How to de-bug BSPs?

Hi All,
I'm trying to figure out how to de-bug BSP apps. If I set a breakpoint and then execute, the IE screen comes up with my content, but the Web App Builder never goes into the de-bug mode. Is there another way to do this?
The reason I need this is because I want to figure out what kind of format the "request->GET_FORM_FIELDS" method uses.
Thanks,
Roman D.

Have you had a look at the following from SAP Help:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/17/00ab3b72d5df3be10000000a11402f/content.htm
This has the step to setup your environment for debugging.

  • How to create custom BSP application in SAP CRM?

    Hi Experts,
I would like to seek help from you. I am new in developing CRM objects. My first requirement is to create a custom program that will generate a PDF report.
First thing I would like to know is the transaction code where I need to create a BSP application that will be able to run in crm webclient. Please clarify if it is in BSP_WD_CMPWB or in SE80 because it is said that I should create BSP application using MVC.
Second thing is how will I be able to call a smartforms in a BSP application. The scenario for my custom program would be, I should have a two input fields in the selection-screen which are Business Partner ID and Product Lines. together with a button that will trigger the form when ticked.
Hope to hear from all of you. Your help will be very much appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Monica

    Hello MonicAnna,
You can find some information on this page.
And also you dont have to use se80 to create new Bsp appliaction. You can create new application by this transaction BSP_WD_CMPWB.

  • How do you stop BSPs on WebSEAL for asking for user-credentials?

    Hi
We are currently having an issue with BSP Pages. When we test the BSP pages on the R/3 system they work OK. When we test them directly on the Portal then they too also work. The problem is that they are not working properly on our Intranet.
The intranet that we use is an IBM Tivoli product (also known as WebSEAL). We currently have WebSEAL SSO to our SAP Portal. This is working OK. When we use WebSEAL to access the portal we are prompted to enter our user-id and password so that the BSP page can be displayed. This should not be happening and it defeats the purpose of SSO. I have attached a screen shot document to demonstate this.
Some time ago we had a similar issue where the transactions on the portal (when executed from WebSEAL) were giving us a Webdynpro time-out error. I later determined that the cookie information was not being passed to WebSEAL. To fix this, I went to the Visual Administrator and went to server >> services >> web container and for the web container "sap.com/irj" I went to the cookie configuration to add a session cookie. By doing this I fixed my previous problem.
Coming back to my problem, I had a junction created in WebSEAL to point to the bsp directory (sap/bc/sap/bsp/*) on the host concerned. I had both a SSL and TCP junction created both resulted in error messages - stating that the client (SAP) is asking for user credentials.
Hoping that I have provided enough information above my question is as follows:
    (1) How can I get the BSP messages to work on WebSEAL such that it will not ask for user credentials to be entered? Would this involve making a further change to a Web Container? If so - which container also needs a session cookie to be generated?
    Thanks
    Kind Regards
    Rajdeep Kumar

    Hi Peter
I am having an issue with the re-direct and am hoping you might be able to provide a little assistance. If not then not to worry.
My security department have logged a call with IBM 2 days ago yet have not received any response.
In your document you mention that you need to have a junction to AS-JAVA and a junction to AS-ABAP.
We have created the junctions "/sapep" (for AS-JAVA) and "saphr1" (for AS-ABAP).
The junction /sapep" also contains the junction mapping entries "/irj/" and "/SSOTicket/".
The direct URL to the hidden image is : https://uadsfi01.auiag.corp:53001/SSOTicket/1x1.gif. I have tested this (using my user id and password) and it works OK.
When testing the image through TAM (https://test.insideiaghome.iaglimited.net/sapep/SSOTicket/1x1.gif) we get an "unexpected authentication challenge"
I have reviewed the log below and it seems that we are having an authentication issue with the image:

  • "How to...BSP display comments"...problem with row comment

    Hi all,
After implementing as recommended, I noticed that only comment captured at the 'cell' level of detail are returned (via web layouts). Documents captured using the Row' setting are not available via the embedded BSP.
The reason, it seems, is that 'row' comments do not have 0AMOUNT attached to the document properties. The soluion reads all documents with a char and key fig cross section based on a level/package definition, and this may be the problem.
A level/package in BPS0 always needs a key figure (0AMOUNT in my case)....and therefore the "How to.." solution is most likely looking for all documents that have 0AMOUNT, but it is the WIB setting of 'row' that ensures that web-captured documents do not have 0AMOUNT attached.....?
Marc, does this sound correct? Any ideas how to get around the problem without..?
    Thanks and regards,
    Rael and Natarajan

    Hi,
This How-to paper is exactly what I was looking for, so thats perfect. However I'd like to display to row comments as well, but it does not seem to work. As far as I can tell, you haven't updated the white paper yet, Marc. Is that correct? What changes do I exactly need to make it work for row comments as well?
    Thanks in advance,
    -Jacob
    UPDATE!
Ok, I found the place to comment out.
On the tab Event Handler -> OnInitialization - comment out the following line:
    ls_cha-chanm = cl_sem_mp_documents=>c_name_keyf.
That seems to do the job.
    Thanks again,
    -Jacob

  • How to track bug - Program stopped responding.

Occasionaly my app crashes with just the common Windows' message - Program stopped responding. I get no error message. How to track the bug?
    ... Podlesnick ...

