How to create an XML from Source Table

Hi,
I am new to ODI and have a requirement as part of our project -
Say have a table in Source schema with few columns and need to convert the same to XML format and insert the XML as a CLOB column in table of target schema.
There could also be a case where the XML generated in Source will have to be passed on to Target by calling a web service at target (through ODI)
Please help with all the steps required to achieve the same.

How to create an Hierarchy from 2 tables in Essbase

Hi,
Currently We have 5 dimension tables and one fact table in Star Schema Model.We have requirement to create an hierarchy which pulls from multiple tables
For Eg:
Table:1 P1 P2
Table:2 Q1 Q2
Expected Hierarchy :
P1
Q1
While we try to implement it shows inconsistent results.Can some one let me know the alterante solution to fulfill this requirement.

Your JOIN doesn't work?
You'd have to post what the tables look like, what you're joining on, etc., etc. You aren't supplying enough information.
I am (to put it kindly) a SQL hack. I have found that if I go to a company's dba with my childlike SQL and ask, "Can you improve this?" almost 100% of the time they take pity on me and improve my code to no end. I know that's not what a dba is really for, but they tend to like well formed SQL touching their databases. Failing that, is there someone at your firm that is good with SQL who can help? You're on an Essbase board, not a SQL board, so you are likely not going to get the help you need here.

How to Create file link from dynamic table.

Howdy -
I have MySQL database over PHP containing a simple table that lists a group of documents, including their file system address (contained within the site).
I've successfully created a recordset showing this table, and attached that to a dynamic table on a .php page. The display is correct, except I can't get the column contents to link to the document. The column just shows the text (title) of the document.
I've consulted article tn_15364 (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/153/tn_15364.html), but that doesn't seem to work...
Any thoughts would be appreciated. I'm sure this is pretty simple, but I'm coming up snake eyes.

To clarify:
My site has a folder where uploaded files (.doc, .xls, .pdf, etc.) are stored after having been uploaded by a user. During this upload process, the location of these files is stored, along with other identifying data, in a simple database table.
I have a dynamic table created in Dreamweaver that pulls from this database, listing the document name, etc. I would like the document name shown in a column to automatically link to the actual file so a user could just click on it and open the file.
I hope I'm not making sound more complicated than it is -

It says: "Primary Key must be specified."
But there is a primary key in the source database!

     In the Microsoft XML Document DOM there is a load function load(string) which will create an XML document, but now we are switching to Java and I do not know how to create and XML document from a string, this string �xml document� is passed to my program from a webservice and I need to read several xml elements form it in a web server.
This string is a well formatted XML document:

How to create Inbound Idoc from XML file-Need help urgently

can any one tell how to create inbound Idoc from XML file.
we have xml file in application server Ex. /usr/INT/SMS/PAYTEXT.xml' we want to generate inbound idoc from this file.we are successfully able to generate outbound XML file from outbound Idoc by using the XML port. But not able to generate idoc from XML file by using we19 or we16.
Please let me know the process to trigger inbound Idoc with out using XI and any other components.

Hi .. Did either of you get a result on this?
My question is the same really .. I am testing with WE19 and it seems SAP cannot accept an XML inbound file as standard.
I see lots of mention of using a Function Module.
Am I correct in saying therefore that ABAP development is required to create a program to run the FM and process the idoc?
Or is there something tht can be done with Standard SAP?

I need to create an datasource from the table TIV5T to get texts in BW .
This table is a pool table . When i want to create the DS in RSO2 i got the message :
Only transparent tables and database views can be extracted
I try to create a projection vue, or use the standard vue : same error.
Any Idea ??

Hi Johann,
You don't need a class to do the job if you are on a 6.10 or higher system. Use command CALL TRANSFORMATION to create an XML from an internal table.

My initial requirements are: seeking information on company code (emp), contract status (status) and / or effective date of contract settlement (dt_liq_efetiva) - a small amount of data to developers.
These three fields are present in the main system table (the table of contracts). Then I thought about ...
- create a temporary table from the query results table to contract;
- and then use this temporary table as a reference to fetch the data in other tables of the owner while maintaining integrity. But how? I have not found the answer, because: what to do when not there is the possibility of a join between the contract and any other table?

Well, I am working with release 9.2.0.8.0. But the planning is migrate to 10g this year. So my questions are:
With Data Pump can export data just from tables owned for me (SCHEMAS = MYOWNER) parameterizing the volume of data (SAMPLE) and filters to table (QUERY), right? But parameterizing a contract table QUERY = "WHERE status NOT IN (2,6) ORDER BY contract ":
1º- the Data Pump automatically searches for related data in other tables in the owner? ex. parcel table has X records related (fk) with Y contracts not in (2,6): X * SAMPLE records will be randomly exported?
2º- for the tables without relation (fk) and which are within the owner (MYOWNER) the data is exported only based on the parameter SAMPLE?

i need to write a oracle procedure, which when called generates xml doc (building xml from different tables in database.). i got the DTDs . but i still dont understand how can the data be pulled from diff tables and put in the one xml? can anyone give me rough idea.. i know that i have to use xmlquery and xml_save packages... but still not much clear..
