Are you using the notification mailer within Oracle Applications (ebs)? If so, I would post to the Oracle Applications forum, someone there might be able to give you a better idea.

How do I create, and send a group email from my iPhone 4?

How to send group email without additional APP
Just spent an hour on ichat.  Long and short....can't send group email.  The group name appears in the TO: line, but if you click on the group name, only the first email address is blue..the rest are black and will not get the email.  We tired using the CC and BC lines...same result.
    However here is one solution:
I sent one email with each of the group (we are only 9 ) in the TO: line.  I included my primary email.  When it came to the iphone, i moved it to one of the subfolders.  (Each account you may have has a list of the inbox at the top and Account at the bottom.  ... that is where you can access the subfolder)
I moved the email with all names to that subfolder.  I can then, open it ...do a relpy to all and just change the message and subject line.   It is cumbersome, but it does work.  I really think Apple, a company committed to ease of use, needs to review this flaw.  I suspect it may be a bandwidth economy ....  and i feel the pain of the providers...but you did create the beast.

  • How to create a linked server to SQL in Oracle?

I am able to create a linked server to Oracle in SQL.. But I do not know the steps to create a linked server too SQL in Oracle.
How to create a linked server to SQL in Oracle? After creating the linked server to SQL, I would like to create triggers in Oracle DB to insert records into SQL DB.

There are 2 products in Oracle you can use to link to a MS SQl Server. The first one is for free and it is called Database Gateway for ODBC. With a suitable 3rd party ODBC driver you can connect to any foreign database. The second gateway is our commercial gateway and it is called Oracle Database Gateway for MS SQL Server. It is designed for MS SQl Server connections and more powerful then Dg4ODBC. It know how to map a lot of Oracle functions to SQL Server equivalents and you can also use it to directly call SQL Server procedures or functions. This dedicated SQL server gateway is also able to participate in distributed transactions.
But again, this is a commercial gateway and you have to purchase a license for that second gateway, the Database Gateway for MS SQl Server.

  • How to create pdf files in UNIX directory from oracle reports

I would like to know how to create pdf files in UNIX directory from oracle reports.
    Thanks,

Please make your question more clear . Also mention the reports version.
    1) If you are runnning reports in Unix, you can give
    .... destype=file desformat=pdf desname=<filename>
    in command line
    Please refer docs below.
    2) If by your question you mean
"My reports server is running in Windows but I want to ftp my files to Unix after creating it"
then the answer is that you can use pluggable destination "ftp"
    .... destype=ftp desformat=pdf desname=<ftp url>

  • How to send notification and email to all approvers

    Hi
I am customizing the requisition approval workflow in p2p cycle.
We have to send out notifications and emails to all people in the approval heirarchy , who have already approved the req if some body higher up in the chain rejects it.
right now oracle only send email and notification to the requester.
ex -- If A requested it and next approver is B , who approves it , next is C, who approves it
but next person D rejects it
    I want to send notification to C , B and A
    not just A
please let me know how to do this.

  • How to create procedure to mail ORA-error

    hi all,
anyone please tell me how to create a procedure to mail the ORA-error when ORA- error comes in alert.log

