How to create a cookie in PEI?

I’m trying to create a cookie in OnAfterLogin event, using the ApplicationData class method SetCookie(string,string), but some reason cookie is not created in the Temporary Internet Files.
Basically I need to use this cookie in other application to check the portal community access.

It worked with following code, Cookie values username and ID are getting from the session.
     HttpCookie MyCookie = new HttpCookie("PTUser");                    MyCookie["PTUser"] = USername;          MyCookie["PTUSerID"] =      UserID;          MyCookie.Expires = DateTime.Now.AddDays(1d);                         XPCookie aCookie = new XPCookie(MyCookie);                         _appData.SetCookie(aCookie);
