How to connect to db from sql navigator ?
database active and working.
login from web working normally.
how to connect to db from sql navigator ?
Remote connections generally need three bits of information, whether its an oracle, odbc, or some other type of client ...
1. Where does the database "live" (hostname or IP address)
2. What port is the database listener "listening" on for connections
3. What is the database service name or $ORACLE_SID
Default port is 1521, if its an XE install the service name is XE out-of-the-box (as set up by the installer and no DBA intervention.)

How to connect oracle database from tuxedo
Hi,
How to connect oracle database from tuxedo.
If any one can help me.
Regards,it depends on configuration your going to choose, there are two ways--
- Using X/Open standards, for this
you have to make an entry of Resource manager in $TUXDIR/udataobj/RM file.
Then in UBBConfig file in GROUPS section u have to set Openinfo.
It also depend on which database you are going to use.
In your service now you need to call tpopen() API from tpsvrinit() function.
- Other possibility is, take an implicit connection using Pro*C or Pro*Cobol whatever platform you are using.
EXEC SQL Connect ... -

Phani Kumar RSorry Tom, I dont like to hear "There is no way" :-(
There is always a way in computer to get what you need (at least it is good as Rule of thumb). I am not sure we will find it here (in a voluntary supporting forum).
Now we (or better the architect of their system) should think of the way :-)
Of course doing so in the forum, while we do know the system and only got a glimpse on what is needed, is not the best idea. I will point some issues which can be related to a solution. Those are not a solotions as it is but something we can use for a solution
once something look in the right way.
* A web connects counter is one of the easier thing to do. The basic idea is just to use the connect event and the disconnect event an adding 1 or removing 1 from the counter. This is best to do in the application using static variable as any way the second
the application is down the counter can be go to hell as we know there is no one connect (there for a counter do not use database usually). Using a web dot-net (or asp 3) application this is done most of the time using the global.asa/global.asax file, which
include the application and session events. for example using the method Session_Start
protected void Session_Start(object sender, EventArgs e) {
// Code that runs when a new session is started
* IIS have a build-in loging system where we can log each and every request/response or only logins users. There is lot we can do with this log files including data mining. Using small bulk insert script we can use the SQL agent to insert those logs to the
database and get the information we need.
* any web developer i want to believe know about the Fiddler application which we use to monitor traffic. A proxy is not the only way to to monitor traffic (it is not good for our case as this is in the client side), there are several option in the server
side.
* SQL trigger on logon can be use to get information on who is loging on and can be logging only specific source (like our sharepoint IP or any sharepoint application). This information (what is the application which connect to the server can be retrive
in several solution without using a trigger as well)
*** (I'll be brief ... I'm getting bored... probably the reader feel the same)
* using extended events and/or profiler we can monitor any connection and save the data or just remember it in shared (static) variable (this
blog show how to do it by the way). Again we can monitor specific application or use any filter in order to get only the sharepoint users
.... and i can continue for several days more :-) ...
"If there is a willing, then there's a way"
"If you can't do it, Then someone else probably can"
"Never say never"
I hope this help somehow :-)

PROCEDURE "SAP_HANA_DEMO"."usersCreateMethod" (IN row "SAP_HANA_DEMO"."User.Details",
OUT error "SAP_HANA_DEMO"."EPM.Procedures.tt_errors")
Now, how do i call it from SQL ?
I'm trying to call it like

It says
Could not execute 'CALL "SAP_HANA_DEMO"."sap.hana.democontent.epm.Procedures::usersCreateMethod"('my_global_table','?')'
SAP DBTech JDBC: [1288]: expression cannot be used as an assignment target: '?': line 1 col 97 (at pos 96)
Thanks & Regards

You should call like this
Define a variable of your table type.
Define ErrorMessage SAP_HANA_DEMO"."EPM.Procedures.tt_errors"
CALL "SAP_HANA_DEMO"."usersCreateMethod"('my_global_table',ErrorMessage);

How to get Worksheet Description from SQL

Thanks in advance.check this !!!! at least it a starting point
Thread: Where in the EUL schema can I find metadata on worksheets
I followed this steps:
Use the following steps to get the Trigger Working:
1. Login as EUL owner EUL10
Create a test table
CREATE TABLE eul10.TRIG_TAB
ACC_DATE DATE,
sso_name varchar2(100)
2. Create a function under the eul schema owner: eul_trigger$post_login
Do not pass any argument to the function.
Return a number from function.
CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION EUL10.EUL_TRIGGER$POST_LOGIN
RETURN NUMBER AS
BEGIN
insert into EUL10.TRIG_TAB(acc_date) values(sysdate);
commit;
RETURN 0;
END;
3. Login with Discoverer Administrator to EUL=EUL10.
4. Check the Menu > Tools > Default EUL.
Make sure this is set to EUL10
If not then change the EUL10 and restart Discoverer Administrator.
5. Now Register the trigger in Discoverer Administrator
Menu >Tools > Register PL/SQL Function ...
6. Click import
7. Select the trigger EUL10.eul_trigger$post_login
|8. Make sure the display name is eul_trigger$post_login (MUST BE lowercase or it will not work)
Function name must be in uppercase: EUL_TRIGGER$POST_LOGIN
9. Make sure the the return type is number and that no arguments get passed.
10. Validate the Function by clicking on the Validate button.
11. Click ok
12. Connect with Discoverer desktop as EUL owner.
13. We see entries in the table trig_tab with the current date.

How to push realtime data from SQL Server
Hello,
I am looking for the best way to approach the following
situation ... 1) how to connect 2) what I will need to maintain
"realtime" updated data on the the web browser (client) side 3) and
if Flash Media Server 2 or the Flash runtime (Platform) would be
required.
I have a SQL Server database that is updated every 5 seconds
with new data and I need to have this data reflected on a Flash
webpage. For simplicity, lets just say its a table that contains 50
records with 4 fields. When/if the data changes in any of the
fields it needs to show up "realtime" on the webpage. All thoughts
would be helpful ... but unfortunately it must be done in Flash
(don't ask) ... Thanks in advance!Having a webpage designed using FLASH 8 that can
communicate with a SQL Database would be something I am looking
into also. I hope someone that really knows what he is doing
explains this to us. I would like to use this with a catalog that
would be updated when I update the SQL Data. Why use FLASH? Reason
I am using it is that one has control of their work. The typical
HTML and other programming that works with HTML seem to NOT have a
standard making your website work look really good in one browser
but look like heck in another and some browsers will just not work
like you designed it. -

-- RajaHello,
Can you clarify what you are trying to connect from? If it's B1 ( one ) then post to the [B1 forum|http://forums.sdn.sap.com/index.jspa#44].
Otherwise need more info on the product you are using?
Typically the Oracle Path must be in the PATH statement as well it requires the correct platform ( 32 or 64 ) bit client installed.
Most BOE/CR products are 32 bit so you need to install the 32 bit client.