Ok, I can't really do this for you. It's not hard, just a lot of back-and-forth testing needs to be done. To do it solely in PL/SQL you need to monitor the alter_<sid>.log file for changes and filter the changed records for ORA- errors.. So, first step is to create, or get the dba to create a directory for that bdump directory. This will allow you to open the file for reading in PL/SQL
This is on an XE 10g database as SYSTEM user, with poly being the database user that is monitoring the file.
    select value from v$parameter where name like 'background_dump_dest';
    /usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/admin/XE/bdump
    SQL> CREATE DIRECTORY BDUMP_DIR AS '/usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/admin/XE/bdump';
    create directory succeeded.
    SQL> grant read on directory alert_dir to poly;
grant read succeeded. After this, you need to read the file and search for ORA- messages. You use the UTL_FILE package to do this. The following subprograms in UTL_FILE will be useful to you.
Function: UTL_FILE.FOPEN You use this to open the file in readonly mode. Please look at the UTL_FILE documentation examples.
Procedure: UTL_FILE.GET_LINE You use this to read lines into PL/SQL
Procedure: UTL_FILE.GETATTR You use this to get the filelength. If the filelength is different from your previous call, you know some writes occurred.
Procedure UTL_FILE.FSEEK You use this to position the reading stream to the first byte of new data read. You've detected the file has grown in size and do something like utl_file.fseek(file_desc,last_file_length+1)
Procedure UTL_FILE.FCLOSE Close file when done.
    Pseudologic:
This logic assumes you have a table which stores the filelength from the last time you executed the procedure. This allows you to only process records that have not already been processed.
    1. Read last file length from persistent storage such as a table. Default to zero if no value.
    2. Get filelength using UTL_FILE.GETATTR
    3. Compare filelength. If equal to prior value, exit. If greater, than more lines added. If less, then dba must have rolled the log, reset prior filelength to zero to process entire new file.
    4. Use UTL_FILE.FSEEK to position reader to one byte past last file length. This is why we default it to zero, 0+1=1.
    5. Open file using UTL_FILE.FOPEN
    6. Loop while data is avaliable, read each line, use instr or whatever to detect ORA- messages, call SMTP mailer as needed. You may want to log each email into a log table.
    7. After loop, set persisted last file length (update a table and commit maybe) to value returned from UTL_FILE.FGETPOS.
    8. Sleep for some interval of time. Start back at step 1.
You should consider using DBMS_SCHEDULER to set up this job.
There are lots of other ways of doing this. Remember that it's possible for your database to crash and your procedure might not be able to send an email. If someone edits the alter file and adds lines anywhere other than at the end, your program may resend some messages.
Edited by: david.sweet on Feb 19, 2011 10:16 AM: changed the word function to procedure for most of them

  • How to create a folder in which email forms are stored which cab be used and usen again

Hi folks of the free software comunity,
in the olden days I used to use a mail program made by MARINET in England. This received an sent emails via a sattelite connection an nothing else.
The program had a feature called pre-formed mails:
In a special folder lots of pre-written emals where stored - messages that needed to be sent again an again wit slightly changed contens. The address, reference and text fields where already filled.
If needed you would open one of these pre-written mail, change a few items - say the date, number of item or some such
Adress an reference would remain the same.
The SENT the bugger an finished.
In the SENT folder this mail would be shown with the corrected text.
In the special folder the not corrected mail would remain.
The special folder served as a file of mails already written as well as a remainder of what needed to be sent - by looking at the stored mails - an so save the user a lot of work.
    My question:
How can this be created in THUNDERBIRD ?
    tks n bregards
    i.b.b
[email protected] (pls copy an answer to this mail address

    Open a new Write message.
Create the email you want to use as a Template, give the 'Subject' a suitable title so you can easily locate that template email, but do not enter any email addresses.
Then click on 'Save' as 'Template' OR File > Save As > Template.
A Templates folder will be auto created and th email will be stored in that Templates folder.
    To use:
Select Templates folder to see emails.
Double click on email OR right click on email and select 'Edit as new Messge' to open in a new Write window.
Edit as required and send as usual.
The email in the Templates folder will remain as is and can be reused again and again.
    Additional info:
If you wish to send one personalised email to a group, so each person gets their own personalised email, you could consider an addon called 'Mail Merge' which works with Template email and either a .csv file or an address book.

  • Send notifications by email and showup in Worklist as well

I am working on an Approval process where I need to send the Approval notification to an emailID and because the approver is a user of Oracle Apps, show the notification in his Worklist. This gives them flexibility to respond by email OR thru Worklist.
If I assign the Performer of a notification to emailID of the FND USER, its only sending it as email, it doesnt show up in the Worklist. If I re-assign the Performer to the username of the FND USER, its showing up in Worklist and not as an email ( even though I have defined emailID for that FNF USER).
    Thx in advance,
    Suresh

    Hi,
Check that the users preferences (Preferences responsibility, General tab) are set to something that includes email, e.g. HTML Mail with Attachments.
Make sure you setup your FND USER as Employee and email address Employee and FND User, then run Synchronize WF Local Tables.
You should see notification both email and notification.
