Creating Drill-Down Links

Hello,
I want to be able to create 'drill-down' links in my SWING applications, I have seen these in many apps written in Visual Basic where you can click in a label and it acts like a button.
Can anyone tell me how this is done or where I might find out some more information?
Thanks in advance!!

Maybe I gave the wrong description of how this works, an example is if in an enterprise system you have a label with the text 'Supplier' beside a combo-box with supplier names and you wish to edit to supplier list you would normally have to go through drop down menus to bring up a 'Edit Supplier' screen.
It would be much easier if you could just click on the label 'Supplier' and the 'Edit Supplier' screen opens.
Hope this helps, you suggestion solved the problem!!

  • Reports with drill down links

I have a report consisting of 8 columns, with 4 of them having a drill down link leading to 4 other pages. 1 column is not null, the other 3 can be null.
How do I hide the links when the column value is null?
At present I have defined the URL for each column under 'Column Link' in the column attributes.

It would be nice if there was a way to specify conditions on the report attributes column editing pages not only for the entire column, but also for values within the column.
E.G., if column value is negative, print the amount in red with parentheses.
Maybe there's a way I don't know about. The only way so far I've found is to push the logic out into the query, which, as you point out, ends up mixing HTML output with SQL.

  • Creating Drill-Down on single primary key

    I have 3 Tables
    1.Details Table(Contains State,Region,Branch,Member Name,Member ID)
2.Fact Table (This is also contains all above columns)
    3.Fact Table(Contains Only Member ID)
I can easily create drill-down for above 2 tables by complex joining of all columns
But the problem is with 3rd table, while i want to create drill-down i have only one PK in that table..
Kindly give an solution for this

Have you used Dimension? By defining Dimensions, you can create multi level drill down on the same data object, in the same report.
    1. Define the Dimension in the data object
    2. In the Studio, choose Drilling tab under the report
    3. Drill Hierarchies will be available. Choose the Dimension
The drilling level will depend on the depth of the Dimension you have specified!

    Hi
    One simple concept is,
Make dept only report call it as dept.rdf
Now create another report call it as emp_details.rdf,
Now in Dept.rdf. Make push button and call the emp_details repot by passing dept no varailble.

  • Problem creating Drill-Down report

    Hi,
I have problem in creating a drill-down report, got confused how to do it. this is my requirement.
The main portion that will be first displayed contains a group on match_code and has its own detail section. now when the user selects one of these match_code it should drill down to give more information about this match_code, so the Drill down should also have its own detail section that will be hide and drilldown ok.
If this the proper way to do it. I will be creating a drill down report for the first time.
    Thanks,
    Reena

    Hello Reena,
If I understand your situation correctly you have a group on match_code and a details and b section. You want the Group Header and Details a sections to appear on the first "page" or drilldowngrouplevel 0. When the user drills down you want the Details b section to appear.
You can do that using the drilldowngrouplevel function.
Set the details b section to suppress when drilldowngrouplevel = 0, this section will only appear after drilldown.
I am not sure if you still want the details a or group sections to appear after drilldown, if you do then there is no need for conditional suppression. If you don't then use a conditional suppression formula for those sections of drilldowngrouplevel <> 0

    Hi,
    I'm using reports6i.
I want to create a drill down report, the main report is AgentDetails.rdf , in that i've placed a button to call AgentContacts.rdf.
But i want to pass parameters from AgentDetails to AgentContacts. So what code i need to write for the buttons action?

  • Linked Charts (Drill-Down)

What is the process for creating drill down charts in APEX? For instance, chart one will show the names of all servers and the count of mount points. Clicking on a server name would take you to a chart that listed mount points and disk space.
    SELECT server, count(mounts)
    FROM table
    SELECT mount, sum(diskspace)
    FROM table
WHERE server = 'selection from chart 1'
I've seen the format SELECT null AS link, col2 AS label, col3 AS value but am not sure what needs to go in the label portion. Any help would be appreciated!

    Blake,
The link is used for the drill down and the label as the word to display. For example, the average salary by department would show the department name via the label. Here's an example query that I've not really tested...
    SELECT 'f?p=' || :APP_ID || ':10:' || :APP_SESSION || '::::ITEM_NAME:' || dept.deptno AS link,
       dname AS label,
       AVG(sal) AS value
    FROM dept
    JOIN emp
       ON dept.deptno = emp.deptno
    GROUP BY dnameRegards,
    Dan

  • Drill down Reports created In SPRO to execute in SAP Easy Access

    Hi
In customizing which is transaction spro, at the following location Financial Accounting->General Ledger Accounting->Information System->Drilldown Reports you can create drill down reports.
What I would like to know is where can the user execute them from in SAP Easy Access?? There is transaction FSIB (Background Processing) which allows you to execute it in SAP Easy Acces but it wants to print the report and not display it on the screen. Is there a way to display on the screen in SAP Easy Access??
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
To run a report either in foreground or background you need to know the report name. To run the report in foreground goto SE38 and give the report name and execute it. If you see the status message " This report is not a type P" then goto SE93 and findout the transaction with the help of report name description. so you can run the transaction. To add the transaction to your role technical consultant will take care.
    Bye,
    Jyothi.

  • How do I get the drill-down arrow to display in Messages/Alerts?

    Hello Experts,
We have created the following query and added it to alerts management to notify certain users when a production order is closed.
    SELECT T0.[DocNum], T0.[ItemCode], T0.[Status] FROM OWOR T0 WHERE T0.[status] = 'L' and T0.[U_RD] is null AND datediff(mi,U_Status_Update,getdate()) <= 5 FOR BROWSE
I would like to have a drill-down arrow in the alert message that gets sent out to users.
I have searched the forums and discovered that adding FOR BROWSE to the end of the query creates the orange drill-down arrow when the query is executed which is great but the drill-down arrow still does not show in the internal mail message sent out to users.
Can drill-down links be included in alerts/messages and if so, what have I done wrong?
    Thank you kindly,
    Richard
SAP Business One Version 8.8 PL:15

    Hi Richard,
Based on my experience, I don't think drill-down links can be included in alerts/messages.
    Thanks,

  • Error: "Numeric value entered was too low " -drill down discoverer report

    Hi ,
We have created a Discoverer drill down report (drill down to another worksheet). We have two worksheets one for the master and and the other for the detail. The parameters are passed to detail sheet (The link information is set using the Manage links option in the Discoverer plus) from the master. This whole thing works fine in dev instance.
We imported the business area . Deleted the existing file and the opened the new .dis file from local computer and then saved it to db.
Now the master report runs fine and when we click on the drill down link for the detail we get the following error
An error occured while handling the event.See the application log for more details.
    - The numerical value entered was too low."
However the link works fine in plus and desktop in the same instance.
    Kindly help.
    Thanks,
    Shobana

I hope you're not using Internet Explorer v7.
It has a specific problem with Disco Viewer, is not certified to work with it, and the error is drilling in Viewer.
The Oracle bug (metalink) is: 5608740
This bug prevents the listing of drill items under the drill icon.
