How to declared an array of inner class ?

can we declare array of inner class ?

for example:
Country.City.Airport.Flight[] fly = Country.City.Airport.Flight[VALUE];
fly[0] = ( ( (new Country()).new City()).new Airport() ).new Flight();
System.out.println(fly[0].toString());
Class Country {
Class City{
Class Airport{
Class Flight{
}

  • Please tell me how can  declare an array of object.

    how to create a two dimentional array object of a class.
    let,
    class abc{
    abc(){
    is it posible--
    abc ss=new abc[10][10]
    please tell me how can declare an array object.

    then always use String and don't consider
    StringBuffer at the outset. 'best practices' need not
    be seen as premature optimization. besides, if it is
    abstracted, does not matter how it is stored
    internallyNot sure I would agree with this example - a String is immutable, if I want to change the object then using a StringBuffer makes sense (conveys the intend, yada, yada, yada).
    Although, I do agree with you that some optimizations are best practices and should be used. I also come from the old days when optimization was always on our mind. Also, I would not expect someone to do something like re-calculate a value every time it is needed instead of storing the value in a variable, just to avoid optimization.
    I just think that the example of using a 1-dimensional array when a 2-dimentional array is a better representaion of the "real world" will both obscure the intention and compicate the code.

  • Howto instatiate array of inner classes

    Hi, I couldn't find the syntax for doing this.
    I just want to instantiate an array of inner classes (non-static). It says '(' expected.
    Here is a small sample:
    public class test_inner {
    public class inner1 {
    public inner1 inner1_inst;
    public class inner2 {
    public inner2[] inner2_ar;
    public static void foo() {
    test_inner inst = new test_inner(); // OK
    inst.inner1_inst = inst.new inner1(); // OK, single inst
    inst.innter2_ar = inst.new inner2[10]; // fails to compile
    // also tried [10]() even ()[10] ...
    Using java 1.6 Win32.
    As always grateful for any help.

    The following compiles OK:public class test_inner {
        public class inner1 {}
        public inner1 inner1_inst;
        public class inner2 {}
        public inner2[] inner2_ar;
        public static void foo() {
            test_inner inst = new test_inner();
            inst.inner1_inst = inst.new inner1();
            inst.inner2_ar = new test_inner.inner2[10];
            // inst.inner2_ar = inst.new inner2[10]; // fails to compile
            // also tried [10]() even ()[10] ...
    }When creating inst.inner2_ar you don't use a qualified class instance creation expression (JLS 15.9) because what is being created is not an inner member class: it's an array. So the syntax for creating it is that of JLS 15.10.

  • Main method not found and how to implement events in an inner class

    How would I put all the event handling methods in an inner class and I have another class that just that is just a main function, but when i try to run the project, it says main is not found. Here are the two classes, first one sets up everything and the second one is just main.

  • How to create an object of inner class

    hi i don't know how to create an object of an inner class..
    i got something like
    class Abc{
    private class Abcd {
    like this and i want to create an object of Abcd so that i can use some of method
    there..
    i think i should create the outter class object first right? but not sure
    the syntax.. i tried something like
    Abc.Abcd justTry = new Abc.Abcd()
    something like this..but not work..
    help me plz. ...

    If the nested class (that's not technically an inner
    class you have there) is not static, then you can't
    refer to it with OuterClassName.InnerClassName any
    more than you can refer to any other member--method
    or variable--with ClassName.staticMember.
    You need an instance.
    It's been a while since I've created an instance of a
    non-static nested class from outside that clsas, but
    I think it's something like this: Outer outer = new Outer();
    outer.Inner inner = new outer.Inner();
    Actually, I think it is this:
      Outer outer = new Outer();
      outer.Inner inner = outer.new Inner();Can't test it now though, gotta go to Taco John's for TACO TUESDAY!!!!
    Gotta love them crunchy shell bean tacos!!!

  • How to make an object of inner class and use it ?

