How to create request for generating XML

Hi All,
I am new to XML publisher and I am trying to generate reports from EBS using XML publisher.
What I understood so far is that XML publisher requires a data set which is in XML format and a template to view the report (rtf, pdf etc).
I was able to generate a XML publisher report from a Oracle Report concurrent request successfully. This is because the Oracele Report can generate output in XML format.
However I am curious as to know how a sql statement can be gnerated to XML format. Basically I have a consurrent program which is a SQLPLUS program and I want to generate a XML publisher report from EBS for this. Now since the sqlplus program doesnot generate a XML ouput the XML publisher it is not useful.
I dont want to use XML publisher as stand alone but want to use it through EBS.

Use the Data Template to acomplish that.

Imported XSLT cannot create attributes for generated XML element

I have two xslts. One imports the other.
The imported xslt creates XML elements with attributes and this XML is stored in a variable in the main stylesheet
If I perform the transformation with JRE prior to 1.6.0.18 then all works fine
If I use 1.6.0.18 or 1.6.0.19 then the attributes aren't added.
If I add attributes in the main xslt it works fine or if I output the element directly instead of first storing it in a variable then it also works fine.
Problem seems to be when you try to add attributes from an imported stylesheet and store the generated element in a variable.

Have found the difference in the code
In both JRE1.6.0_17 & JRE1.6.0_18, the class 'com.sun.org.apache.xalan.internal.xsltc.dom.AdaptiveResultTreeImpl' has the following method

Single step: Only overview screen is created i.e. the Table Maintenance Program will have only one screen where you can add, delete or edit records.
Two step: Two screens namely the overview screen and Single screen are created. The user can see the key fields in the first screen and can further go on to edit further details.

Hi ...Here is the step by step procedure for creating BAPIs.
There are 5 different steps in BAPI.
- Create BAPI Structure
- Create BAPI Function Module or API Method.
- Create BAPI object
- Release BAPI Function Module.
- Release BAPI object.
Step1. Creating BAPI Structure:
- Go to <SE11>.
- Select Data Type & Enter a name.
- Click on Create.
- Note: Always BAPI should be in a development class with request number (Not Local Object).
- Select Structure & hit ENTER.
- Enter the fields from your database. Make sure that the first field is the Primary Key Field.
- Then SAVE & ACTIVATE.
Step 2. Creating BAPI module:
- Enter TR.CODE <SE37>.
- Before entering any thing, from the present screen that you are in, select the menu
Goto -> Function Groups -> Create Group.
Enter a name (Note: This name Must start with ZBAPI)
Let this screen be as it is and open another window and there, enter TR.CODE <SE80).
Click on the Third ICON that says Inactive Objects.
Select the group that you just created and click on Activate.
Notice that the group you created will disappear from the list of inactive objects.
- Go back to ><SE37> screen and enter a name and hit <ENTER>. Then enter the group name that you just created and activated.
NOTE: When you release a function module the respective group will be attached to that particular application. It cannot be used for any other application. NEVER include an already existing group that is attached to another module.
Now click on the first Tab that says [ATTRIBUTES] and select the radio button that says remote-enabled module since we will be accessing this from any external system.
Then click on the second tab that says [IMPORT].
Enter a PARAMETER NAME, TYPE and the structure you created in the first step. Also select the check box Pa. All remotely enabled functional modules MUST be Pa enabled, where Pa means Passed by Value and if you dont select Pa, then that means it will be passed by reference..
Then click on tab that says [EXPORT].
Enter the following as is in the first three fields
RETURN TYPE BAPIRETURN (These 3 field values are always same)
Here also select Pa meaning Pass by value.
Note: BAPIRETURN contains structure with message fields.
Then SAVE and ACTIVATE.
Step 3. Creating BAPI object:
- Enter Tr.Code <SWO1> (Note. It is letter O and not Zero).
- Enter a name and then click on create. Enter details.
NOTE: Make sure that that Object Type and Program name are SAME.
- Enter Application M, if you are using standard table Mara. If you are using your own database then select Z at the bottom.
- Then hit <ENTER>.
- Now we have to add Methods. High light METHODS and then select the following from the menu:
Goto Utilities -> API Methods -> Add Methods.
- Enter function Module name and hit <ENTER>.
- Select the second FORWARD ARROW button (>)to go to next step.
- Check if every thing looks ok and again click on FORWARD ARROW button (>).
- Then select YES and click on <SAVE>.
- Now on a different screen goto TR.CODE <SE37>. Enter Function Module name and select from the top menu Function Module -> Release -> Release.
- Goback to TR.CODE <SWO1>.
Here select the menu combination shown below in the same order.
- Edit -> Change Release Status -> Object Type Component -> To Implemented.
- Edit -> Change Release Status -> Object Type Component -> To Released.
- Edit -> Change Release Status -> Object Type -> To Implemented.
- Edit -> Change Release Status -> Object Type -> To Released.
- Then click on <SAVE>.
- Then click on Generate Button (4th button from left hand side looks like spinning wheel).
- Then Click on the button that says PROGRAM to see the source code.
To check if this is present in work flow goto TR.CODE <BAPI>.
Here it shows business object repository.
- First click on the middle button and then select ALL and hit ENTER.
- Goto tab [ALPHABETICAL] and look for the object that you created. This shows that the BAPI object has been created successfully