Sounds like there's an unhandled exception that's perhaps occurring on a background thread.  I suggest adding an event handler for your AppDomain's UnhandledException event and putting some logging in there:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.appdomain.unhandledexception%28v=vs.110%29.aspx
You may also need to modify your application's default unhandled exception behavior:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms157905%28v=vs.110%29.aspx
The information on the above pages should be enough to ensure almost* all exceptions can get caught by your code before triggering Windows Error Reporting.
(*Exceptions caused by the whole system being in an unstable state, such as a kernel mode issue, may not be caught - at that point all bets are off).
    Quanta,
I think that there is a bug in your thinking.
     - I agree that a worker thread may cause a Kernel error
     - I agree that this kernel error may cause the application to get unstable and can cause the UI thread to start to hang waiting for a return value
     - And I agree that if this happen then this message will pop
    However,
     - If the error was silent, it is that the worker thread never returned (Otherwise, the error would have been propagated.
     - If the message has popped, it is that the UI thread is hanging (deadlocked)
Then if all your threads are blocked, ... Which thread will raise the Unhanded exception event?? ... all your threads are stopped or blocked somewhere.
This is why In the code example I showed, I used a Timers.timer to create the exception and stop the application. The Timers.timer object bring a new thread in the application when the application start to hang. This thread can be used to resolve the situation.
I choose to Abort the UI thread as it is the only logical thing to do. Plus doing this gives us the stack trace and info needed for debugging

If it's the former, then you're pretty much screwed, as you willingly submitted it to them. You can ask them "please don't read this", but I wouldn't bet on that helping.
If you're worried about it becoming public knowledge, then I'd contact them. You should have gotten a mail (either during registration or after you reported the bug) that explains a lot about the bug tracking process and contains contact > information as well. If the information is something that's obviously private information (such as username+password to a public site), then you can probably assume that Sun is smart enough not to make that publicly available. Thanks for your reply.
The reason is what you said , there are private information, so i can not let the report become public .
The private information are some class names , package names, and codes .
I got a email after i reported the bug . But i can't find contacts from the mail .
So i come here ,asking a help . Help me to contact whit them......
If you know how to contact whit them , I hope to get your help.

  • How to call CRM BSP for F4 (CRMM_BUPA_SEARCH) from BIW BSP

    Hi,
we have a BIW BSP showing:
    - query results using a web template and
    - an input field for business partner no (bp) to process.
Now we would like to call the F4 value help for bp CRMM_BUPA_SEARCH in a popup from the connected CRM system, which is reachable with CRM BSP CRM_BSP_FRAME.
How can i populate the value selected in the result list of the bp value help in the popup into the the input field in BW BSP?
    Can anyone give some advice?
    Thanks and kind regards,
    Peter

    >I found your blogs, but this seems to be very complicated?!
Complicated to implement the extension element -> yes unfortunetely that probably is the case.  Hopefully once you have the extension element in your system though, you would find that it is easy to use in applications.
Any type of highly generic programming (as is necessary to support complex search helps) is going to be somewhat complicated by necessity.  I tried to hide this complexity from the consumer of the element, but someone has to get the element into your system in the first place.
We are going to ship an enhanced version of the search help on a CD with the upcomming release of the BSP Book for SAP Press.
    <a href="http://www.sap-press.com/product.cfm?account=&product=H1903">Advanced BSP Programming</a>
We include a transport file if you just want to import it into your system or text files/screen shots if you want to implement it manually.  There are also example and test applications to help you use the extension.

  • How to call custom BSP application (copied from standard)

    Hi,
I came across 1 interesting link in SDN.
[Enhancement procedure of BSP application HRRCF_RECRUITER in eRecruitment]
    My requirement is also similar.
I need to copy the HRRCF_TRM_SRCH application.
I know how to make the changes for the logic (like copying the standard controller & iterator class etc.)
But I donu2019t know how to call the custom BSP application.
One requirement is, I need to call a BSP application, in which there are only UI(user interface/screen) changes .
That is, if there are only changes made to hitlist_cand.bsp page . And no changes made to hitlist_cand.do page.
Eg: Removing one button from screen.
Second requirement is, I need to call a BSP application in which there are logic changes also.
(I know how to  change the standard controller class to custom class)
    Eg: Changing logic of button.
We tried renaming the application name from standard to custom one (with Namespace=SAP itself, though it gave a warning) in the table T77RCF_LOG_APPL .
Then we used this name to configure the start page link. But still the execution control is going to standard page & not to custom BSP application.
How will I know which BSP application(Appl A), is calling the BSP application (Appl B) in which I want to make changes ?
    The starting application is HRRCF_START_INT.
    Would really appreciate solutions posted.
    Thanks,
    Nisha Vengal.

    Hi Nisha,
I think you have an issue to call custom BSP.
    -     Ignore the warning message (in the table T77RCF_LOG_APPL) as it is just a warning message. I did not touch start page link at all.
    -     Additionally you need to make (I had to made) an entry in table u2018V77RCF_SMG_NAVIu2019.
Let me know, if you need anything else.

To call a wd abap application from BSP use the method CL_WD_UTILITIES=>CONSTRUCT_WD_URL then just create a link in bsp with the url returned like this:
    <a href="url">Link</a>
To pass data from wd abap to bsp or vice versa that a look at this blog: /people/koen.labie2/blog/2006/11/29/eating-cookies-with-webdynpro-and-bsp
