When i am using RS_CREATE_VARIANT to create a variant for a standard report then a message is coming that the 'Created variant is not of current version'. .How should i avoid this. If i want to create a variant of current version then what parameters have to populated in the FM.

How to create a multiplayer game for steam using flash/flex?

We've got a multiplayer game ready to go. Currently it is not multiplayer, but we'd like to get it to a stage where it can be played over the steam network by users of steam and owners of steam games.

Does steam host servers, and can we utilise a steam server to transfer data between players or would we have to run our own server?

iYou would want to use the SteamWorks API, which is available from Steam as a C++ library, but there is most likely an Adobe Native Extension (ANE) that would allow you to use the library in AS3.
I've never used SteamWorks but it seems to support peer-2-peer matchmaking (in other words, you wouldn't even need your own server, I think.)

How to create a data filter for BAPI used in a Distribution Model ?
I am trying to create IDOC's for a QM inspection plan via message type QPMK in ECC 6.0. When creating the new message type in the Distribution Model, it forced me to use a BAPI (MasterInspectionChar) rather that just the message as I have done in the past. In order to ensure that only IDOC's related to a specific plant and material type get sent out, I was trying to create a filter.
I am able to get into a 'Change Filter' dialog by double clicking 'No data filter set' under the node 'MasterInspectionChar.SaveReplica'. However, an attempt to highlight anything on this dialog and clicking button 'Create filter group' results in msg. 'Select node: Content-dependent parameter filtering'.
Online help led me in a different direction, one thread led me to believe I needed to create a table entry for the filter in table TBD16 via BD81 for later attachment to the BAPI in the Distribution Model. Before this, I created two Z* ALE Object Type records for plant and material type in table TBD11 via BD95 for what I thought would provide a lookup back in BD81 for creation of a new filter record, but these objects are not found. Per the help, I am also unclear as to whether I would need to set up Receiver determination or Parameter filtering, nor where to make this step in the configuration happen?
Can anyone point me back in the correct direction to get a data filter set up for this BAPI within the Distribution Model ?
Thanks - MikeJust to clarify, what I am having trouble with is finding where exactly to plug in the name of the plant to be filtered? If using a message type such as MATMAS in a distribution model, it is very straight forward to navigate down from the 'Data filter active', and assign a value to whatever field you wish to filter via the 'List of Values'. But in this example, message type QPMK required use of the BAPI MasterInspectionChar, and therefore the different method in creating the filter.
I cannot find similar functionality when navigating the BAPI related row, for MasterInspectionChar. The 'Change Filter' dialog popup displays a row for 'Container' and then 3 more rows containing 'BAPI structure...'. Clicking the 'Attribute' checkbox on any of these rows sets 'Data filter active' as a node under the BAPI. Double clicking the 'Data filter active' brings me back into the same dialog, and selecting any row with an attempt at this point to create a filter results in the 'Select node: content-dependent parameter filtering' warning. Is this warning occuring because of missing configuration?

SE36 and define your job while defineing when you define the step
give the name of the program then down of that you will have an option
of giving the variant use f4 then it will show the value which you have

will run with the variant.

I am afraid not.ATR are attributes files contains the object's full name, access controllist (ACL), description, and so on.Each catalog object has a corresponding attributes file, I am not sure why do you have to generate the atr files.In case you need info about atr files: http://businessdecisionsystems.com/blog/?p=7
If you have huge number of similar reports(with filter variations and same kind of layout), try to play around with the xml to minimize the development effort.

When you run a report program in foregorund(If you have a selction-screen), by pressing F8 button, it takes you to the screen where when you press execute button, the report is executed.
In this screen, you can enter the requirec values which you wish to store in the variables in the selection-screen and press SAVE button, then a variant will be created. You can create the required variants for your report and then when executing the same report in background, the process goes in this way,
Go to SE38->Program-> Execute->Background, there you can give the variant name and press EXECUTE IMMEDIATELY and your program runs in background for the given variant.

1. The ALV Grid Control is a tool with which you can output non-hierarchical lists in a
standardized format. The list data is displayed as a table on the screen.
The ALV Grid Control offers a range of interactive standard list functions that users need
frequently (find, sort, filter, calculate totals and subtotals, print, print preview, send list,
export list (in different formats), and so on. These functions are implemented in the
proxy object class. You as the programmer have the possibility to turn off functions not
needed. In most cases the implementations of the standard functions provided by the
control are sufficient. However, if required, you can adjust these implementations to
meet application-specific needs.
You can add self-defined functions to the toolbar, if necessary.
The ALV Grid Control allows users to adjust the layout of lists to meet their individual
requirements (for example, they can swap columns, hide columns, set filters for the
data to be displayed, calculate totals, and so on). The settings (list customizing) made
by a specific user are called a display variant. Display variants can be saved on a userspecific
or on a global basis. If such display variants exist for a list, they can be offered
to the user for selection. If a display variant is set as the default variant, the associated
list is always displayed based on the settings of this variant.

Can any one let me know the procedure as to how to create a t-code for a user defined PCA report. I have created a PCA report (copied the existing report (8a26-001) and named it as zpca and assigned the same in a new Report Group ZPCA (the group is created by copying 8a26 group) and assigned it under the library 8a2. We have added few fields required by the user to the Z report.
