HOW TO CREATE an excel column or chart on word office 2011*

I can't create the right format on Excel Word 2011. on the  X axis i want to put years (1970-2050 but in 20 {1970; 1990; 2010}). Under the years, i want to put "census from 1970 until 2010. on the Y axis i want to put 10, 30, 50, upto 105). I have tried over and over, i can't do it. I need someone to teach me. I have looked on youtube, and the intruvtion it says, i do, but my excel sheet continues to do it wrong. I typed all the X axis on the left and the Y axis on the right, then i reversed it (x axis on the right, y axis on the left) both my colums ended up the same.
HELP???

I got an Idea... Say I will divide the 100-column report into 10-column report and each has the 3 primary key columns on the right attached. so I will have 10 individual pages but sharing same Tab?
How do I create a button "Next>" and "<Previous" so that the page will be displayed sequentially?You need to maintain the current page in session state and on "Next>" and "<Previous" action increment and decrement the value

    As I said in my previous post, column headers in Excel are merely row 1 cells. May be I missing something here, so please be more explicit with your question.
    I guess you are using the Excel Report tools, and you want to modify an existing sheet. From my limited experience with the Excel Report tools, it is not possible to open an existing woorkbook (except as template...), so the answer to your question should be "Forget it"...
    The work around is to use the example I pointed for you before, and either to write the whole new colum headers as a string array, starting in A1, or to write a single string to a given cell in row 1.

    From what I have seen Excel can not handle 999 999 999.00. You can use 999999999.00 and then format it as you want in the xls bt you can not have values like 999 999 999.00 coming from publisher output and have functions on the values in Excel

    When you create a request with only dimension columns, the Oracle BI engine has to choose a fact table to join the dimensions to each other. If you have multiple fact tables in your BMM layer, the Oracle BI engine will use the most economical fact table, depending on the number of dimensions of the fact table.
    In some cases you do not want to use this fact table, but you want to force the Oracle BI engine to use the fact table you want.
    In that case you should create a fact (or select an existing fact) of the fact table you want to use for the dimension only query. In the presentation catalog of the subject area you should select this fact as the implicit fact. This fact will always be used in the query, but it won't be visible in your report. An example of an implicit fact is the count of the primary key (id) of the fact table.

    Here are the steps I took to create an XSLT transformation in XI 3.0:
    1. I created my source and target XSDs using XMLSpy.
    2. I created the XSLT mapping from source to target in XMLSpy (referencing the souce XSD schema).
    3. I created another XSLT mapping to format the target into Excel XML.
    4. Import the source and target XSDs in the IR's External Definitions
    5. Zip each XSLT mapping (.xls) and import it into the IR's Imported Archives
    6. Reference the XSL mappings in the Interface Mapping

    Why not just use 2 columns?

    btw A tab in a list changes its level, option tab moves it to the next tab on the ruler. A silly choice to make it the opposite of common sense, but they followed the lead of MsWord on this one.

    Wondering if anyone can help this problem. I am analyzing network traffic between a PC and a Server. I can easily get a count of packets in each direction, PC1 to Server1 and the return path, Server 1 to PC1. But want I really want is a count

    Each row is a packet with fields like: Time, Source, Destination.
    For example

    I would like to create a new column that represents a conversation. So new have columns: Time, Source, Destination, Conv. To get something like this:

    Wes, I just got around to revisiting your problem. The solution I came up with is twofold. The first part is the creation of a custom function that generates a conversation ID in the form PC1_Server1, PC2_Server1 etc. The second part uses a lookup table
    for each unique combination of PC and server to return a conversation number (Conv1, Conv2...).
    First of all, the "NetTraffic" table (your original table) generates the following script

    As previously mentioned, the custom function generates combinations of PC and server, such that each combination represents a conversation.
    Next, I created a two-column "ConversationLookup" table in a worksheet, with entries like PC1_Server1|Conv1, PC2_Server1|Conv2, and so on.
    In the NetTraffic table, I did a merge with the ConversationLookup table, ensuring that the "Only Include Matching Rows" option is left unchecked (left join).
    Finally, I removed unwanted columns. Note: You don't need to use the lookup step if PC1_Server1, PC2_Server1 etc. serves your need for identifying a conversation.

    There are two examples that ship with Measurement Studio that demonstrate how to use the Measurement Studio C++ classes to interface to Excel. The examples are installed to the following locations by default:
    C:\Program Files\National Instruments\MeasurementStudioVS2003\VCNET\Examples\Office\ExcelAdvanced
    C:\Program Files\National Instruments\MeasurementStudioVS2003\VCNET\Examples\Office\ExcelReport
    The top level class that you use in this API is CNiExcelApplication. You should be able to find this through the Index in the Measurement Studio help.
    One point to note that this API controls the Excel application through its ActiveX automation interface. This is different than the approach you are using above and so will require that you write different code to accomplish your task.

    For 'on change of ' i have -> 1) update_month                                                                               
    2) update_source ( i have 2 values for this field -> website and ivr)
    And for 'show value' field i am trying to use 1) sum of valid_count
                                                                          2) sum of invalid_count
    -> I need two stacked bars for each month, each stacked bar belongs to either website or ivr and is made of valid and invalid counts for that particular update source.
    when i tried to use the fields as i mentioned above, i got an error saying
    'The data you have selected doesnt fit the chart type' and explanation is as follows 'This chart type requires 2 on change of fields and i show value field OR 1 on change of field and many show value fields'.
    I have selected a stacked bar chart.
    Does any one know how to do this?
