How to count row in a channel with VB

Hello every body,
First, I'm quite new in VB script and I hope you will excuse me if the question seems stupid. I have several columns with an undefined number of row (for each file; the number of row will be different). As I want to automate the process, I need to know how many row I have per channel, each time I load data from a file (created by a LV programm)

There are several ways get the the number of rows, here are two:
L1 = Data.Root.ChannelGroups(1).Channels("Temp_F").Properties("length").Value
L2 = CL("[1]/Temp_f")
The first one is the object oriented method, the second one used the variable CL (Channel Length) to get the number of rows. They both work, and are up to your preference ...

Based on my understanding, you want to calculate the count of the group fields, right?
In your scenario, if you use Count(Fields!A.Value), the expression returns a count of specified values evaluated in the dataset scope. So it’s expected that you get count of all Fields!A.Value instead of grouped fields. Since you want to calculate the count
of grouped column fields, you should use CountDistinct() function.
As we tested in our environment, we specify the expression with CountDistinct() function, we can get expected result.

Hi,
In a Table 50 Columns are there and 10 Records are there. In those 10 records are not inserted all columns (Some are null values). How to find The Count of Record (Row) Values .
For Example

In the Above table, how to find
the count of values in 1st record is 5
the count of values in 2nd record is 2

How do i use a Aux channel with reverb from two different patches

I have a Concert with an Aux channel strip for Reverb and i want two seperate patches to both use Send 1 with different amounts/level of reverb but when i move the fader on the patch and then go to the other patch the fader has moved back to the down position

P.S i know i can do it with two separate buses but want to keep it tidy

1: select an instrument channel, go the parameter of the channel then change the midi channel to "ALL"
2: insert the Multitimbral sampler of your choice ( RMX, hypersonic or what ever) and load the sounds you want onto them
3: open environment, in the environment parameter it shows AUDIO click hold it and select ALL OBJECT, then go to view and untick "BY TEXT"
4: connect the GM DEVICE to the channel that has the Multitimbral Sampler on it'll ask Do you want to remove the channels port setting? click remove
thats it
Now go to the arrange window and you can use all the 16 midi channels to control one Multitimbral Sampler
that means midi channel 1 will control what ever sound is loaded in the first slot on the Multitimbral Sampler

how is it possible to get more then one row by calling a BAPI from the WD. In my Application I need the rows of a Table coming from the r/3 System. How is it possible to get all the rows after the first call? What is the logic behind it? My purpose is also to create an own BAPI.

If I understand, you don't want display the result into a Web Dynpro Table. If so, after the execution, the result of your request is stored into the context. Then you don't really need to transfert the data from your context to an Java Array.
But if you want to do it, here is the code :
guess your result node called

How Can I separate my MIDI Channels with layered instruments in MainStage 2 With my Axiom 61?

I have been at it for 3 days straight. I want to play an internal instrument (EVB3 for example) and trigger samples with the EXS24 without triggering notes from the other instrument. I have my keyboard set to MIy help meDI channel 1 and my drum pads set to MIDI channel 10. The still play together. I've tried changing MIDI input on both channel strips to multitimbral, Channel 1 for the keyboard and channel 10 for the drum pads. Still playing together. I've tried changing attributes in the Mapping screen. Still...
I don't think its the Axiom. I've tried changing MIDI CC numbers but then it won't talk to either instrument. I'm currently using MIDI cables into a 3rd generation M-Box. I've tried using USB as well. Please, somebody help me!!

Sorry for the late responce, I've been in program mode and haven't had a chance to come back to this.
I figured it out. It was an option that I had over looked in the Assignments & Mapping tab in Edit Mode. At the bottom of the window that says All Devices. In that menu there is another tab that says Channel 1-16. If you click where it says Unassigned, down in the Screen Control Inspector there is a checked box that says "Send unassigned MIDI to all Channel Strips". If you uncheck that box then everything works perfectly. It is a little extra work having to assign the keyboard everytime you ad a channel strip but when you have to do some serious programming it's worth it.
Anyone who needs to program with multiple devices should uncheck this right out of the gate. It will save you from pulling your hair out.

How to count number of xml nodes , with JSTL XML api?

