How to control width an height of a page region

Hi all.
How do i control width an height of a page region?. Say you have 4 regions on a page and want to tightly control these attributes, for example as a percentage of page dimension.
Is that possible?, Also can it be manipulated dynamically?
Best regards, Luis ....!

Hi Luis,
I don't know about dynamically but in the Region Attributes you can add 'style="width:100px" (or whatever value you want 10%, 25% etc.) to control the width
and to control the height you need to add:
<div style="overflow: auto; height: 450px;">(again or whatever size)
to the region header and
</div>to the region footer

  • How to Control Width / Align rightmost edge of sub regions on a page ?

    Hi folks
    Am Apex newbie using Oracle XE and 4.0.1 Apex to develop app on laptop before deploying to production.
    I have a page with region display selector and multiple sub-regions.
    Am using Theme as per the Issue Tracker packaged application.
    Problem is that my subregions on page align on left hand side but the subregions widths are different ... therefore page looks a bit scrappy / unprofessional as regions look a bit like
    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
    Is there any way to control / make the subregions widths the same so that screen looks better.
    Have spent ages moving individual fields on page to try and force sizes to match but with no luck .. so any help would be gratefully received as always.
    Thanks

    Hi-
    I was trying to align sub-regions side-by-side, I followed what Patrick suggested to put the following in the region's sub-region template.
    <div> #SUB_REGION# </div>then to be enable to put the subs side-by-side I had to put the following in the regions attributes.
    width: 300px; float: left
    that would align the subs side-by-side, I tried to change the template so I can use the attributes
    <div#REGION_ATTRIBUTES#> #SUB_REGION# </div>but when I ran the page I can see the following in the Firebug.
    <div #region_attributes#="">so no effect, am I missing something or what.

  • How to control the size and position of the region on a page?

    I am trying to create welcome page for my client. I need to create a banner and place the login region in the cente of the page with a fixed width and height. How can I do this.
    Thanks.
    Satya

    Hi,
    Edit your region and go to region header of your region
    and type this
    region header
    <table width ="100px" height = "100px">
    <tr>
    <td>
    region footer
    </td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    you can customize your region position in this way...just use table tag attributes,,i hav egiven example of only height and width but you can use all the table attributes to customize your region like background color,back ground image,alignment etc..
    hope this helps you,

  • How to get width and height of a jpg file ?

    Hello,
    I'm trying to insert a jpg file in a blob field on my database. The problem is that I need to get the file width and height in pixels. My class does not have a graphic interface, it's a batch. Does anybody has an idea of how can I do that ?
    tia.

    Write a jpeg decoder that can figure out how to determine the width/height of a jpeg file? Google it.
    Or if you're really lazy, load each jpeg using the
    Toolkit.loadImage( URL ) function and use getWidth/getHeight from there, but that's slow.

  • How to get WIDTH and HEIGHT fields from applet tag?

    I am developing an applet using JDK1.1 (to ensure microsoft jvm compatability).
    A problem I'm facing is that there are no getWidth() or getHeight() method for Applet in 1.1, so I am hoping I can get this info from my html: <APPLET CODE="MyApplet" WIDTH=600 HEIGHT=856></APPLET>
    getParameter didn't work, so does anyone have any ideas how I could get the width and height?
    Cheers,
    James

  • How to control X-UA-Compatible  tag  in page head section?

    Hello !
    We are developing WebCenter Portal applications using JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.
    All our pages are based on ADF.
    Currently, we have 2 similar projects (actually – they are two different branches of same source project).
    But the have one unexpected difference - when I check html-code of generated pages in one project I see
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
    <html class="p_AFMaximized" dir="ltr" lang="ru"><head><meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="*IE=8.0*"><link rel="stylesheet" charset="UTF-8" type="text/css" href="/portal/adf/styles/cache/portal-desktop-3kotcg-ltr-ie-8.0.css"> ...
    And in another:
    <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
    <html class="p_AFMaximized" dir="ltr" lang="ru"><head><meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="*IE=7.0*"><link rel="stylesheet" charset="UTF-8" type="text/css" href="/portal/adf/styles/cache/portal-desktop-dkw9cq-ltr-ie-7.0.css">
    We have no ideas why one generate content="IE=7.0" and another content="IE=8.0".
    We compared all possible configuration files, but have not find any difference.
    I've googled, but found only post by Frank Nimphius that is applicable to 11.1.1.4. As far as I understand in that version ADF didn't put meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" in page head section.
    The problem is that our pages looks awfully in IE7. And we don’t have to provide IE7 compatibility.
    So, my question is - why one project generate content="IE=7.0" and another – 8.0 and how to control it?
    Thank you in advance,
    Boris

  • How to control width of Design pod in RH8?