    Hi tecs,
    In my JSF application i have a need to make an inner member class in one of my bean class.
    How can i make the object of this class?(what should be the entry in faces-config)
    And there are text box and check box (in the JSP) associated with the elements of this inner class. What should be the coding in JSP so that elements in the JSP can be linked with the corresponding members of the inner class ?
    Plz help.
    Thnx in advance.

    Hi
    I am havin 10 text boxes in my application.
    But out of 10 , 3 will be always together(existence of one is not possible without the other two.)
    Now i want to create a vector of objects ( here object will consist of the value corresponding to these three boxes),there can be many elements in this vector.
    So i m thinking to make an inner class which have three String variables corresponding to these text boxes that exists together.
    What can b done ?

  • How to declare an array

    Hi ,
    how do i actually declare an array of size 10 ? but i do not want to initialise the size which i will get after some processing
    String Array[];
    int arrysize ;
    arrysize = Getsize();
    so how to declare the size here
    pls help
    tks & rdgs

    how do i actually declare an array of size 10 ? but
    t i do not want to initialise the size which i will
    get after some processingWhat a strange question. How do you know that after some processing the size will be exactly 10? If you know then why not make it 10 right from the start?
    What you need probably is a dynamic array. That's an array that can grow to fit your needs. Java has one and it's called ArrayList. Check it out.

  • How to config POF to handle inner class

    Hi, I have the following vo object:
    public class Obj implements java.io.Serializable, PortableObject
    public static class InnerObj implements java.io.Serializable, PortableObject
    1) If i put both classes in the pof config xml, it throws class not found exception for the inner class InnerObj (as expected since there is no separate class files for it). My question is what is the correct way to handle the inner class? Should i just leave it out of the pof config xml and coherence will be smart enough to handle it?
    <pof-config>
    <user-type-list>
    <user-type>
    <type-id>111</type-id>
    <class-name>some.package.Obj</class-name>
    </user-type>
    <user-type>
    <type-id>222</type-id>
    <class-name>some.package.InnerObj</class-name>
    </user-type>
    </user-type-list>
    </pof-config>
    2) Also want to confirm if implement both java.io.Serializable & PortableObject in the vo, coherence will ALWAYS take the portable object serialization if <pof-enabled>true</pof-enabled> is set in the config?
    thanks!

    Hi i got the inner class config to work but now struggling to get it to run from the java client that connects to the cache. Went through the documents, it only made me more confused, so many config files...
    The exception i am getting now is from the java application that connects to the cache, when it tried to do a cache.putAll() it's throwing the following exception:
    An exception occurred while encoding a PutAllRequest for Service=ExtendTcpCacheService:TcpInitiator: java.io.IOException: unknown user type: some.package.Obj
    So far I have done the below to enable POF:
    1) On cache server I made the below changes, and both the cacheserver and extendproxy are running fine now.
    - changed xml to: <pof-enabled>true</pof-enabled>
    - dropped the jar containing the pof objects in the classpath
    - added override pof config xml:
    <pof-config>
    <user-type-list>
    <user-type>
    <type-id>8888</type-id>
    <class-name>some.package.Obj</class-name>
    </user-type>
    <user-type>
    <type-id>8889</type-id>
    <class-name>some.package.Obj$InnerObj</class-name>
    </user-type>
    </user-type-list>
    </pof-config>
    2) On the java project that connects to the cache:
    - changed -Dtangosol.coherence.cacheconfig xml file and added:
    <defaults>
    <serializer>pof</serializer>
    </defaults>
    I am sure i am missing some config somewhere, thank you for your help.

  • How to Declare Arrays in bpel and use them as acollection

    Hi,
    I Am new to Bpel, I had created an empty Bpel Process and configured file adapter to a directory, In my text file i have 3 records with four columns, each column seperated by ',' and each record seperated by "EOL(end of line)", Below is the xsd file generated by the native format xsd builder, taken a recieve activity to recieve the contents of file from file adapter.
    So all the data which is in the file will be there in recieve activity.
    FileContents
    55555,rgfdgsd,gfdgfdg,23
    66666,retretret,trtertg,21
    77777,rtrttreter,trtter,23
    My Question is
    I want to compare whether value of C1 = '55555' and if the value is equal to 55555 then that record with c1=55555 has to be inserted into database by using Arrays
    How to compare the value of c1 through bpel functions.
    with java i have to use the logic similar to this by using Xpath
    getElement by tagname(c1);- it will give all the elements with tagname c1, three records are there with tagname c1 (c1=55555,c1=66666,c1=77777), we have to iterate through the elemnts and check whether the value iof c1='55555' and get the whole parent block which contains values of c1,c2,c3,c4 and insert that to database
    What variables we have to use to get the Similar logic in bpel

