How to create selection variables on the KF

Hi,
i need to create a variable on the CKF and the user is going to give the selections like >90% or <100% in the variable screen before runing the report.on the report should show the values based on the selection.
1.how to create the variables on the CKF.
2. how to restrict the values and give the selections(like >90%,<100%) values in the selections.

Hi Venkat,
You can achieve this by the following way:
1. Create a CKF or a local formula(based on which queries it needs to be used)
2. Then go to BEX Query Designer -> View -> Conditions
3. Create New Condition -> select 'New' -> Select your CKF/Local Formula -> Define your Operator ( BT, GT, LT, Top % etc.) -> Create a Formula variable (Ready for input with Processing type as ;manual Input')
4. DO the char. assignement for the condition with your condition definition
4. Execute the report with your values.
This will solve your prob.

How to create selection variable on a Key Figure

Dear Experts,
I have a key figure 'No of Days' in the BEx Query. I need a selection variable which when the users provide the input, should give me the report output where the rows shows only those whose No of days are less or equal to the input value.
I am able to create such a selection out of a Characteristics field but I am unable to create one from a key figure.
Kindly note that we are not using the BW Portal. We are running this report in the webi from a Universe created from the BE Query.I know that it is possible to ceate such a scenario in Webi, but we want the selection coming from the BEx Query for better report performance.

Thanks for the suggestions. I cannot use the 'Condition' since this BEx query is being called from a Webi report. MDX will not recogonize the condition.
I was able to create a Variable and use it in the calculated key figurare. The problem is , I am getting 1 where the condition is met and 0 when the condition is not met. But I want to see only the results where the condition is met. How to to avoid the rows where the result is not met.
Am I getting this because there are actually 3 other key figures along in the query in addition to the key figuare ' No of days'.
Should I add some condition to the other key figuares also.

Right click on the characteristic 0CALMONTH in the default values or drag it to char. restriction section and say restrict.Pull the drop down menu in that to select variables. There u will get a create icon.Click on that...then in details tab u can specify whether mandatory,interval and all..

         You need to follow the below steps
For hierarchy
1)     To create a hierarchy variable, you need to select the characteristic with the hierarchy. Go to the hierarchy tab in the object properties. Select hierarchy -> Hierarchy variable.
2)     Go to select hierarchy variable and new variable.
3)     Give technical name and description, and other details as per requirement.
4)     Save the variable and select the variable.
For Hierarchy node variable
1)     To create a hierarchy node variable, Select a characteristic which has a hierarchy. Select Restrict from the context menu. Select Variable in the Select value list box. Select create new variable.
2)     Give technical name and description and other details as per requirement. Select type of variable as HIERARCHY NODE
3)     Save and select the variable.

SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF SCREEN 2100 AS SUBSCREEN.
SELECT-OPTIONS: matnr FOR mara-matnr.
SELECTION-SCREEN END OF SCREEN 2100.
<li>. Create one screen 2000 .
<li>. Go to Layout of the screen and Define subscreen area on the screen and Name it as g_subscreen.
<li>. Place the below code in the Flow logic of the screen.
PROCESS BEFORE OUTPUT.
CALL SUBSCREEN g_subscreen INCLUDING 'SAPMZ_TEST' '2100'.
PROCESS AFTER INPUT.

Could you please tell me how to create a Workset within the Role?
I tried to create it via right-click on the Folder of the uploaded Role and the only option is available is New Folder. I don't see any options for Workset.

Hey Niki,
Go to Content Admin->Portal Content.
Select your default work folder. Right click it and select new workset.
Create and save workset.
After that open your role and right click on workset and select the option add to role.
If you are not aware of the location of the role select tab search and type some keywords with *. select it and click locate in catalog.

I think we can create this type of report using either Narrative or Static Text. But I am not sure whether it is possible or not? And also another thing is that sectioning is applied for SUID Tag # column. So, depending on the dashboard prompt if the SUID Tag # retrieves two or more values.
Then the first value for example 123456     and the values for the other columns related to this SUID Tag # value should display in the first page (i.e., page 1). And if the next value of the SUID Tag # for example say 678901 then the values should move to second page that is like this:
     SUID Tag # :678901               Year Mfg: 2008
     Description: Computer Manufacturing FA ID#: 4577
     Model Number: 4570 hESC: #eth
     Serial Number: 78946 Flags: G

There are Two ways to achieve it...
1) How to create a select-options in a module pool screen.
Method 1
a) Create a subscreen area in your screen layout where you want to create the select options.
b) In the top include of your module pool program declare a selection screen as a subscreen e.g.
SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF SCREEN 100 AS SUBSCREEN.
select-options s_matnr for mara-matnr.
SELECTION-SCREEN END OF SCREEN.
c) In the PBO and PAI of the main screen where the select options needs to be created do a call subscreen of the above screen (100).
CALL SUBCREEN sub_area INCLUDING <program> <screen>
This call subscreen statement is necessary for transport of values between screen and program.
Note: All validations of the selection screen fields e.g. the s_matnr field created above should be done in selection screen events like AT SELECTION-SCREEN etc and not in PAI. These selection screen validations etc should be done in the top include only.
Method 2
a) Create 2 separate fields in your screen layout - one for the low value and one for the high value. Insert an icon beside the high value which will call the multiple selections popup screen on user command. Use function module COMPLEX_SELECTIONS_DIALOG to achieve this.

You can use the return table rng_kunnr to populate your own internal range table with the values entered by the user. Basically here you are just simulating the work of a select-options parameter by module pool screen elements.

How to create formula variable, such that it will appear in the variable screen.

Hi,
the variables you create in formula function are local to the function.
Ex., DATA CST_ELMNT TYPE 0COSTELMNT.
DATA QTY TYPE 0QUANTITY.
To get the variables listed in the variable screen you need o create variables at aggregation/filter level for the required characteristics.

How to create replacement variable

Hi,
Any one has idea how to create replacement variable in bps.
I need to pass one variable value to another.\
Because both the fields are fields to be change. But user does not want to do double entry.
So need to pass one value from another. Is there any way. I can fix this issue.
