How to control File Removal action

In ZCM 10.3.3 I want to use the file removal action to remove a temporary directory I have created after the install has finished. I have an app that does the following under the 'Actions | Install' tab:
1. Does an Install Files action to push down an installation file to a subdir of ${TempDir}
2. Launch Executable to run the installation file after it has been pushed down
3. File Removal action to remove the subdir.
How can I make the File Removal action wait until the installation has finished instead of running right after the executable has been launched?
Thanks,
Dan

On the Advanced Tab of the "Launch Windows Executable Tab", there is an
option to 'Wait Until the Action is Complete'.

  • How many control file should be created in ASM for ORACLE 4 nodes RAC

We have a oracle 10G(10.2.0.4) database with 4 nodes locates ASM in redhat linux5.
The vendor created this RAC system with database.
    I saw below infornation as
    SQL> select name from GV_$CONTROLFILE;

    +FLSDISK1/sale/controlfile/current.256.690290159
It seems that each node with one control file.
I got a feedback that vender claimed SAN is very reliable.
I am new person for database at ASM for RAC.
Could you make a explain for this condition? Do I need to add ( mirror) another 2 control file into ASM?
The Oracle recommands that at least 2 contril files( best 3 files) in different place. This is true for signle instance.
How about RAC that database locates in ASM?
    Please help me!!
    Jim

You are fine using the standard three controlfiles in ASM, four is fine too, but it does not need to be tied to the number of instances as all the instances in a RAC database use the same controlfile (and its copies). ASM knows the controlfile type and will stripe each one in 128k pieces across as many volumes as it can. I much prefer to have my controlfiles in ASM, it prevents accidental deletion and generally makes DBA life easier.

  • How to control File read Proxy Service when it is polling from folder?

    Hello all,
In my current requirement we are receiving  xml's through one folder(LOCAL) from source side.we are picking those xml's  by proxy service PS1  as file transport for every 10 sec and configured that folder path.In PS1 message flow we put on routing action to one bussiness service, that business service sending those xml's to one MQ.
We already created this interface but the issue is source side they plan to change that folder and also they want to stop this service(folder to MQ) sometimes based on synarios. That folder will be delete or if exist proxy wont read messages from that folder.
But proxy is still looking for that folder in Test ENV on Unix system then it gives error beacuse of unix folder structure is different, proxy unable to create that folder in unix system.it is creating in windows.
Now we want to control that service when the folder is ready that time only  proxy will activate otherwise not..i.e like if condition "if cndtion is satisfied PS1 starts the polling from that folder else condition should be work.
How can i control PS1 service?
Is there any chance to control by using another proxy?

  • How to control file location of iPhone pictures?

I have invested a lot of time into figuring out a smart way to combine Apple's approach of handling images (database-driven) with the approach of all other services (file-driven) but was not successful yet. I really hope you can help me.
Problem: I take a lot of picture on my iPhone and want them to be:
in a useful location on my drive based on events (e.g. Pictures/Christmas 2013/IMG_123.JPG) which enables me to use file-based services like dropbox
    in iPhoto
My problem: if I attach my iPhone and start iPhoto, I can import images from the iPhone without any control over where they are placed on the hard disk.
I tried several ways to work around this:
Find the images in the iPhoto Library folder and move them --> iPhoto doesn't find them anymore. Unfortunately it doesn't ask me where to find them but just shows an error symbol.
Export the images and reimport them --> A lot of manual effort + I loose some timestamp information
Hack into the SQLite DB of iPhoto --> I managed to update the imagePath in iPhoto but then found out that the location is additionally stored in a file alias which is stored in SQLite as a BLOB. I don't see a chance to create/update such an alias
Any idea how I can control where images are stored? Should I use another mechanism to import images from the iPhone instead of importing directly into the media library?

in a useful location on my drive based on events (e.g. Pictures/Christmas 2013/IMG_123.JPG) which enables me to use file-based services like dropbox
Do you want to store the original image files in a synced folder like your dropbox folder? Then you are risking to breaking the connection between your original image files and the versions in your iPhoto library.
Image files managed by iPhoto are best left alone. iPhoto offers many safe ways to access the photos, and probably can what you want be done, by using iPhoto's interface. What yo not can do in iPhoto is syncing the library to other macs.
Any idea how I can control where images are stored? Should I use another mechanism to import images from the iPhone instead of importing directly into the media library?
The only way to control where images are stored, is to avoid importing them in the first place. If you disable "Copy items to the iPhoto Library". Then your image files wil remain exactly where they are. But this method is not recommended, because it is a disaster waiting to happen. Images imported this way cannot be rlocated to another drive, if you are running out of space, they are difficult to restore from backup, and they are not well protected and may be accidentally moved or deleted.  If you need a photo library that supports this kind of staorage better, upgrade to Aperture.

