I got a new computer and somehow have lost some of my more recently purchased and or imported music. I have some of that music on an iphone and some on an ipad. How do I get the music from those devices into my itunes library without losing everything else?

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.

Actually, you can transfer purchased iTunes content to your computer: your phone connected, iTunes running, without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases or right-click the phone in the left device pane & select transfer purchases. Non-purchased iTunes content you cannot transfer without using third-party software.

I got a mac a few months ago and a few weeks ago I began to get mackeeper ads popping up in a different screen. Now it s getting worse and happening almost every time I click on something, and there s even more variety of what websites pop up. Now I have pop ups on the actual website I m on and they pop up every time I click something. It s really obnoxious and I hate it. How can I get rid of this....? iTunes will not transfer non-purchased media from you phone to your computer (only purchased media). Non-purchased songs only sync one way: from computer to phone. If you want to transfer non-purchased music from your phone to your mac you will have to purchase 3rd party software such as Touch Copy. Purchased media, including music, can be transfered to your iTunes library by connecting to iTunes, right-clicking on your phone when it appears on the left sidebar, and choosing Transfer Purchases.

I have an external hard drive which has my i-photo on it & some movies from i-movie that I have on disk now. But for some reason my ehd has a caution symbol on it & I can't move my event to free up space on my hd so that I can export i-movie events. Help!
Usually the caution symbol means that it's formatted as a PC compatible format like NTFS or most likely FAT32. For iMovie to use it the ehd must be formatted Mac OS Extended. Then iMovie will show it without the caution symbol and you can drag/drop open any Event/Project from that hard drive.
To find out if it's formatted as PC:
Go to the desktop, holding down the Control key click on that ehd and in the pop-menu choose 'Get Info'
Under Format: It will say whether or not it's Mac OS Extended (Journaled). The only way to undo a PC formatted ehd would be to copy everything off of it first, Erase/Format the drive using Disk Utility in the Applications>Utilities folder on your Mac, choosing the Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format in the pull-down menu there. -

Itunes will only accept mp4 or m4v files. If the file is not this format either rerip it and convert to m4v or mp4 depending on your conversion software. You will also need to tag it explicitly as a movie so it ends up in the right place.
Personally I use Subler for that as it enables me to set The HD setting that shows up in itunes -

The hard drive on my Macbook Pro is getting full (mainly due to the size of my iTunes library). Can I store it on my time capsule and if so, how is it done ?
You can store your iTunes library on a Time Capsule. So that you can access on your local (home) network (I wouldn't recommend access via the internat), (off site.....to slow).
If you do decide to put your libray on Time Capsule I'd recommend doing this.
Option 1:
1. Don't use TC as a Backup (Time Machine).
2. Connect a USB drive to your TC or Computer and backup to the drive. Backup when a change is made to the library (adding Apps, Songs you get the idea).
Option 2: (What Im doing)
1. Two Time Capsule's connected via ethernet cable (roaming mode, bridge).
2. Use TC1 as a Time Machine backup
3. Use TC2 as network drive. (The information on TC2 does NOT get backed up to TC1).
3a. Connect a USB, FW, drive to your desktop computer (if you have one) use SilverKeeper to schedule backups. Silverkeeper will look at TC2 and back it up to a external or internal HD. I've been doing the or some time now. Or connect to your TC and do an archive.
I have this setup because I don't trust Cloud base services and I want access to my files (in Sync) on TC where ever I am, as long as there's a internet connection. It's expensive, but does exactly what I expect.
The most important thing is to safe guard your data in case of a failure.
In your situation it would probably be better to get a high speed SD or thumb drive, however I've never been successful in backing up those type of drives with TM. What ever you decide to do make sure you have a GOOD duplicate (backup). -
My hard drive crashed on my Imac 24" 2009, I installed a new hard drive 2TB and a SSD drive 240 GB and removed the optical drive.
