String are immutable so just initialize it with the number of characters you want.
You might want to look at java.lang.StringBuffer and see if that's what you want.

How do I create a pdf with the correct size? I created several albums and ordered them. Now I want to backup the album and I know how to create a pdf, but when I choose A5 it's to big, when I create my own size it's not the size it should be. The original (made with iphoto) is a small size album 200x150mm. But when I create my own size (200x150) it shows some white borders.

Books are designed for and printed on 8.5 x 11 inch stock, US Letter size. You shouldn't have to select any size. While viewing the All Pages mode in the book Control-Click on the page and select Save Book as PDF from the contextual menu.
That will create a PDF that iPhoto uses to upload and print. Not all pages will be the same size as the dust jacket will be present in it's full size, 32.8 inches x 8.91 inches:
If you want a PDF that's designed for your own printing the type Command+P while viewing the All Pages window. In the first print window click on the PDF button. It will present you with a contextual menu where you should select Save as PDF. That will give you an 8.5 x 11 PDF file with all pages the same size.

Hi Marc,
You can use the DocStart and DocEnd commands along with the PicPrint command to spool multiple print commands to the same output PDF file using the direct printer approach. This should enable you to programmatically specify the page size differently for each sheet that you add to the print job.

How to create an employee with a specific effective_start_date with api?

Hello,
I'm trying to create an employee through the hr_employee_api.create_employee (R12 Apps)
In Forms, if we want create it in a different date than sysdate, we use the "Alter effective date" screen... what this does is to copy into global.g_session_date variable the value we set.. and I suppose that this date is what api takes as sysdate to create an employee with desired effective_start_date.
But.. how to set it through Plsql procedure that call to create_employee api? p_per_effective_start_date is an out parameter... But after following the code through internal apis.. I didn't get to find where is that value set...
Any ideas?
If no one is passed, it's set to sysdate.. but what we want is to set this date to one specific...

sorry for a "quick" conclusion...
Although the session date wwill be set inserting in fnd_sessions.. the effective_start_date returned ..continues with the value of hire_date.
I've checked the screen behavior and it inserts directly into PER_ALL_PEOPLE_F (when we have a "normal" employee, not CWK) through per_people11_pkg.insert_row1 procedure.
So.. is there anyway with create_employee api to create an employee (CORRECTION p_datetrack_update_mode) with hire_date different from p_effective_start_date??

You can't as File is nor serializable. It won't make sense as you would try to give a handle to a file on the server hosting the service to a remote system.
Can you explain the use case in more detail?

There is no need to use String.valueOf.
Forward slashes are actually recognized as path separators:
inputFile = "/saves/" + jcomp9.getText() + "/file.txt";If that is not acceptable, remember that backslash must be escaped:

         How to create a node with attributes at runtime in webdynpro for ABAP? What classes or interfaces I should use? Please provide some sample code.
I have checked IF_WD_CONTEXT_NODE_INFO and there is ADD_NEW_CHILD_NODE method. But this is not creating any node. I this this creates only a "node info" object.
I even check IF_WD_CONTEXT_NODE but i could not find any method that creates a node with attribute.

As you see above I am trying to create 'DYNFLIGHT' along with the 2 attributes which are inside this node. The structure of the node that is, no.of attributes may vary based on some condition. Thats why I am trying to create a node dynamically.
Also I cannot define the structure in the ABAP dictionary because it changes based on condition

Yes I do have CRM Billing documents. But the problem is
a) either the billing document doesn't have Transfer to Accounting status Transferred or
b) a transferred billing document, but all items have error "Unable to offset billing item 90003458 0000000060" etc.
Do you know
1) how I can make a billing document have "Transferred" status? Pressing "Transfer to Accounting" button in the billing document overview page will only set the status to "Being transferred". And it's always being tranfered.
2) What does the error "Unable to offset billing item ... "mean? How to get rid of them?

It is just necessary overhead. Please explain why you (apparently) believe that the suggestion of a view will not meet your requirements.