    I want to do it by using Arrays,
    Please post the step by step procedure like
    How to declare an Array?
    How to iterate the results in recieve acticity of file adapter and put them to array?
    How to compare the values in array with our desired value?

    I think it is a good option to use transformations. Do you have any critical reason why you want to do this using array?
    Little explanation below for your questions.
    As per my understanding from variable is the recieve activity variable and to variable is the Array variable is it right?
    Yes. Here I was try to build my array from the different source system data. This will append data to the array variable.
    How can we declare an array variable in bpel(to variable) with name as Variable_Array, part as payload and query as ArrayList?
    *Any element that can hold another element can be a array.
    For example if element A is declared as sequence of element B type, then A acts as a array for B*
    Could you please explain this also, what is from variable? and what is to variable?
    +<assign name="Assign_XPath_For_Array">+
    +<copy><from expression="concat('/ns1:ArrayList/ns2:ArrayElem') "/><to variable="Variable_Xpath"/></copy>+
    +</assign>+
    what is the type of to variable "Variable_Xpath"(String or int etc)?
    This creates a dynamic Xpath and store in some variable here. Here the variable is called Variable_Xpath which is a string
    similarly what is the type of to variable?
    +<assign name="Assign_Read_Array">+
    +<copy>+
    +<from expression="bpws:getVariableData('Variable_Array','payload',bpws:getVariableData('Variable_Xpath'))"/>+
    +<to variable="Variable_Read_Array_Element" query="/ns1: ABC"/>+
    +</copy>+
    +</assign>+
    To variable type is the variable that I read from the Array.
    *For example if A is the array holding B, then the to variable is B and from is doing A[counter]*

  • Exceptions declared as inner class.

    1) Is it a good idea to declare
    exceptions as an inner class, of a root class, from which it is actually
    thrown.?
    2. So if there are 6 exceptions which are thrown
    from the methods of the root class, I will declare 6 inner exception
    classes in that root class.
    3. Instead of a root class if I have an interface
    is it ok to declare these exception classes in the interface?
    4. What do you think about this logic?
    There are more Exception classes than our actual classes,
    so it looks bad, why don't we put all the exception classes
    as inner class in one rootException class?

    >
    If the API user does not catch the exception and
    handle it properly then we cannot do much. That isn't what I asked.
    I asked if the application code, not the test code, explicitly has a catch block for each exception.
    For example if you have the following exceptions.
                class BaseException
                class Exception1 extends BaseException
                class Exception2 extends BaseException
    Then that means you have the following code.
                  catch(Exception1 e)
                     // Do something with the exception BESIDES logging it
                  catch(Exception2 e)
                     // Do something with the exception BESIDES logging it
      Notice in the above that the catch block MUST do something besides just log the exception. Logging doesn't count.
    So does your code do this?

  • What is the Use of Inner classes in Interface.

    Hi All,
    Most of us we know that We can define inner classes in the interface. Like
    public interface MyItf{
         Demo d = new Demo();
         class Demo{
              Demo(){
              //some additional code here
    }Now I have following question in my mind:
    1. An Interface is pure abstract. Then why inner classes inside the interface?
    2. In what scenario, we can utilize these inner classes of interface?
    Plz Share your views on this...
    Thks for ur replies in advance.

    This we cando in defining Demo Class outside.That's no argument. You could write the programs in other languages, so why use Java? Just because you can use a top-level class instead, it's no argument against using an inner class. You also can make all attributes public... you don't o that either (I hope).
    Ok Also
    tell me how to pass an Object in inner class Demo. to
    the method of Interface.
    public abstract TheInterface.Demo doSomething(TheInterface.Demo d);
    Can u give some real time situation where this
    concept can be used.There are only very, very few. Just because it's possible, it doesn't mean it needs to be done or is done often.

