How to create ViewObject to generate file xml?

Hello everybody...
Folks I would like to know if is possible to create a ViewObject to generate a file xml.
In other words, I have a table in database and I need to generate a file xml based on this table.
Anyone already did that?

In the my case, I'll need to generate a file xml based on a table, and posteriorly I'll have to retrieve this xml and to save in the database.
In other words I'll have to do import and export of files xml-db db-xml.
What is the better way?*

Hi,
Table Maintenance generator is required to do Manual entries in the Table. If the requirement is to update the table only programmatically and not manually then table maint. generator is not required.
Manual entries in table can be maintained ( New record can be inserted / existing can be modified ) using transaction SM 30, if the table maintenance for the table is generated.
How to activate Table maint.
Goto SE11 and open the table.
Click UTILITIES -> Table Maint. Generator, Enter the details and click on Save. Then activate the table.
chk a sample 1.

Well my acquisition code runs perfect. The problem is reading it. I can't seem to read my data no matter what I do. My data gets saved as a string using the array to string vi but I've read that the string to array vi (which I need to convert back to array to read my data) does not work on the pda. I'm using version 8.0. So I was trying to modify the program posted in this discussion so that it would save data from my DAQ. I did that but I still can't read the data after its saved. I really don't know what else to do. All I need to do is read the data on the pda itself. I can't understand why I'm having such a hard time doing that. I found a possible solution on another discussion that talks about parsing the strings because of the bug in the "string to array" vi. However, that lead me to another problem because for some reason, the array indicators or graphs don't function on the pda. When i build the program to the pda or emulator, the array indicators are faded out on the front panel as if the function is not valid. Does this kind of help give a better picture of what I'm trying to do. Simply read data back. Thanks.

Through table maintenance you can direct add new entries in your table. For that u need to follow some steps.
Step1 : Click Delivery and Maintenance tab in your table and select "Display/Maintenance Allowed"
Step2 : Utilities--->Table maint generator
Step3 : Give Authorization Group - &NC&
Step4 : Function group - Any ( You can give ur table name also ) This Function Group will genrate automatically.
Step5 : Maintenance type - Select first radio button "One Step"
Step6 : Maint. Screen No. - Overview screen as 1
                                              Single screen       as 0
Step7 : Click on Create button on application tool bar
Step8 : just save in your package.
Step8 : Create transaction code for the same . Environment----->transaction code
Step9 : Give any t.code name and click on create button. You will get a popup where you have to choose last radio button "Transaction with parameter"
Step10 : Give the transaction name - SM30 and check Inherit GUI Attribute"
Step11 : GUI Support - check all the check boxes.
Step12 : Name of screen field           Values
                VIEWNAME -                   Table name and
                UPDATE      -                      X
Finally u can this t.code and add new entries in ur table directly.

Single step: Only overview screen is created i.e. the Table Maintenance Program will have only one screen where you can add, delete or edit records.
Two step: Two screens namely the overview screen and Single screen are created. The user can see the key fields in the first screen and can further go on to edit further details.

How to create a split zip file?

Hi,
Does anybody know how to create a split zip file using only Java?
Lets say I have a file that compressed has a size of 10MB and I need to split it into small files of 1MB each... and then be able to open and uncompress it using winzip or any other compressing tool.
I know how to create a zip file using java.util.zip but I cannot split it...

My situation is: I've got an XHTML page with XForms and XML (input) file, which describes this page. Whenewer I change the input data in the XML file (for example there are tags <person> and ....</person> if I change it to <peson1> and ...</person1>) after saving the changes and refreshing the page, the XForms will be changed (for example some text fields are missing or they've got white background instead red one, which there was before et cetera). {I hope it is clear till now.....}
My task is: to create a xforms-binding-expression event, which will display an error message (for example: FILE HAVE BEEN CHANGED, CAN NOT DISPLAY THE PAGE PROPERLY) to the user.
i've found some stuff, how to create such message, but i need to know the exact order of commands to make it work, where to insert them, the structure etc, so I can comprehend your advices...

How to create request for generating XML

I am new to XML publisher and I am trying to generate reports from EBS using XML publisher.
What I understood so far is that XML publisher requires a data set which is in XML format and a template to view the report (rtf, pdf etc).
I was able to generate a XML publisher report from a Oracle Report concurrent request successfully. This is because the Oracele Report can generate output in XML format.
However I am curious as to know how a sql statement can be gnerated to XML format. Basically I have a consurrent program which is a SQLPLUS program and I want to generate a XML publisher report from EBS for this. Now since the sqlplus program doesnot generate a XML ouput the XML publisher it is not useful.
I dont want to use XML publisher as stand alone but want to use it through EBS.

