How to create DTD from XML using DOM
Hi,
Is there a way to create a corrosponding DTD of a xml-file using DOM. I have a XML-file that's pretty huge I want to create a DTD for that XML-file using DOM. Can anyone plz. lead me how to do this. I tried to use XMLSpy to convert the XML into DTD but the resulting DTD is not correct. Is there a way to create the DTD using DOM.

When you say you are trying to convert XML to DTD, do you mean you are trying to convert a XSD (schema) to a DTD, or that you are trying to create a schema that corresponds to a given XML document.
Realize that DTDs are not very powerful. XSD documents allow for much more detail. I don't have a proof, but I'm absolutely confident that any DTD can be expressed as a schema but not all schemas can be represented as a DTD. In other words, DTDs are not worth the trouble, in my opinion.

MuthuA COTS product builds the XML and inserts the respective xsl (xml:stylesheet) file name to be used for transforming the xml. I am trying to interrupt this xml and make some updations on an element and finally send the updated xml to the stream.
For the above process, I parse the input XML using DOMParser and update the elements (some internal elements). While I view the final XML that would be passed to the stream, I found the <?xml-stylesheet... PI is missing.
I somehow managed using a temp fix by doing the below. I manually pulled the PI using document.getFirstChild().getNodeValue() and reconstructed the PI and inserted it to the outgoing XML. This needs to be done every time. This might run into problems when more than one PI is used in the XML.
If the parsed XML could get the PI along with it the above problem could be resolved.
Is there any property that could be set on the parser (prior to parsing) to resolve the issue?. -

How to derive DTD from XML CLOB?
I have a CLOB containing an XML document which I would like to derive the DTD for, what API can I use to do this? sample code would be appreciated.
FYI, the CLOB is populated from HTTP request against a remote system, therefore I don't have the SQL to execute locally - that would be too easy!

FindusNo...this is not the solution for my problem. The first problem with the code you posted is that I can create a valid XML document like this:

</data>
(Please compare to the lines below in order to recognize the difference)
I want the user to create only documents like this:
<data name="data2">
<value id="123" name="valueA" />
<value id="456" name="valueB" />
<value id="789" name="valueC" />
</data>
So I want to define special attribute pairs in my DTD, like ' the value attribute id="123" works only with the attribute name="valueA"! '
Is it possible to do so ?

The details like the name of table.... or the number of columns in it are all supposed to be determined from user input (only the first time).
On subsequent run the program should remember the previously created database and hence work with it.
Can somebody help me through this?

Until you figure out the syntax of that you can't do anything in java. -
OSMF: How to create resource from XML string
Hello,
I have a URL that sometimes returns a valid playmanifest.f4m and sometimes returns a string represantation of my media URL.
On my loadComplete handler I would like to create the appropriate resource according to the returned data.
If the data is a URL, I just create a StreamingURLResource and create the media element.
Is there a way for me to create some resource that contains the XML? I noticed OSMF has StreamingXMLResource but its excluded, and it doesn't look like it can answer my use case.
Do you have any suggestions?

The baseURL is needed since you might want to use relative urls like in a normal f4m. The parsing had to be kept simple, so we preferred to make the baseURL mandatory and to reuse the f4m parsing code.
You should be able to provide (in the xml string) paths for the streams, bootstraps, etc relative to that base url.
You will not be able to use multi-layer manifest through this technique, though. -

How to remove Unicode from XML file
I get following error when unmarshal xml:
[java] org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: An invalid XML character (Unicode: 0x15) was found in the element content of the document.
Anyone know how to remove Unicode from xml file? Can I remove the unicode by rebuild the file?
ThanksThese sort of error usually occur when you're using a different character encoding to read the file than the one you wrote it with. Perhaps if you were to post the problem section of the file and/or the code that created it in the first place.

latfirst you have to decide how the flat file will map to xml. Will you use attributes or pcdata for your fields, or both? Will there be a hierarchy, or will it be mostly flat?
Once decided, you'd probably just use a BufferedReader to read the lines one at a time, and generate Dom nodes as appropriate, and stick them in the tree. -

Hi, When calling Secured web service from BPEL 11g, performance issue is coming. Actually when we test a Secured web service using SOAP UI, Average response time is 2-3 secs. Where when we are calling from BPEL, average response time is 18-22 secs. S