    Hi all,
    This is just a UI annoyance, but I'd like to get around it. I'm working in RH8.
    When I'm in the Design/HTML pod, the ruler across the top of the pod extends beyond the right margin. Consequently, a scroll bar appears across the bottom of the pod.
    When working in the pod, entering long lines of text causes the window to scroll left and right automatically, and I can't see the entire line of text I've entered.
    Increasing/decreasing the width of the pod doesn't change this behavior - the ruler across the top scales with the pod size. Moving the right margin/tab marker doesn't help either.
    Is there any way to control the pod width so I can see a full line of text w/out a scroll bar at the bottom? I'm guessing it's something easy - just haven't found it yet.
    Thanks all,
    Patrick

    Hi all
    I'd like to offer a wee bit of clarificaition.
    There is no such thing as a "Tab Stop" in the world of HTML. As such, there is no such thing as a "Tab Stop" in the RoboHelp HTML ruler. These are simply visual ways to adjust the margins on the HTML page.
    I'd hate to see a rash of posts where folks are suddenly asking where they can insert tab stops in RoboHelp HTML.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Fix width and height of accordion

    Hi All
    I am building an application using jquery accordion on region 3 of page 0. In each subregion I have a treeview and when a node is choosen shows details about this node. My issue is how to fix width and height of accordion. I tried with jquery tabs instead of accordion and I put this on region header 'style=\"overflow-x:auto;display:block;max-width:340px;min-width:340px;overflow-y:auto;max-height:450px;min-height:450px;";" ', and closing tag at region footer and it worked.
    Any idea?
    Thanks a lot.
    Ricardo
    Theme: 13
    EPG
    Version: 4.0.2.00.06

    Hi Jitu
    Thank you for your replay but it didn't work as I need.
    I made the following test. I put on region attribute \style="width:350px;". When each subregion of accordion has only a treeview, it didn't work. When I created another subregion into accordion with a simple report, it worked fine.
    I don't know what is going on and also how to fix it.
    Any other idea?

  • How  to  save  content of a  whole  swing  page

    Hi everyone ..
    can any of u tell me ,how to save contents of a java swing page in a single file with all components viz . textfield,textarea,JTable,JPanel etc .. with their respective formatting ie.e Font,Color etc ..
    Plz let me know it soon .. its very urgent ..
    Can I save it as Screenshot or Jpeg Image .. or how to go about it .

    Sure: see below!
    WARNING: this code will not compile as is because it uses some other classes from my personal code library (FileUtil & StringUtil). The particular methods of those classes which are used below are trivial methods that anyone can write, which is is why I have not posted them as well. So, to get the code below to compile, you can
    a) write your own versions of these classes or
    b) simply add the necessary methods to this class or
    c) simply comment out their usage (in the case of StringUtil, which is just used for arg checking)

    * Class which supports taking screen shots of the entire desktop, AWT Components, or Swing JComponents.
    * This functionality is implemented in a series of <code>take</code> methods, each of which returns a BufferedImage.
    * This class also offers convenience <code>write</code> methods for storing BufferedImages to files.
    * <p>
    * The images taken by this class should be the precise images seen on the screen.
    * <b>However, the images written to files may deviate from the originals.</b>
    * One obvious cause is limitations of the chosen file format (especially with lossy formats like jpeg).
    * A subtle issue can occur, however, even when using lossless formats like png:
    * if the file is subsequently opened by another application,
    * that application may rescale the image, which can often cause visible artifacts.
    * <blockquote>
    *     To see this last problem on Windows XP,
    *     call {@link #take()} which returns an image of the entire desktop and write it to a file,
    *     and then open the file with XP's default graphics file viewer ("Windows Picture And Fax Viewer").
    *     This program shrinks the desktop image in order to fit it inside the program's window,
    *     and rescaling artifacts are readily seen, especially if the desktop image has any kind of text in it.
    *     If "Windows Picture And Fax Viewer" instead cropped the image or had a scroll pane, then this should not happen.
    * </blockquote>
    * <p>
    * Acknowledgement: this class was inspired by the program
    * <a href="http://www.discoverteenergy.com/files/ScreenImage.java">ScreenImage</a>.
    * Differences from the above program:
    * <ol>
    *  <li>this class uses {@link BufferedImage#TYPE_INT_ARGB} instead of {@link BufferedImage#TYPE_INT_RGB} in order to preserve alpha</li>
    *  <li>this class's {@link #formatNameDefault default image file format} is PNG instead of JPEG</li>
    *  <li>this class's <code>take</code> methods simply take snapshots and never have the side effect of writing image files</li>
    *  <li>this class added a version of <code>take</code> which can get a snapshot of a region of a Component</li>
    *  <li>
    *          when taking a snapshot of a region of a Component or JComponent,
    *          the Rectangle that specifies the region always has coordinates relative to the origin of the item
    *  </li>