  • Inner classes generated by xmlbeans

    I was given a library to use that most of it was created with the apache xmlbeans framework. The following code works within the eclipse java ide but JDeveloper does not find the inner factory class of the QueryEnterpriseAckDocument class. How does JDeveloper handle working with inner classes. This may be an issue that requires going back to eclipse as the ide.
         QueryEnterpriseAckDocument ackDoc = QueryEnterpriseAckDocument.Factory.newInstance();
         QueryEnterpriseAckDocument.QueryEnterpriseAck ack = ackDoc.addNewQueryEnterpriseAck();
    thanks,

    Is there some kind of meta-specification for JSR 269 that explains the design goals? Not really, only what is here http://jcp.org/en/jsr/detail?id=269
    With such a document, it might also be easier to figure out how processors are supposed to work.JSR 269 is designed to permit solutions to various complex scenarios rather than provide solutions. Those scenarios and their intended solution are not often obvious from the API specs.
    You might like to take a look at https://hickory.dev.java.net/ where I have a project to supply some tooling to assist annotation processor authors, and a wiki to document things. Allocating time to this is not easy, but the 3 packages in the API there are pretty robust. The test cases in source code for those have plenty of examples of some of the more complex design goals, such as the ability to write an annotation processor which works correctly in an incremental compile scenario, when the generated file derives from more than one source file, not all of which may be included in an incremental compile.
    Other than that, if you have any particular questions, just ask in this forum, and Joe (JSR 269 spec lead) or myself should be able to answer them for you.

  • Problems declaring string array.

    I am having a problem declaring string arrays in a class that I am writing now. For some reason this code won't work:
    public class rotors()
    String[] rotor = new String[5];
    rotor [0] = "ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ";
    rotor [1] = "ACEGIKMOQSUWYBDFHJLNPRTVXZ";
    rotor [2] = "BDFHJLNPRTVXZACEGIKMOQSUWY";
    rotor [3] = "AEIOUYBCDFGHJKLMNPQRSTVWXZ";
    rotor [4] = "BCDFGHJKLMNPQRSTVWXZAEIOUY";
    }//end rotorsOn the other hand, this code will:
    public class rotors()
    String[] rotor={"ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ","ACEGIKMOQSUWYBDFHJLNPRTVXZ","BDFHJLNPRTVXZACEGIKMOQSUWY", "AEIOUYBCDFGHJKLMNPQRSTVWXZ",  "BCDFGHJKLMNPQRSTVWXZAEIOUY"};
    }//end rotorsI've noticed that the first code block that I posted will work, but only if I post it in a method, but not just hanging out in the class. Can anyone tell me why this is so? It seems odd to me that the first code doesn't work while the second one does. Thanks a lot

    You can initialize a newly declared variable outside of a method/constructor/initializer block, but you can't call other statements outside of these blocks. The rotor array is declared here: String[] rotor... and can only be initialized (if at all) on this line.

  • Inner class inside a method - how does it access method's local variable?

    hello All:
    I've learnt that, an inner class, if defined inside a method, it can access the method's local variables, only when they are defined as "final".
    Anyone can help explain the rationale behind it?
    Thanks a lot!

    In java, everything is about pass-by-reference.
    Wrong! Nothing in Java is ever pass-by-reference.
    Java uses pass-by-value everywhere.
    It makes sense to me if the reason of enforcing a variable to be "final" is to prevent it being messed up.No, the reason is that a copy is made and if the variable weren't final then it could change later on and the developer could be confused because his inner class didn't "see" that change.
    The variable being final prevents that scenario.
    However, if a copy of the variable is made inside the inner class, i dont see how possible it could affect variables outside of class?Such a copy is made, but the language designers wanted to hide that fact from the developer. By forcing all accessed variables to be declared final the developer has no way to realize that he's actually working on a copy.
