How to customize quick query to search with SQL in contain keyword
I want to build simple query using quick query component. But it will search with SQL equal keyword. How can I customize it to use contain keyword instead. That means, I enter 'sc' to return 'scott'.
Not sure if the technique described here http://tompeez.wordpress.com/2011/08/21/extending-viewcriteria-to-use-sql-contains-4/ can be used for quick query, but you can try ...

How to create quick query region?
Hi,
How to create quick query region?
I have got some tip from OAF developer guild:
OAPageLayoutBean pageLayout = pageContext.getPageLayout();
pageLayout.setQuickSearch(quickSearchRN);
But I don't know how to create 'quickSearchRN'.
So, I try to create a stacklayout region as quickSearchRN, and add it into pageLayout.
But there are two stacklayout region displayed. One in qucik query region, other in main region.
please give me some sample code.OAFlowLayoutBean quickQueryRN = (OAFlowLayoutBean)createWebBean
(pageContext,OAWebBeanConstants.FLOW_LAYOUT_BEAN, null, "QuickQueryRN");
OAMessageTextInputBean condition = (OAMessageTextInputBean)createWebBean
(pageContext,OAWebBeanConstants.MESSAGE_TEXT_INPUT_BEAN, null, "condition");
condition.setPrompt("Name");
quickQueryRN.addIndexedChild(condition);
pageLayout.setQuickSearch(quickQueryRN); -

How can I connect NetBeans 6.1 with SQL Server 2005?
Hello guys...
how can i connect NetBeans 6.1 with SQL Server 2005?
there is no SQL Server in Server list when we create a new Web Project and choose Server.
I'm new to NetBeans and this is my first time of posting.
If has some errors and unwanted disturbing,pls understand me. Thanks.
(If you have references or some snippets, i'll be glad if u can share.)
scsfdevThe JDBC-ODBC bridge wasn't recognizing any of the primary keys I had set up in SQL Server. After lots of head banging, here's the solution I came up with:
1. Download the appropriate driver. SQL Server 2000 requires the SQL Server 2000 JDBC driver (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=07287B11-0502-461A-B138-2AA54BFDC03A&displaylang=en).
SQL Server 2005 download: (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=C47053EB-3B64-4794-950D-81E1EC91C1BA&displaylang=en)
3. After installing, right-click on "Libraries" in your project, and choose "Add Library...". Next, give it a name (i.e. SQLServer2000), and select "Class Libraries".
4. On the next screen, find the JAR files (should be in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Driver for JDBC\lib\), and add them under the "Classpath" tab. It will now be available under "Libraries" for future projects.
5. You can now create a connection to a specific database under the "Services" tab (next to "Projects" and "Files" in the top left of the screen). Select "Microsoft Sql Server 2000 (Microsoft Driver)" and format the "Database URL" like this:
jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver//YOURSERVER:1433;DatabaseName=YOURDATABASE
1433 is the default port, though your DBA may have changed it.
I posted a simpler version of this on the NetBeans.org FAQ page - they had the following title with no content on the answer page:
"Cannot Select Tables From MsSql 2000 Because It Says No Primary Key Next To Each Table But The Tables DO Have A Primary Key. What Do I Do?" -
How to implement Quick Query and Saved Searches in ADF?
We are using 11gR2 ADF.
The requirement is to enable Quick Search and save the Searches.
In the Oracle ADF documentation, it is mentioned that
- Create a view with view criteria named.
- In the .jspx drag and drop the view criteria and Select Quick Query
Upon doing the above, we see that a Search panel is getting created, but with a message 'No Search Fields Added'.
In the named view criteria, Under 'UI Hints' we have set
-- execution mode as Both
-- Search region mode is Basic
-- Show Operators in Basic
Under 'Criteria Definition'
the attributes are added in a group with OR condition.
Thanks for your reply. Oracle ADF developer guide does not help!!
If you have any other documentation that helps in implementing this Quick Query and Saved Search, your help is greatly appreciated.Set the following on your af:query component
SaveQueryMode = hidden
ModeChangeVisible = false
This should work for you ..

How to find quickly what's wrong with the performance of a BW Query?
Hi All,
After a long time, I had to work on performance tuning of a query, Version BI 7.0 EHP 1, SP7.
Compression in done, BI Stats are running, showing that OLAP time is high almost 70%, compared to 20% DB Read time.
Aggregates cannot be created due to the nature of the cube, BIA is out of scope.
How to find quickly, step by step, what's wrong with a particular query.
Thanks in advance,
Best Regards,
- ShashiHi Sashi ,
1. OLAP time is more, you need to increase OLAP cache, you have different options for the query in RSRT t-code..
Select properties which makes to store the query result set in OLAP Cache for permanent.
Doc for the same :

2.Use only less no of Characteristics in the initial report. Place remaining in Free characteristics.
3.You need to check the query .It cmod code exist for any variable or your query have lots of navigational attributes then try to check for code efficiency .
4.If Front End time more then try to avoid the more characteristics in displaying the query result.
5.Use authorization objects on queries if possible .That will reduce data amount .
6.Use query read mode and global structures as when possible.

