musicdb(this is the DSN name i created in control panel->ODBC connections)
networkProtocol TCP
user sa (this is the username that i use to start SQL SERVER)
password syntel123$ (this is the password that i use with the above user )
portNumber 1443
serverName localhost
then i click finish.
if i say ping to this connection , i get success!!
3. then i goto resources->jdbc->jdbc resources->new->JNDI Name="jdbc/musicdb"->pool name="musicdb-jdbc-pool-SQLserver'"->ok
4. Then i click resources->connectors->connector connection pool->new->Name="mep/musicdb"->resource adapter="ds-jcr-connector-jaxrs"->next->finish
5 Then i click resources->connector resources->new->JNDI name="mep/musicdb"->pool="mep/musicdb"->ok
however when i hit the URL http://localhost:8080/musicdb/resources/albums
i get the following error
type : Exception report
message
description: The server encountered an internal error () that prevented it from fulfilling this request.

root cause: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class com.sun.mep.ws.vtms.util.ConnectionPoolHi,
I was able to create a JDBC connection pool for SQL Server successfully and will share the key steps, and was able to create a MEP user with an ECBO connection configured for the SQL Server; However, it looks like there is a "false positive" problem. Even though the user was created with the SQL Server connector whose associated JDBC connection pool passed the Ping test, doing a sync as that user changed the MySQL database album table and not the SQL Sever album table. MEP didn't give any error at all. I will bring this up with our engineers.
Here are the steps for at least getting GF JDBC connections with SQL Server working.
1. With MS SQL Sever 2005 Server Management Studio,
created a 'musicdb' database, a 'musicdbuser' user with password 'musicdbpass',
and added the 'album' table with
name (varchar(30) primary key, not null)
artist (varchar(30), not null)
date_published (datetime, not null)
rating (int, not null)
username (varchar(30), not null)
2. With MS SQLServer Configuration Manager, enable TCP/IP on static IP address
and 127.0.0.1 on port 1433 and restarted the SQL Server service
3. Downloaded Microsoft's 2.0 Driver for SQL Server 2005
4. Copied the driver sqljdbc4.jar to GF_HOME/domains/mep/lib/ext
5. Restarted GF
6. Login to GF Admin Console
7. Create Resources -> JDBC -> Connection Pool
name: musicdb_pool_sqlserver
resource type: javax.sql.DataSource
datasource class: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDataSource
8. Create Resources -> JDBC -> Resource
name jdbc/musicdb_sqlserver
9. Go back to musicdb_pool_sqlserver and click Additional Properties then add
user: musicdbuser
password: musicdbpass
serverName=localhost
portNumber=1433
databaseName=musicdb
10. Click General tab and click Ping. Get Success! -
How to connect several database server
I want to build a web site using jsp servlet for my university course purpose. In the background i will have three servers one is database server like server A another is certificate authority server like server B and the other one is Bank server like server C. Next, user will input through login page(say for example user name & password for database server A, certificate credentials for server B) then the login page will check user credentials kept in server A and at the same time with server B(CA server). If the user credentials kept in both of these servers(A &B) are matched then the page will inform that this is the valid user and connect to the bank server for money transaction. I hope now the my problem is clear to you. please answer me how can i prepare for that.
what are the concepts related to that and have any demo code which i can use for that purpose.Cross posted all over the place.

How to dynamically connect Extend client to proxy server?
Hi,
Is it possible to do programmatically? My client should decide at run time to which node it will connect.
Thanks, Denis.Hi Denis,
Yes you can do this, you need to write an implementation of com.tangosol.net.AddressProvider which provides your client with the InetSocketAddress it should connect to. Your implementation of AddressProvider can then work out the end-point however it likes. You configure your remote-cache-scheme or remote-invocation-scheme to use the Addressprovider instead of putting in socket-address entries.
E.G. instead of this...
<tcp-initiator>
<remote-addresses>
<socket-address>
<address>192.456.789</address>
<port>10000</port>
</socket-address>
</remote-addresses>
</tcp-initiator>you do this...
<tcp-initiator>
<remote-addresses>
<address-provider>
<class-name>com.jk.MyAddressProvider<class-name>
<address-provider>
</remote-addresses>
</tcp-initiator>If you need to parameterise your AddressProvider you can add init-param entries to the config in the usual way.