    * <p>
    * It might appear that this class is multithread safe
    * because it is immutable (both its immediate state, as well as the deep state of its fields).
    * However, typical Java gui code is not multithread safe, in particular, once a component has been realized
    * it should only be accessed by the event dispatch thread
    * (see <a href="http://java.sun.com/developer/JDCTechTips/2003/tt1208.html#1">Multithreading In Swing</a>
    * and <a href="http://java.sun.com/developer/JDCTechTips/2004/tt0611.html#1">More Multithreading In Swing</a>).
    * So, in order to enforce that requirement, all methods of this class which deal with components
    * require the calling thread to be the event dispatch thread.
    * See the javadocs of each method for its thread requirements.

  • Page Region Height

    Is there a way to specify a height for a page region and/or portlet?

    Yeah,
    In the edit view of the page you'll see a pencil symbol on each region. Clicking on this allows you to edit a region's properties.
    Under the region properties you'll find both Region height and region width.
    The default for region height is unspecified.
    There isn't a way to specify the height of a portlet specifically. They just expand to fill the available space. The only way to do it would be to code your own.

    >>if i am rendering html from MemoryStreamor string in webbrowser control in wpf It's not applying this css
    Yes it does. If you for example add background-color: yellow; to the stlyle you will see that the page turn yellow:
    strHtml = strHtml.Replace("<body>", "<body style=\"-webkit-column-width:800px; background-color: yellow; overflow:visible !important; -moz-column-width: 800px; column-width: 800px; -webkit-column-gap: 0px; -moz-column-gap: 0px; column-gap: 0px; -webkit-column-rule: 0px solid #000;-moz-column-rule: 0px solid #000;column-rule: 0px solid #000; height:800px; ; margin:0px; -moz-margin:0px;-webkit-margin:0px;display:block;\">");
    If the styles doen't get applied as expected it is a browser issue. The WebBrowser control emulates Internet Explorer in IE7 rendering mode by default.  You will have to change some registry settings to change this behaviour. Please refer to the following
    links for more information:
    http://weblog.west-wind.com/posts/2011/May/21/Web-Browser-Control-Specifying-the-IE-Version
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/cf66e0cd-ab6f-45b8-b230-1d78f26670d2/opening-links-from-wpf-webbrowser-control-in-default-browser-instead-of-ie?forum=wpf
    -moz-column-width only works in FireFox for example.
    You may also navigate to an actual page and inject some javascript function that for example adds the styles to the body element dynamically or set the style properties of the body element directly:
    private void Window_Loaded(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e)
    MainBrowser.Navigate(@"E:/Epubs/ePub2_Sample05_Biology_SampleChapter_EN/OPS/ch01.xhtml");
    MainBrowser.LoadCompleted += new LoadCompletedEventHandler(webb_DocumentCompleted);
    private void webb_DocumentCompleted(object sender, NavigationEventArgs e)
    WebBrowser webBrowser = (WebBrowser)sender;
    dynamic doc = webBrowser.Document;
    //int _scrollWidth = (int)webBrowser.InvokeScript("execScript");
    //mshtml.HTMLDocument webDocument = (mshtml.HTMLDocument)webBrowser.Document;
    mshtml.HTMLScriptElement script = (mshtml.HTMLScriptElement)doc.createElement("script");
    script.setAttribute("type", "text/javascript");
    script.innerHTML = "function doSomething(){ /* do something here... */ }";
    //add script to the head
    dynamic head = doc.getElementsByTagName("head")[0];
    head.appendChild(script);
    mshtml.HTMLBody body = (mshtml.HTMLBody)doc.getElementsByTagName("body")[0];
    body.style.background = "yellow";
    //set any body.style property here...
    webBrowser.InvokeScript("doSomething");
    That's about it as far as WPF is concerned.