How to use unload query using JDBC with Informix database
Hi friends,
How can i use unload query using JDBC with Informix database?
When i use it as "unload to 'abc.txt' select * from ........" it gives syntax error.I want to take the data of a table to a file.With dbaccess i can use it but i need to do it using jdbc.
Thanks,
Raneesh.To the best of my ability to tell, the right way to use this product from within Power Query would be to use its API. Unfortunately, we don't currently support either of the methods needed to be able to authenticate with the service (OAuth 2.0 and a relatively-custom
digest-based method). Adding a mechanism to allow use of arbitrary OAuth-protected resources is a fairly high priority for us, and I hope we'll be able to deliver something before mid-2015.
Scraping the website is very hard to do well -- both from an authentication and from a data discovery perspective. -

Don't mix GUI and JDBC together. Split them out into separate classes.
You have a good start, but you will need to loop through your resultset and also pull the ResultSet metaData for you column headings -
Querying OBIEE catalog with SQL Developer
Hi all,
is it possible to query the Oracle BI server catalog with SQL developer via ODBC or JDBC.
I have done it with Cognos but I don't see how it can be made.
suppose that ii have DSN Oracle BI server,
I tried to put the connection parameters like this in sql developer
Hostname : localhost
Port : 9703
SID : AnalyticsWeb ( I tried also ORACLE BI SERVER)
but it doen't work
Thanks
Edited by: Houssem EL AYDI on 16 avr. 2010 05:04Hi,
In fact,my ODBC connection is on oracle BI server connection (Analytics) which contains the catalog.
With SQL Developer, I think we should go througt an JDBC connection and not ODBC. I tried to add the JDBC driver of oracle BI server to SQL Developer but it doesn't work.
But in general any ODBC-capable client should be able to query the BI Server directlyWell, I did another test with Cognos, the ODBC connection works with Orale BI.
But with an another ODBC, i just can to import the presentation catalog but the SQL query doesn't work.

How to customize the SharePoint 2010 search query string parameters
Hi All,
I am trying to redirect default SharePoint search to a custom search results page.
I modified the Search Settings to redirect to the URL that I want.
But my custom search page takes different query string parameters to provide the results.
Eg: SharePoint search passes k=search term when we perform a search. But my custom page needs
test=search term
I would like to pass 'test' instead of 'k' as a query string. Is this possible?
Thanks
CarolThere is no way out of the box to change it. You could always write your own control that passes the value or inherit from SearchBoxEx web part (if you are using a search center) to pass a different value. Query String Filter web part won't
help you here I am afraid. However, wouldn't it be easier just to change your code to take the value that SharePoint passes you?

How to customize a query in OA Framework
Hi,
I am new to OA Framework. I have a requirement to personalize iProcurement Requisition tab page. We are on 11.5.10. Customer wants to add "All" to Requisition Status field to search for all requisitions. I added a row into Lookup table with lookup code value as "%' and meaning as all.
I can see all in the poplist but when I use All and search the query doesnt seem to fetch all statuses. I thought the default where clause could be status like '%' but looks like the query might be status = '%'.
How do I customize this to handle "%" using personalization.
Any help in this regard would be great.
Thanks
sukarnaHi Sukarna,
The Requisition Status poplist in the Requisition
Search Page [
/oracle/apps/icx/por/reqmgmt/webui/ExpSearchPG ], has
'All Statuses' option as well.
The poplist is popluated by the Lookup
[ApprovalStatusLookupVO], which is based on the
Lookup 'AUTHORIZATION STATUS' defined in Purchasing.
Not clear, if I'm missing something here...!Hi Mani,
The current lookup in our instance doesnt have any All option in the lookup list (AUTHORIZATION STATUS). I am not sure if thats hardcoded in the code. But It doesnt seem to showup in the list.
Could you point me as to how to look for this directory structure "/oracle/apps/icx/por/reqmgmt/webui/ExpSearchPG"
does this structure starts with $APPL_TOP or anyother environment variable.
Thanks

Hi,
I'm new to SharePoint 2013 I want to be able to query a MSSQL database from a SharePoint App I have tried to create an External Content Type (ECT) which is produced from a MSSQL stored Procedure, this procedure has several parameters which are needed to
filter the data correctly. From here I want to produce an external list which I can then query from a c# SharePoint app. If I leave the filters in the ECT null then the list is of course empty or if enter a default values the results are limited
for the app to query so are no good.
I want to dynamically pass values to the ECT when querying from the app, is this not possible. Should I just be returning everything in an external list and then letting the query in the app filter the data, this seems inefficient?
Is this the best way to do this or should I be doing this differently?
Please can someone point me in the right direction.
ThanksHi Pandra801,
When you create a the external content type, please try to add a filter based on your select statement.

Or, try to create a stored procedure based on your select statement, then create ECT using the SQL stored procedure.

I hope this helps.

How to customize / integrate Netware 6.5SP8 with postpatches
Hi,
I would like to integrate / customize the original NW65SP8 with some recommended postpatches.
Therefore I created a small .IPS / .ICS file which is working fine if runnning manually with NWCONFIG.
When try to implement it in e.g. SILENT.ICS the orinal script stops working.
Any Ideas where and how I can integrate my own script without affecting the general functionality of the update process ??
I need a solution which allowing the execution of my script after standard procces has finished and before the server will automatically restarts.I'm not sure how t do this and I am probably going to stat the obvious here. You could add your script at the end of the IPS file before the server reboot. I'm sure you have tried that, but if not, that is what I would do. Maybe you could create a unattended install that might also let you add in the script.
