How to create local collections?

If we can't get on the network, and want to install locally downloaded patches, how do he build a local "collection"?
I've got a patch in /opt/patches, (in jar format), but how to I build a local collection out of it?
TIA

If you have a patch already downloaded then just install it from the command line with smpatch or patchadd. You cannot currently create your own collections. For clients that don't have internet acess you may want to look at installing a Sun Update Connection Proxy which can then cache a collection of downloaded patches. Your clients could then be config'd to get their updates for the local Sun Update Connection Proxy inside of your firewall.

  • How to create local virtual web host ex. myserver.local?

    Hi
    I'm sorry but following steps in Yosemite Server help led me to nowhere.
    Could you please explain how to create local virtual web host ex. myserver.local?
    Thanks

    Hi Sergey,
    I assume that you mean virtual desktop storage location, which I don’t think that we can change this setting for an existing collection.
    You can create a new collection, during the creation process, you will be able to select a different storage location for new VMs.

    Hi,
    >>1. HOW TO CREATE A USER IN WINDOWS SERVER 2008 R2  WITHOUT ACTIVE DIRECTORY
    >>2.  AFTER CREATE USER IN WINDOWS SERVER 2008 R2 BUT USER PROFILE NOT CREATE
    Creating an user account on the computer doesn't create a profile for that user. The profile is created the first time the user interactively logs on at the computer. After the user logs onto the computer for the first time, the user's local profile
    will be created in a folder with the name of the user under the systemroot/Users folder.

  • How to create locale independent masked JFormattedTextField for date?

    I need to create formatted text field with mask for entering date. Mask must be deduced from current locale setting.
    For example US locale has this: "06/28/2005", but czech has "28.6.2005".
    Attention: czech hasn't zero before 6, so day or month length may vary from 1 to 2 characters, not only 2 characters as US, and month and day positions are swapped.
    How to create date parsing from JFormattedTextField locale independent, including mask generating?
    Thank you,
    Tony

    E.g.
    JFormattedTextField tf = new JFormattedTextField();
    tf.setValue(new Date());/Kaj

  • How to create a collection using the Reader for PC or Reader for Mac software.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    A collection is a custom set of books and other items that you create from items on the Reader or the library of the Reader™ for PC or Mac® software. It is a unique and convenient way to organize your items. You can organize and personalize your content by creating collections by subject matter, date, genre or anything that best suits your purpose.
    Create a collection:
    Click the My Library tab.
    On the category bar, click Collections.
    Click the Create New Collectionbutton.
    Enter a collection name and then press Enter on your keyboard. A new collection will be added to the Collections list.
    Add books to the collection:
    Once you have created the collection, click the My Librarytab.
    On the category bar, click to select the book you want to add to the collection. Multiple books can be selected by holding down the Ctrlkey while clicking on the books.
    With the book(s) selected, at the bottom of the screen, click the Add to Collectionbutton.
    From the menu that pops up, click to select the collection you want to add the book(s) to.
    NOTE: The next time you sync your Reader Digital Book, the collection and its contents will be added to your Reader device.

    Have you verified that 'n' Index partition segments have got created so far ? (they would apepar as TEMPORARY segments only till the full index creation is completed). Have you monitored the session statistics and waits and confirmed that it is not waiting on something horrible ?
    A CREATE INDEX can well be NOLOGGING instead of LOGGING. It could also use PARALLEL but I always recommend setting it back to NOPARALLEL immediately after the CREATE is completed.
    You can also "quickly" build an empty index and then gradually create (i.e. build) each partition

  • How to create local calendar?

    At times of Snow Leopard I had a local calendar and several calendars from my Exchange account.
    At that time I created Automator-based processes and entered them to my local calendar to be executed at specific intervals.
    After first syncing with MobileMe and then migrating to iCloud, my local calendar dissappeared and the "process" schedules have been moved to MobileMe and then iCloud.
    However, those process schedules can only be executed on my iMac and I DONT WANT them to be synced to my other devices (MacBook, iPhone).
    So I need my local calendar back.
    How can I create a local calendar on my iMac?
    Thanks for all hints...
    Matt

    Roger, you made my day!
    I did miss the command "New Calendar" in the "File" menu (or however those menus are called in english. have a german OS).
    Instead, I always tried to create a new local calendar via the  "Account" settings - which was absolutely stupid!
    However, when exporting those Automator based entries and trying to re-import them into my local calendar, the "possibly dangerous" Automator actions have been removed.
    But I could open those (recurring) entry in edit mode and just "switch" it to my local calendar without losing any information.
    Thank you so much for your hint, which lead me to the right way!

  • How to create local store adapters in bulk without using ODSM in OVD

    Hello,
    Our requirement is to create 62 local store adapters in OVD
    Hence, it can not be done using manual effort
    I have tried to do this using below approach:
    Create an ldif containing 62 groups
    Update adapters.os_xml to have the 62 nodes of "standard" per adapter
    restart OVD
    import ldif file in data browser in ODSM
    However, this approach is not working
    I am not able to search these groups in my configured OAM and getting "No profile configured for such kind of group" error in identity console of OAM (10g)
    Please help

  • Create a collection from Shuttle or Multiple Select List items

    Hi all, this may be a dumb question, but I cannot find how to create a collection using the values stored shuttle item? I just want to assign the values of the shuttle which are usually delimited by a colon (ex. 11:22:33:44:55) into a collection that stores each of these values separately so later I can select * from table where id IN(select * from collectionname) --- is this possible?
    I am running into a problem where users want to select more than 1000 items in a shuttle to do a search.... and the IN operator cannot handle more than 1000 instances. I was told to try to use a temporary table to house the values of the shuttle, but temporary tables pose a problem with APEX. I read on the forums to try using a collection instead. Any thoughts?
    Thanks.