I am trying to count the number of nodes in the parsed xml by doing this:
<x:out select="count($doc/Items/Item)"/>
There are about 50 item nodes in the source xml, but I get the output as 0
Is this syntax correct?
I searched every where but couldn't find the xpath syntax to be used inside jstl xml tags, I was assuming that it's the same as the syntax used in xslt

Check the section Adapter Specific Message Attributes from this help section:

The parameters can be set in the Message Mappinga nd then using the appropriate options in communication they can be included in the message header....for more info search with keywords "Dynamic Configuration" and you will get to know how the procedure works.

Counting rows for db tables with 500 million+ entries

SE16 transaction timesout in foreground when showing number of entries for db tables with 500million+ entries. In background this takes too long.
I am writing a custom report to get number of records of a table and using OPEN CURSOR concept to determine number of records.
Is there any other efficient way to read number of records from such huge tables.

Is any key-fields?
Use a variable to keep a counter of the key-fields , for example row_table and also a low and high variable .
Try to use a do-loop and in this loop use:
do .
low_row = row_table.
low_high = row_table + 200.000.:increse the select every 200.000 entries
Do "select statement into table" based on the key-fields
For example : if the key-field is the docnr,
Do a "select into table itab where docnr >low_row
                                        and docnr < low_high"
Count the lines of itab and keep them in a variable.
free the itab.

In InfoCube I have data:
person ID (characteristic), points (key figure), gendre (characteristic), org.unit (characteristic)
1313; 10; F;5001
1313; 10; M;5001

1313; 6; M;5001
1515;20;F;5001
Report, with data from this InfoCube, should look like this:
org.unit/number of employees, 6 points, 10 points, 12 points, 20 points
5001, 1, 2, 1, 1
Could you give me a suggestion how I can count the number of employees?

you can crate 4 CKF one each for employee points, and in each of the CKY have a data function value =1 if <your condition is satisfied>. This way the CKY will have a value of 1 if point is 6 for the first CKY and similarly for the rest and use exception aggregation based on person ID to count the no. of employees with that particular point in the Org unit. Use org unit in the rows and these 4 CKY in the columns and you should be able to get the report.

How to include row count in report

I have a report which shows list of available classes for students to register. One table called reg (which is not included in the report) keeps student_id and class_id numbers so that we know who signed up for which class.
I'd like to count rows in the reg table and group them by classid and then include results in the report so that we know how many students already signed up for each class. How can I do that?

I assume that you are providing the report with some SQL to pull in the available classes. Why don't you put in a sub select where you are doing a count on the other table?
So for example,
SELECT a.CLASSID, a.CLASSNAME, (SELECT COUNT(*) FROM STUDENTS where CLASSID = a.CLASSID ...Your group by, etc...) as Current FROM CLASSES

You don't, you execute a query whose result is the record count of those records that match the search and then you execute the actual query to create your record set. Typically you do
select count(id) from YourTable where [filter]
from the resulting ResultSet do
int res.getInt(1);
which gives you the count and then
select id from YourTable where [filter]
to produce the actual result set.
in the second query the id part can be substituted with the actual fields you want.

Counting rows with a particular value

Hello. I recently posted this thread Count java problem for how to count an attribute.
Now I need that count to be limited to a certain value inside the attribute.
let me clarify. I have a table Casinos, which is connected to a table SlotsInCasinos, which is further connected to SlotMachines in a many to many with SlotsInCasinos being the intersection.
The previous post that I mentioned (thanks Timo by the way) told me how to count all the slots in a particular casino.
Now I would like to know how I could count all the slots of a particular value (for example Poker slot Machines, regular Slot machines, etc) instead of the total count in a particular object.
So on the page I would have lets say 2 output texts, one showing the number of Poker Slot Machines in that particular casino and the other showing the number of regular Slot machines in that particular casino (a third could show the number of some third kind of slot machines).

I created a view object called Test, based on the entity object SlotMachinesInCasino. I then created a view link TestLink and created a master detail relationship (the same one I already had for the View Object SlotMachinesCasinosVO.
The difference is in the query for test I put the following

    TIPOVI_APARATA.NAZIV_APARATA = 'Evona'My thinking was that if I do this the estimated row count function for this will just give me the number of Evona Game machines. I tried it out in an SQL Worksheet and it gives back only the Evona machines.
Unfortunately when I create the TestIterator and then drop output text whose EL is the estimated row count for the test iterator it does not work as intended. It counts all the Slot Machines in the Object no matter the Name.
So it gives a number equal to all the slot machines instead of to the number of slot machines with name 'Evona'.
What did I do wrong?

I think you can only use audio if it's recorded on channel 1 or it does not recognize it.
