I'm currently doing a college project which is a instant messenging system. The system will have the client-server network and peer-to-peer network. The client-server network part has been finished but i still facing the problem to write the code to enable two pc communicate with each other by using a server that use in the client-server part .

I think that i can help u in this respect.
Let me see what you are suggesting.
You have two or more servers which need to be aware of on another.
you have clients which can be connecting on any of the servers.
you need these clients to be aware of each other.
well....to do this you need to take a lot of factors into account.
1. you can use a central server and redirect accordingly.
2. use distributed servers.
this is the more difficult part as you need to keep track of the server timezone.
you need to keep track of the up and downtime of your servers.
when servers are up or down you need to distribute clients accordingly.
The second approach is more robust and known better as load balancing.

There are two ways of doing it, depending on what you want to accomplish. Both require that you edit the file ~/.bashrc (I assume you use bash)
1) If the application places all the executable files in a given directory (let's say /opt/Application/bin/), you can access all those executables directly by simply telling your shell where to look (in the same way the shell automatically looks for executable files in eg. /usr/bin). In ~/.bashrc, you would have to add a line that looks like this:
PATH="$PATH:/opt/Application/bin"
2) If you just want to make a traditional "shortcut" that executes a given command, this can be done with alias. Add this command to your ~/.bashrc:
alias shortcut="some command"
In this case, typing shortcut into a terminal will be interpreted just like if you had typed some command instead.
In order to try out these changes, either restart your terminal or run this command:
source ~/.bashrc
[EDIT]

PDF is a proprietary format and Java doesn't support it by default. Are you using a 3rd party tool to create the PDF? If so, you need to review the developer docs to see how to make the document non-editable. Frankly, I don't see why you're using an Applet to view a PDF in the first place. What exactly are you trying to do. I'm confused.

Which kind of pulse you are measuring ?? You are saying that you want to count a number of pulses and then when you get to a limit (which will be between 3 and 10) you want to output a pulse ?

The wait state has a short delay, determined by the minimum time you can delay responding to a changed condition, and a check to see if the required elapsed time has occurred. If the time has not elapsed, the next state is the Wait state again. The state machine can repeat any state as often as necessary. So a 15 second delay could be implemented by going to a Wait state with a one second wait 15 times. Any error or new command will see a response in no more than one second.

I was trying to create a report that uses Oracle OCI JDBC connectivity. I am using Eclipse3.4 download from "cr4e-all-in-one-win_2.0.2.zip". I have successfully created a JDBC OCI connection.
The connection parameters are given below:

Hi Ted,
Thanks for the feedback. I was able to create a report in Creystal Reports Designer 2008 using OCI. It is not allowing only in the Eclipse plugin. In our environment we are not allowed to user Oracle thin connections and ONLY OCI is allowed.
1) Can you please let me know if there is a way to do this?
2) Will it allow data sources using native database driver?
3) If so, can I use JRC to create these reports from a desktop java program?
