How to create an ITS iview

Hi,
Can any body tell me how to create an ITS iview using integrated ITS(ECC 5.0). Can someone suggest me step by step process of this?

u need to define ITS system in portal or set property ITS for ur r3 system by following.
ITS Description --->descprition
ITS host name-----> host.domin.com:80<instance number>
(host of r3 system)
ITS path -
>/sap/bc/gui/sap/its
ITS Protocol---->http/https
after defining the system create the tranasaction iview
and select gui type webgui.
or create SAP IAC iView

How to create simple "SAPGui" iView?

I'm looking for some pointers on how to create a simple iView that mimics SAPGui. Every client I've been to that looks at the Portal always asks, "How do I access SAP with this?" and they never like the standard answer, "You create iViews".
Anyway, I'm looking for something that would let me present the main menu of an SAP system inside the portal; providing a list of systems the users can access on the left side or lower navigation pane (e.g. an entry point iview with sub-tasks for each environment) would be really cool, but I have no idea how to go about creating this.
So far, I've figured out how to create an iView for a specific SAP transaction (not the S000 area menu though), and I've figured out how to create a role, assign that iView, and make the role an entry point so it shows up in the top level navigation, but I'm stumped on how to develop it further, preferably without a lot of programming.
Does anyone have any tips or pointers on where I should go next?

Thanks for the quick response. Two more questions arise out of some playing with this.
(1) The first iView in the list is always displayed automaticall; can I have it display an information page or blank page instead easily? In other words, if I have a "SAPGUI" role with a "Systems" folder in it, and the individual iviews in the Systems folder, whichever is first is automatically launched when I pick the "SAPGUI" tab in the navigation menu.
(2) Is there any way to get rid of the pop-up asking the user to open the *.ssd file to launch the SAPGUI for Windows? We don't have ITS, so SAPGUI for HTML doesn't work, and SAPGUI for Java generates errors when I try to use it....

Go to Content_Administration --> Click on Portal content -
> Go any of your Folder
Right click on the Folder and Click on New -
> Iview
Selct the 3rd Option webdynpro java applicaiton.
Select the iview as FULL page for one application
Then select the webdynpro application you deployed (it would be either under Local or in SAP.com folder)
Click on next,. and UNCHECK the Option where it would prompt to Create Page.. this is necessary only when u need a page
Click Finish , and Preview the Iview..
Suggestion : Always check on [help.sap.com |http://help.sap.com ] for any queries, which is the Bible for SAP reference.

hi, I am hanif i am new to portal,can anybody please tell me how to create a pop iView once the user logIn to the portal , iview shud popup like an normal window popup automatically and shud be closed by the request button pressed by the user.
is there any property of iView or can be done by programming only.Plz provide me assistance in the case.

Is it different from creating an Transaction iview for standard transaction?

check if there are any *.err files in cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\pcd\

copy the URL of the WDJ app iview in portal B, create a URL iview in portal A with that URL.

How to create a Query iView based on user's parameter?

Hello,
I've created a Query iView which depends on a Costumize parameter that the user enters - On stage 5 of the wizard I've entered a customize parameter on a certain field and called it "user_param". The wizard entered the Query: WHERE... = {$user_param}. So far so good...
My question is, after creating this iView, how Do I implement it at the Portal so the user will have a place to enter his parameter and receive the result?
when opening the Query I don't see such place. According to SPA's documentation, the user should enter the parameter at the "personalize" menu. When I put this iView in a page and open the "Personalize" menu there is no such place.
Which further configurations should I do in order it to work?

If you open the iview, there should be a personalize property or setting for the URL parameter. Make sure that it is set to read/write. I just got off a portal project where I did a few of these, but I don't have access to one right now, so I can't give you the exact steps, but you should get the idea.

You can create a JSP dynpage in portal application object, Which along with it creates JSP and dynpage. You can copy the html page and have it in JSP page. To make it display, include a statement in JSP dynpage as

How to create mast head iview

Hi,
I have downloaded com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead. i renamed project as MyMasthead.par after importing it in NWDS and the deployed the .par file. Now I want to create a masthead iview for this newly deployed .par file.
What type of iview should I select and how will I select MyMasthead.par for this Iview. I mean should I go for a iview template or webdynpro iview or portal component iview and then where will I select the Mymasthead.par .
Please give me the detailed steps for creating the iview for masthead from newly deployed par file..

As you said you can see your par file in "Systemadmin -> support ->supportdesk -> portal Runtime -> Browse Deployment"
Create Iview of Par component from the list of par files select your par file and navigate through wizard.
Now to show your customized masthead
Go to ->Content Administration-> Content provided by sap -> End User Content->standard portal user->open Default framework->Add you iview to it -> place it at the top using (Page layout) option->Uncheck standard masthead iview Visible option.

For creating Transaction iview you have to create a system first
goto system administration-System configuration-System Landscape-Portal content. right click and create new system. create dedicated r3 system.
Following are the system properties.
Application host-sap r/3 system
Login method-UIDPW
System id-R/3 system id
System number-R/3 system number
Port- 32+R/3 system number
System type-SAP_R#
User mapping type -admin,user
Then create a system alias
DO user mapping by going to User administration-User Mapping
Type Administrator and user.then click "edit"
DO the user mapping by selecting your system alias from the drop down
Then create an iview by going to content administration-portal content. right click new iview-Select SAP transaction iview. and give the necessary parameters(i.e:SE38).

I found this link below and i follow the instruction to create a sample of ITS application.
since i cant publish the link (dont know why )

And use report RSUSREXT
I follow the instruction step by step create template and web application and publish it.
while running it from the browser I stop in the handler class (via breakpoints )but when I press F8
I get in the browser the following error
The following error text was processed in the system QD8 : Template interpretation failed. Template does not exist.
The error occurred on the application server usciqd8_QD8_21 and in the work process 0 .
The termination type was: RABAX_STATE
The ABAP call stack was:
SYSTEM-EXIT of program SAPLSMTR_NAVIGATION

1) How to get GP API in EHP1 NWDS7.1 in NWDS 7.0 we can get by D/L gp_api_nw04s.zip,gp_TopLevelDCs.zip and xtracting these to

i done the same thing like above for NWDS 7.1(EHP1) but am not getting the GP Dependcies for development.How can i resolve this.
2) When am deploying the app with CE7.1(EHP1) app is deploying well but when output coming on browser its giving error , n i changed the browser settings in NWDS to all options but no use.
3)Am doing CO in which i have two action buttons(result states)for this am going like this

I have to create a particular headerless iView without the TLN and mast head, just like a iView is displayed when we preview it. And I cannot change the framework page of the desktop assigned to the user.

Its possible to open an iView/Page in a headerless window.
Open your iView/Page in a content admin -> set the properties Launch in new window to Display in seperate headerless window.
Also you can set the window's properties such as height, width, title etc by setting the property "Window Features".