How Do RoboHelp 9 WebHelp Generated Files Handle Map IDs and Aliases?

The text below was written by our team's developer/architect. I am the help author who uses RoboHelp to write content and generate the help files, but I am clueless how it all gets generated and is deployed. Please help. We use RoboHelp 9. I use it in Windows XP and our app and help run on IE 7, 9, and Firefox (multiple versions).
"Our application uses the numeric identifiers associated with the Map ID. For example, to get to the <appname>_home_page.htm file, we use the number 1053. <appname> = pecs, in this example.
All of this is used in a call to a RoboHelp method defined in the RoboHelp_CSH.js file. The mehtod we are calling is the RH_ShowHelp() JavaScript method and the code to perform the call, when you click on Page Help, is this:
RH_ShowHelp(0, ''/pecsHelp/index.htm>pecsHelp',HH_HELP_CONTEXT,topic);
Topic is translated to the Map ID number for the page help. HH_HELP_CONTEXT is defined in the RoboHelp_CSH.js file. This method translates into a URL and from what I have seen, the URL that gets generated is this:
http://{server}[:port]/pecsHelp/index.htm/{server}[:port]/pecsHelp/index.htm#<id=1053>>pecsHelp
Server and port get replaced with the appropriate values. I have no clue how id=1053 is supposed to get translated to mean "pecs_home_page.htm". If you check the PECS_help.h file, you will see the following entry:
#define PECS_Home_Page1 1053
Then in the RoboHelp alias file (PECS 3.0.ali), the following line is in the file:
<alias name="PECS_Home_Page1" link="pecs_home_page.htm"> </alias>
But both of these files are used during the WebHelp generation process and I don't know how the WebHelp generated files handle the Map ID and aliases."

You need to assign the numbers you find in the pecs_help.h file to topics in your help. You do this in Context Sensitive Help > Map Files > All Map IDs. (From RH7, but I assume the location is similar in RH9.) This creates the entries in the .ali file.

How to create an Empty Playlist File on Mac?

Hello everyone, I'm working on a Music Player script, I was able to play a file via the default player as when we doubleclick on a file. The problem is I have no control over the Player, so to "stop" a file I could play a "silent" mp3, one with 1 second of silence in it for example. I discarded the idea since I had to distribute this silent.mp3 file along with the script. A better option is to play a "playlist", since playlist files are text only, I could create them an empty playlist file on the fly...
so, the question is, what's the default playlist extension on a mac? and how to create one on the Mac?
in windows the default player is Windows Media Player, the default playlist file extension is *.wpl.
here's the contents of an empty playlist

hmm...I think it's going to be more complicated than I thought.
correct, this script targets the ESTK, it is part of a larger Illustrator script, which doesn't have doScript either...I would go with applescript as last resort. I think going with the playlist file is easier.
based on your comment I realized users might change their default players, so on Windows I'm going to change the playlist file from *.wpl to the more universal *.m3u, I guess whatever decent player made the default, supports this file.
so, will an *.m3u playlist file play on the default mac player (itunes) when executed?
File("~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music/emptyPlaylist.m3u").execute(); // will this play on itunes?
I noticed that the *.m3u file can be blank, it will still "play" when executed() and effectively "stops" any music file currently being played...if this happens on Mac also, that's what I'm after.

find the client jar anywhere. I use the weblogic admin console DD editor, I can
see that the edit field has been populated with my client jar file name defined
in the ejb-jar.xml. However, I searched entire system, I could not locate this
jar anywhere.

How to create table from .ini file

Hi,
The file *.ini generates a Multicolumn Listbox where is indicated a number (variable) of tables with them characteristics (row and column) as in the picture below.
I need to find the way to create automatically, on word file, the tables as indicated in the *.ini file. Do you think that it could be possible? That you know, exist a Macro to do this?

As Taki said above, to do this you need to use the Report Generation Toolkit. This will allow you to generate tables in a word document. Look for the examples in the LabVIEW Help for a rough idea of how to use the toolkit and if you have any specific questions after that then feel free to post them here.