  • How to create a map that is larger than the game in width and height?

    hi,
    i wounder how i can create a map(not the design) that is larger than the game in width and height, part of it will appear in the main page and anther part you can move to it after you press the arrow symbol, but the map is just one image so i want put it in line and out line the game page, and the out line part includes buttons and symbols the player can use, but it will be in line and the other part will be out line when you press the left arrow or the down arrow, how i can do that?
    and is that possible to animate it so when the player press the arrow, will give it action to start the animation in one sec, i know how to animate it if that possible but i don't know which code i will use for the mouse click with the arrow symbol, and how to use the same code in the same symbol to start anther animation depending on which part of the map is on?

    I don't know a lot about mask and masked layers and how to work with the normal layers beside i will use some 3D graphics but not in the background, i will explain all this to you to be more clearly.
    first i am using action script 3.0
    close ex,
    you have 2d map"image"  900*300 pixel.
    this image contains some 2d symbols when you click will go to anther normal map (anther normal layer) so they must appear.
    your game 320*320 px, and the place the map will show on 300*300, and there's basics objects will be in most pages including the page that show the map so i don't know a lot about how this will work with mask layers.
    so you can only see the left side of the map image and what it contains, while there's two arrows one to the left and one to the right there's three cases here,
    first when it show the left side(start from x:0 to x:300), the left arrow will not active when you press and the right arrow will start an animation that make the map image move to the mid side in one sec when you press.
    in mid side (start from x:301 to x:600) the same left arrow will active when you press to send you back to the left side while the same right arrow will be active to send you not to the mid side but to the right side,
    when moved to the right side the same left arrow will be active to send you to the mid and the right will not active when you press and depending on that,
    first how to make the large image appear with the three sides in the same place without effecting the other objects "like disappearing them" ?
    and the codes i need in the same left or right arrow symbol to make different actions with the same symbol when clicked depending on which part of the map is on.

  • How to find out which plugin is missing ( embed width="100%" height="100%" messagecallback="parent.frames.MANIPULATIONS.AppendMessage" spinfps="15" spiny="30")?

    How to find out which plugin is missing fro mthe website: http://web.it.nctu.edu.tw/~twli/interactive/scr_tutf.htm?
    After looking at one similar question found in mozilla support and answered by jscher2000 (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/957655), I have found out I have to look for either &lt;object or &lt;embed. What I found is : &lt;embed width="100%" height="100%" messagecallback="parent.frames.MANIPULATIONS.AppendMessage" spinfps="15" spiny="30"
    What do I have to do now?

    This big1.mol (and possibly big2.mol) file is loaded in the embed plugin object that is opened in a iframe, so you can right-click the plugin area to check the embed code.

  • How do you change the image size and resolution in photoshop everytime I change the width the height changes my measurements will not stay

    Can someone assist me with changing image size and resolution.  each time I change the width the height changes and vice/versa?

    There's a chain link between width and height. The point is to keep the aspect ratio the same, otherwise your picture would get stretched.
    You click on the chain-link to shut that off and you can adjust width and height separately.
    Also could you give us your version of Photoshop, what OS you are running it on (Windows 7 for example) and what exactly you want to do with your document?
    Resolution is the print term for how many pixels will be printed on an inch of paper. It doesn't apply if your image is intended for screen viewing.

  • How do I save the width and height of a photo for repeated use?

    How do I save the width and height of a picture for repeated use, rather than having to enter it each time in the 'new file' box?
    Thanks,  Ed Jackson.

    It could be that I'm older and have forgotten. I'm now 73 and will admit I have forgotten many things over the years. I have been using Photoshop since Photoshop version 3.  And can not really recall which features or changes were made in ever version of Photoshop I have installed.  Adobe has added many features over the years. The number of bugs introduce has also greatly increased after CS3.  "New Doc Sizes.psp"  in your user id preferences is edited using the two buttons in the new document dialog.
    As for guide lines in new documents Photoshop CS6 or CC seem to add some for video file presets with guide lines.  I do not know how to edit or add guide line to new doc presets. Guide line actions are easy to create. I have also seem some guideline in new documents when I did not expect any perhaps a new bug. Photoshop like most software has bugs. If you do not see Adobe new presets perhaps you copied an old  "New Doc Sizes.psp"  over Adobe's newer default file or Adobe migrared you presets and wand wiped their presets out. There are bugs. Close Photoshop down and rename your current  "New Doc Sizes.psp"  in you user id Photoshop cc preferences folder and start Photoshop it will add a dedault  "New Doc Sizes.psp"  file see if you see Adobe new presets in the new doc pull down when you select video and film...