How to create Inbound Idoc from XML file-Need help urgently

Hi,
can any one tell how to create inbound Idoc from XML file.
we have xml file in application server Ex. /usr/INT/SMS/PAYTEXT.xml' we want to generate inbound idoc from this file.we are successfully able to generate outbound XML file from outbound Idoc by using the XML port. But not able to generate idoc from XML file by using we19 or we16.
Please let me know the process to trigger inbound Idoc with out using XI and any other components.

Hi .. Did either of you get a result on this?
My question is the same really .. I am testing with WE19 and it seems SAP cannot accept an XML inbound file as standard.
I see lots of mention of using a Function Module.
Am I correct in saying therefore that ABAP development is required to create a program to run the FM and process the idoc?
Or is there something tht can be done with Standard SAP?

How to create infopackage for Cube to Cune to transaction

I have performed following steps for cube to cube load.
1. Created source cube and loaded the data from R3
2. Created Destination cube
3. Generated Export Data source for the source cube. Here I'm able to see my datasource Icon(8ZFIGL_C01). When I double click on that it is give details.
4. Defined the update rules for Destiination cube by assiging the infosource (8ZFIGL_C01) which is created in step3.
5.Now I'm searching for the infosurce (8ZFIGL_C01) in data modelling -> infosource. its not showing up any name with 8ZFIGL_C01.
Kindly let me know how to create infopackage for this to laod the data from cube to cube.
Additional information:
I have set the optopn Display Generated Object in Settings.

Right Click on "Infosource" (TA RSA12 Top at the Right side Panel) and choose Insert lost nodes and refresh the screen and now search for your infosource and you will find it.

Hi,
Table Maintenance generator is required to do Manual entries in the Table. If the requirement is to update the table only programmatically and not manually then table maint. generator is not required.
Manual entries in table can be maintained ( New record can be inserted / existing can be modified ) using transaction SM 30, if the table maintenance for the table is generated.
How to activate Table maint.
Goto SE11 and open the table.
Click UTILITIES -> Table Maint. Generator, Enter the details and click on Save. Then activate the table.

Hi Muthu,
Through table maintenance you can direct add new entries in your table. For that u need to follow some steps.
Step1 : Click Delivery and Maintenance tab in your table and select "Display/Maintenance Allowed"
Step2 : Utilities--->Table maint generator
Step3 : Give Authorization Group - &NC&
Step4 : Function group - Any ( You can give ur table name also ) This Function Group will genrate automatically.
Step5 : Maintenance type - Select first radio button "One Step"
Step6 : Maint. Screen No. - Overview screen as 1
                                              Single screen       as 0
Step7 : Click on Create button on application tool bar
Step8 : just save in your package.
Step8 : Create transaction code for the same . Environment----->transaction code
Step9 : Give any t.code name and click on create button. You will get a popup where you have to choose last radio button "Transaction with parameter"
Step10 : Give the transaction name - SM30 and check Inherit GUI Attribute"
Step11 : GUI Support - check all the check boxes.
Step12 : Name of screen field           Values
                VIEWNAME -                   Table name and
                UPDATE      -                      X
Finally u can this t.code and add new entries in ur table directly.

Well, do you want to do it the easy way? If so, then just create a table maintenance program. You can do this via SE11, utilites, table maintenance generator. The table maintenance will be generated and you can then maintain the table via SM30.
If you want to go the more challenging way, you can write your own table maintenance program using a table control on your screen. You can use the table control wizard to help you along.
