One simple concept is,
Make dept only report call it as dept.rdf
Now create another report call it as emp_details.rdf,
Now in Dept.rdf. Make push button and call the emp_details repot by passing dept no varailble.

Your Drill through functionality is linked to an on line search website, giving you all necessary information.
During reporting, you need to have more information about selected region.
Before performing or using the Drill-Through feature, ensure that the following prerequisites have been met
1. You are logged on to any BPC Environment with administration authorizations
2. From home screen, Switch to the administration area by clicking planning and consolidation Administration link
Inside admin area you find Drill through maintainace in the content tree under the features node.
After opening the Drill through click on New button,
There we need to enter Id, Decription, URL and model name.
If you want do Drill- through from BEx query first you need to publish the query to portal. see below I mention the procedure for publishing a query in the portal.
BEx Query Designer: In the menu bar, choose Query → Publish → To the Portal. See Functions in the Menu Query.
BEx Web Application Designer: In the menu bar, choose Web Template → Publish → To the Portal. See Functions in the Menu Query.
BEx Report Designer: In the menu bar, choose Report → Publish → To the Portal. See Functions in the Menu Query.
After posting to portal copy that link paste in the URL address in the drill through.
In the parameter mapping add infoobjects technical names under parameters and Dimensions names under Dimension or user defined values and maintain the which property you want map mention under the property values.
And the save the query and go to the excel and you have an option in the excel ribbon Drill Through and click on that, you will get the query which you are posted in the portal.

How to create a custom Hierarchy in IDT 4.0
Hi All.
I am trying to create a custom hierarchy objects in the Information Design tool, But I am not able to find it here as same sort like the universe designer in 3.1 or 4.0 . I have found the navigational path but I am not sure how I can use it as a hierarchical objects in my reports, Can anyone please suggest how to create a custom hierarchical dimension in IDT 4.0.

Hierarchical objects are no different than any regular objects but they enable the drilling in drill mode in the report and you can create a cascading prompt on top of them..

To fix this issue, you need to change the Identity of your website's Application Pool to use the
NetworkService account (or the less secure LocalSystem account). By default, IIS7 seems to set the Application Pools Identity to 'ApplicationPoolIdentity' instead of NetworkService or LocalSystem.
Here's a step-by-step guide for determining your websites Application Pool, then changing its Process Model Idenitty in IIS7:
1.Open Internet Information Services (IIS) Manger.
2.In the Connections sidebar, drill down into Default Web Site and click on your website.
3.Now in the Actions sidebar (on right side), click on Advance Settings... In the popup box, under General you will see your Application Pool listed for your website (in my case the app pool is: ASP.NET V4.0).
4.Click Cancel... If you choose, you can change the Application Pool here, but for the sake of this example we just wanted to find out what the website's App Pool was.
Then change the app pool's (Process Model) Identity to 'NetworkService', the steps are showed as below:
1.Open Internet Information Services (IIS) Manger.
2.In the Connections sidebar, click on Application Pools.
3.Now right-click on theApplication Pool that your website is using (in this case my site is using the ASP.NET v4.0 application pool), and select Advanced Settings... from the menu.
4.In the Advanced Settings pop-up box, locate the Process Model -> Identity section and click on the Application Pool Identity.
5.In the Application Pool Identity pop-up box, change the Built-in account to NetworkService (or if you want LocalSystem), then click OK, and click OK again to save your Advanced Settings changes.

Create a Group on 'Purchase order'.
Group Expert -> Select the Purchase Order and Click the arrow button such that it appears right side. Click ok.
GH1 is inserted.
Your detail section should include 'Line items' fields.
Right Click 'Detail' section on left hand side, Click 'Hide (Drill down Ok)'.
Now you will see only 'Purchase order's in Group Headers.
Now when you click on a particular order, you will see respective line items.

How to create a Layout variable in Macro
Hi Friends,
I have to run a macro in the planning book which will execute and perform disaggregation / aggregation at whatever level the users enter the data. For Example, if a user enters a data at Product level it has to disaggregate to the SKU level and execute the macro to calculate forecast figures. Always calculating at detailed level gives accurate results. Here am using Drill down and Drill up functionality .
My question is, should I use any IF condition to perform a check say IF at AGG_LEVEL ('SKU') =1 then perform Drilldown. And for DrillUp should I set a LAYOUT_VARIABLE
use this to determine if it needs to be drilled up.
Am not familiar using this condition check and Layout variable creation. Can anyone pls let me know how do create these steps probably with an example.

I suggest you to go through the following SAP standard macro book. It contains a collective macro..DRILL(Start), which in turn contains macros for setting indicators, for doing Drill-down and drill-up and deleting the idicators..In this way u can set your drill-up and drill -down macros for the charectaristics you want and do the automatic drill-up and drill-down.

I need DRILL DOWN functionality in forms. Im trying to Study / Create Hierarchi Tree Concept in Forms 6i, but couldn't able to manage /Understand how to create this. Please any one could help me. and im giving my scenario also here, whether it can support or not.
Our routes having lot of terminals, like Our Bus travels from KENYA to SOUTH AFRICA passing TANZANIA,ZAMBIA,MALAWI,BOTSWANA countries. so i need the No of records to be dynamic i cant fix 10 records and scroll etc, Rather im trying to use Heirarchi Trees to achive this.
My Table is like this.

I need data to be displayed / functoned like this. If One select Route_no 1 in a List_item. Down to that i should show which terminals having quotas in this route. those are.

Next ... If One selects this node like if one Expands GNT node the sub nodes should be like this having three coulmns (i.e quota_station_from,quota_station_to,no_of_seats columns)

Next again.. if One select the first subnode it should give ...the seat Nos

I would use nested PLSQL cursors to populate a record group and create the tree from there. This way you can also concatinate multiple values to show as a single name in a tree.

Can anyone tell me how this is done or where I might find out some more information?
Thanks in advance!!Maybe I gave the wrong description of how this works, an example is if in an enterprise system you have a label with the text 'Supplier' beside a combo-box with supplier names and you wish to edit to supplier list you would normally have to go through drop down menus to bring up a 'Edit Supplier' screen.
It would be much easier if you could just click on the label 'Supplier' and the 'Edit Supplier' screen opens.