    Hi Arthur,
unfortunately, you can't set any inactive_date or delete the file on the whole. But you can, if you have access to the database the following option, to vanish the file:
    DELETE
    FROM XDO_LOBS
    WHERE LOB_CODE=<DATA_DEFINITION_CODE>
    AND LOB_TYPE='BURSTING_FILE';

    ORACLE_HOME="/export/home/oracle/product/8.1.6"
    NLS_LANG=".UTF8"

    i) /data1 -- contains important datafiles (OS striping on 3 hard
    disks)
ii) /export/home -- contains the oracle program, and SYS/SYSTEM
    datafiles
    Problem:
    -/data1 cannot be read/mount (damaged)
    -oracle failed
    Action Performed:
    -reinstalled OS
-mount /export/home successfully (all oracle system files,
    instance init files exist)
    -/data1 is an empty partition
-created the oracle user, and its groups
-chown recusively for the $ORACLE_BASE directory
-set all the oracle environment variables
-attempted to start the instance, but failed due to a control
    file was
    missing
-since control files were set to be mirrored, i copied a control
    file somewhere
    from /export/home/oracle/oradata/<SID>/control1.ctl to
/data1/oracle/oradata/<SID>/control2.ctl (i.e. have them back to
    their original locations)
-the instance failed to start as well, since the datafile set in
the control files couldn't be found
-this forced me to re-create the control file... b4 i re-create
a new control file, i backed up the old one
-once the control file was created, the database can be started,
but, to oracle, all achieve log information are lost (although
the achieve log's physical files r still there)
-i imported the important data from a dump file that was
exported a week ago b4 the system failure
-since we r using the new control file, the redo logs switch
contains no achieve log information that the old control file
has, so running "recover database" doesn't do anything
    Purpose:
since the dump file is a week old, i'd like to get the data
after my last export and b4 the system failure. the database was
run in arhieve log mode, how can i recover those data with the
    new control file
    Question:
-how can we create a new control file that can drive the old
    achieve logs?
-can we convert the achieve log data (.dbf format) into text
    format?
-can we still use the old control files to start the database?
-what's a suggested solution if we'd like to re-construct the
database up to the moment b4 the system failure in another
    server?

We lost a system that was running our development database without having a database export. The C drive was placed into a new system as the D drive.
I have loaded Oracle 9i on the C drive, but I have been unable to determine how to point it to the existing data files on the D drive. My search skills may be the limiting factor here...
We cannot simply load the drive as C, since the hardware is different.
What are the steps to point the new database software at the data files on the D drive? Or, how do I copy the old data files into the new Oracle Home and have them recognized properly?
Are you stating that you don't know how to use COPY command?
Can you recreate same directory structure on new C drive as exist on old C drive?
Can you then drag & drop copies of the files?

We are hardcoding the instance name in the control file as <xapi:template type="rtf" location="/app/ebs/atgsidev02/gsidev02comn/java/oracle/apps/xxod/XXARPRST.rtf">
But gsidev02 is coming from the element 'INSTANCE'.
So we need to place element 'INSTANCE' in place gsidev02 in the above location
Can you plz help on this how to solve.
    Thanks,
    Sam

    Sam
You can remove this hardocding by following line in control file.
    <xapi:template type="XSL-FO" location="xdo://XXOD.XXARPRST.en.US"/>
In this case i am assuming that while registering template you have specified langugae as 'English' and territory as 'United States', if you have not specified any territory then replace US with 00 for default.
This is supported in XML pub 5.6.3 patch-set ,so if you have not upgraded to 5.6.3 then this will not work.
I would suggest that please upgrade it to 5.6.3 ,becuase lots of bugs have been fixed in 5.6.3.
    Hope this helps

  • Remove RMAN information from target control file

    Dear Gurus,
Can any one inform me that how I can remove RMAN related information from Target database control file.
    Regards,
    asif

    Recreate the Controlfile.
    1. Generate the script with "ALTER DATABASE BACKUP CONTROLFILE TO TRACE;"
    2. Shutdown the database
    3. Obtain the script from the tracefile in user_dump_dest
    4. Run the CREATE CONTROLFILE portion of the script
Note : Oracle generally advices a Cold Backup before doing a CREATE CONTROLFILE. If you edit the script and inadvertently miss one or more datafiles from the CREATE command, those datafiles would no longer belong to the database and you wouldn't be able to "add" them back -- you'd have to RESTORE the controlfiles and database.
Recreating the Controlfile clears all information about recent backups from the controlfile. So this is not a step to be taken lightly. If you do this and, later, need to do a Restore/Recover operation, RMAN wouldn't find information. But that, based on a reading of your question, seems to be what you DO want to do.