    Would this be a good start?? I found this here... Re: Search on a typed in list of values
    Not sure how the View would work though??
    A much easier way of doing all this is to create a collection, create a view off that collection and then do your select from the view. No custom functions or types involved. An example is:
    DECLARE
    l_vc_arr2 HTMLDB_APPLICATION_GLOBAL.VC_ARR2;
    BEGIN
    l_vc_arr2 := HTMLDB_UTIL.STRING_TO_TABLE(:P13_MULTISELECT);
    htmldb_collection.create_or_truncate_collection( p_collection_name => 'MULTISELECTCOL');
    FOR i IN 1..l_vc_arr2.count LOOP
    htmldb_collection.add_member(
    p_collection_name => 'MULTISELECTCOL',
    p_c001 => l_vc_arr2(i));
    END LOOP;
    END;
    where your view looks something like:
    CREATE OR REPLACE FORCE VIEW "WS"."TEMP_MULTISELECT_VIEW" ("MULTISELECTID") AS
    (SELECT c001 FROM htmldb_collections WHERE collection_name = 'MULTISELECTCOL');
    and finally for your report you use something like:
    SELECT t.a
    FROM tablea t
    WHERE t.b IN
    (SELECT roleid FROM temp_multiselect_view)
    This way is simple and works... so by KISS standards its good.
    Hope this helps some other unfortunate....

    Not sure why your code is doing that. I usually use an ObjectProperty<Point2D> to hold the initial coordinates of the mouse press, and set it to null on a mouse release. That seems to avoid the dragging being confused by mouse interaction with other nodes.

  • How do I create Local Network Home Folders for Users from an Active Directory binding?

    My situation is this... I run an iMac lab at my school.  I have a server set up to manage the network user accounts in the lab.  Currently, I can sucessfully create Local Network Users and log in to them from any of the iMacs.  My school has an Active Directory set up for all the students on campus.  What I'd like to be able to do is configure the server to allow the students to use their user names and passwords from their school accounts to log in to the iMacs and have it automatically build a network user folder on the server for them to use during the lab.
    So far, I have been able to configure access for the Active Directory accounts to use the services on the server, mainly File Sharing, but I cannot figure out how to allow them to log into a user account on the client's machines using their same Active Directory credentials.  I have even attempted to allow the user accounts to create mobile accounts, but that's not working out either.  Entering indivual network user accounts into the server for every student every semester will be a nightmare.  I'm sure there's a way to do it automatically using the exisitng Active Directory structure.
    The live server is running 10.8.5 Server still, but I've also got a clone running OS X Server in case it matters.  Please help!

    ok reinstalled everything dns seems to be working have done sudo changeip -checkhostname and it says that both names match but then i started open directory and can't seem to get Kerberos started, i've tried changing it to stand alone then back again but it does nothing. I'm wondering why this would happen? i've tried adding a kerberos record but it doesn't do it just does nothing so i don't know what i'm doing wrong. I wondered if it might be a problem with the two network cards and dns as on ethernet one it is getting the dns name xserve.xxxx.ac.uk (which matches what the college server wants to call us) but on ethernet 2 gets xserve-2.local because it tells me that it already exists on ethernet one and renames it to this. I need to set up NAT so have ethernet coming in on port one and out again on port two. I wonder if my dns is backwards as its got the 192. address the NAT uses but its linked to the ethernet port one dns maybe this is the problem. would this cause open directory not to start kerberos?

  • How to configure local disk on OVM Server as storage space to create VMs

    Hello,
    We have installed OVM Server 3.1.1 on a machine that has 250 GB of Hard disk space [Single disk].
    While installing used an option - Remove all partitions and create a new default partition layout.
    Around 4GB has been used and remaining 246 GB is left as free space.
    From OVM Manager - the server is discovered but didn't discovered the physical disk [i.e. remaining 246 GB raw disk space].
    Can someone help me to understand how to use local disk as storage space for creating and running VM's.
    Thanks
    Srinivas

    You can? You've used every conceivable BIOS out there? You must really be full of yourself. There is absolutely no BIOS that I know of that gives this basic function. BIOSs do not "hard partition" anything. A "BIOS" is not made for such things. Do you even know what "BIOS" stands for?
    I wonder why there is some many wanting to do this and are having problems.... I mean if it is such a straight forward thing to do..... It must be down right "intuitive".
    You maybe speaking of a RAID "BIOS" but you obviously think you're not. Some motherboards have integrated RAID abilities. Intel RST comes to mind... BUT this isn't a feature of a MOTHERBOARD BIOS.
    I've got some $50,000 servers that will not break a single hard drive up into multiple logical drives..... Now, I haven't worked on a "Stinkpad" for many years. Don't want to. However, I have never seen one that would do what you're saying you're doing.
    You maybe trying to help.... but you're leading people down a wrong path.
    Its just as easy to run virtual box and use the virtual box templates for Oracle VM. In fact, its more practical if you want to run Oracle VM on a laptop for testing purposes than blowing everything away and attempting to setup different LUNS on a single hard drive.
    For your review...

    Although it's more reliable to use a separate location (such as an NFS share) for a storage repository, you can use a local disk of your Oracle VM Server instead, thus taking advantage of the local storage option. Beware, though: Oracle VM Server 3.0 doesn't allow you to utilize the unused space on the physical disk it's installed on. For local storage, you'll need at least one more physical disk. In other words, you'll need a total of two disks at minimum on your Oracle VM Server host if you want to use local storage. In practice, though, local storage is not a primary use case. The major downside to this approach is that local storage, by definition, cannot be shared between different servers.
