How to convert xml String to xml file?

I got a method that do the following:

     }The return String is the contents of an existing xml file and one example is shown below:

and I want to change the above string to xml file like below:

The appropriate tags must be taken care of like > must be > and < must be <.

If you are creating your XML "by hand" then just make sure your hands know that you have to do that. It isn't difficult to write a Java method to do it, if "by hand" means "in Java code". Otherwise your XML is not well-formed. And as far as I know there is no package that takes ill-formed XML and fixes it up.

i have some other doubt.. regarding xml
i want to post an XML file from one server(Server_1) to other server.(Server_2)
To generate an xml file i used DOM in Server_1.
using xml.transform , StringWriter i converted it into String.
I post the string to another server and there i will parse it.
for that i write the code like below in servlet in server_1

<input type=hidden name=xmlFile value="+Xmlstring+">
<input type=submit >is this process is correct?
Some of the turorial told that use web-services/XML-RPC
but i new to both..

How to convert a string-xml placed inside an xml tag to xml format.

I have a invoke activity to invoke Web service(code snippet from bpel) .The text in bold is a string that gets formed based on some condition using concat inside while loop .Before calling the WS i need to convert this string into xml
Any idea how can we do this ?

Conversion of xml string to xml file

To convert xml string to xml file in java i used
Document XMLDoc=DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance().newDocumentBuilder().parse(new InputSource(new StringReader("<root><main>Title</main></root&g t;")));
But it is showing an error as InputSource cannot be resolved
How to rectify this

I assume you mean there is a compiler error? (It helps if you explain your problem instead of just giving a vague description of it.) It sounds like you have to import InputSource. You do know about the import statements that go at the beginning of a Java class, don't you?

However, the xml i have is an extract from a exchange rate URL and it has the reference to a xsl in it as below

So there is an error in sxmb_moni. Is it possible to remove this.

XML string to XML parsing in JCD

I have stored an XML file as a CLOB in the Oracle DB. While fetching this data into JCD using Oracle OTD, I am getting this CLOB field as a string containing the XML. Now I want to parse this XML string to XML, as I need to map the individual fields to an XSD OTD, which will be my output.
Kindly suggest a way to achieve this.

An XSD OTD has an unmarshalFromString() method:
inputFormat.unmarshalFromString( strData );
When putting the XML into the CLOB it could be a good idea to wrap an outputstream into a Writer object in order to make certain that the encoding is correct, depending how the data is represented. When retrieving CLOB data using getCharacterStream() you will get a Reader object where the encoding is already given.

I'm trying to figure out how to convert a String (specifically one letter) to an Icon for a JTree. The program I am working on uses .png files for the icons at the moment, with each .png being a single uppercase letter. However, recent discussion has us wanting to change to something more dynamic, since we anticipate needing new letters in the near future.
My task is to modify the current codebase so that the Icons used to identify nodes in the tree are created from a Font within code, rather than reading in .png files. I have done some experimenting with creating a Label with just that String, setting the font and trying to extract the image using calls like createImage(int width, int height) and so on, but so far to no avail.
If I could figure out how to at least convert the String to an image, I could probably make it work (since I can play around with creating an ImageIcon with that image). Thanks in advance for any help.

The x,y values passed into paintIcon are the upper-left hand corner of the icon,

In your post you ask how to convert a string value to a date. The value returned from the Get-AdUser is already a date. It does not need to be converted.
Bill has sshown one way to convert a date to a string and there are other methods. You need to clarify your question.
If you are really trying ot convert strings to dates then you can start with this:
[datetime]'01/21/1965 13:33:23'
Most date strings aer autodetected by the class.
