How to delete checkbox in pdf form using adobe acrobat professional 6.

I  am trying to modify a pdf form having a single layer. There are some checkboxes which i want to delete. I am using Adobe acrobat 6 professional. USing Advanced Editing tools -> Touchup Object Tool , i have try to delete the checkbox, it deletes all fields and tables in the form and there is only text left on the form. Any help would be appreciated. . Thanks@

You do not use the "Object Tool" to edit forms. There should be a "Form" menu option and under this option you will have the opton "Edit form in Acrobat". This is the way one should edit/create a form in Acrobat.

  • I've created a PDF form using Adobe acrobat. I created the forms from a PDF that I made using pages

I've created a PDF form using Adobe acrobat. I created the forms from a PDF that I made using pages and word on Mac running Mountain lion. How do I allow the user of the form to insert JPEG files when filling out the form and how do I allow the user to add more fields or groups of fields as needed.

The type of form yo're describing is possible if you create it in LiveCycle Designer. It may also be possible in Acrobat, but there are certain restrictions. The type of form is known as a dynamic XFA form. LiveCycle Designer is not available on the Mac, so you'd have to install the software on a Windows machine and learn how to create this type of form. The LiveCycle Designer forum here is a good resource for getting more help.
Reader 11 now supports creating new pages using templates with a form that you create in Acrobat (Acroform). This requires some JavaScript programming. It also adds support for using a button to display a page from a PDF, which can be an image or anything else a PDF can be. So the user would click a button, be prompted to import a page from an existing PDF, and the button (or a different button) displays it as its icon. This would require the user to convert the image to PDF first, which is relatively easy these days (e.g., using Preview on the Mac, or Word on Mac/Windows). This too involves a bit of JavaScript programming, but it's very simple and straightforward.

  • Why can't I create Fillable PDF Forms using Adobe Acrobat X Pro and upload to Dreamweaver?

I can create fillable PDF Forms using Adobe Acrobat X Pro. I can email them to someone using Adobe Reader (free) and they can fill them, save and email to me. But when I upload the form to Dreamweaver CS5, the form is not fillable. And yes, I saved it as a Reader Extended PDF-Enable Additional Features.

I see no reason for this form to fail in Reader. Some questions for you.
    1. On the system with Adobe Reader, what is the system and the version of Adobe Reader?
    2. Are you viewing the PDF in a browser on the system with Reader, or in an Adobe Reader window?
    3. If it's a browser
    (a) what is the browser
    (b) if you download the file instead, and open directly in Reader, what happens?

  • I can not open a filled out pdf-form using Adobe Acrobat Pro X

I have a form in Indesign CS 5.5 and made it fillable with Adobe Acrobat Pro X. I enabled the 'additional features' to make the document a 'Reader extended pdf'. Whoever I send the form now, can fill it out and save it in (the free version of) Adobe Reader.
Problem is: when the recipients mail the filled out form back to me, I can not open the document. There is message that says: "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired."
However, when I receive the filled-out file not by email (MS Outlook on a IMac) but on a USB-stick or something, I can manage to open the document the way it was filled out.
I'm guessing something goes wrong in the mailing process...
    Can anyone help me please?
    Thanks!

    Thanks for the advice!
I'm afraid though that the problem is situated with the provider of the sender (when I open the email with my hotmail or gmail-account, it' s the same problem).
The idea of compressing the forms into zip-files is not very usefull because - i'm guessing - 90% of the recipients have never heard about a zip-file and are surely incapable of making one.
    Some other ideas?
    Thank you though!

  • How can I add a button to add multiple image in PDF from using adobe acrobat pro?

I have to create a pdf form using Adobe Acrobat Pro X.
In this form I want to add a button where I can add multiple images to the field.
I have tried using javascript event.target.buttonImportIcon(); and successfully add an image, but when I want to add the 2nd image it automatically overwrites the previous one.
Is there any way to solve this issue? I would like to have a form where I can add a lot of images in it. It is possible in word, but we really have to use adobe.
    Thanks

    Hi thanks for your answer.
I can add multiple button, but if there are 10 images that I wan to add, then I have to create 10 buttons.
Moreover, the pictures will be placed on top of each other and it means that you cannot see it clearly.

  • How do I add a functional "submit button" to a pdf form in Adobe Acrobat Pro XI ? I created the pdf form in Adobe Forms Central.

How do I add a functional "submit button" to a pdf form in Adobe Acrobat Pro XI ? I created the pdf form in Adobe Forms Central. It's for an online Diet Questionnaire. After people complete the form I'd like them to click "SUBMIT" and the completed form will be emailed to me.

This can be a bit confusing because Acrobat 11 comes with the desktop app that allows you to create simple PDF forms without having a FormsCentral account. Some people find this helpful, but you need to understand that when you generate the PDF form, it is Reader-enabled by Acrobat. In order to edit the form further in Acrobat, you have to create a non-enabled copy of the form. You do this in Acrobat by opening the form and selecting: File > Save a Copy
and opening the copy. It is not opened automatically.
You can now add a button and set it up to submit by email, either using a "Submit a form" action or the submitForm JavaScript method. You can set it up to include just the form data or the entire PDF, and will want to use a mailto type URL. Submitting the form to the FormsCentral server has a number of important advantages over email (much more reliable, more secure, etc.), so you might want to consider it.
If the form needs to be saved with Reader versions prior to 11, then you will need to Reader-enable the document. In Acrobat 11 you do this by selecting: File > Save As Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools

  • Compare two pdf files using adobe acrobat through command line

Does anyone know how to compare two pdf files using adobe acrobat through command line. I want to do this via command line because we want to compare hundreds of file every day through some automated windows tasks.
If command line option is not available in acrobat, then is it feasible to make use of acrobat javascript API to do this task?
Any kind of help will be greatly.

    Command-line: Not possible.
JavaScript: Possible, but very limited. Basically the only thing you can do is simulate clicking the Compare Documents button. The rest has to be done manually.
However, it *might* be possible to automate this process a bit more using a plugin. Ask over at the Acrobat SDK forum for more information...

  • I have developed a fillable form using Adobe Acrobat Pro. The form has several fields and some of the information is captured in a bar code. What programs must be used to open the form to properly fill the form out?  Adobe Reader, Adobe Xi, Ibook, etc.. I

I have created a fillable form using Adobe Acrobat Pro that contains several data fields with some feeding data to a barcode in the document.  I have a "button" set up to save and send the completed form one it is completed.  Some of the user are having troubles filling out the form as they are using various programs to do such as iBook, Adobe Reader, etc....  Sometimes the information is not transferred to the barcode and sometimes the "submittal button" doesn't function properly.
Please provide a solution or give me a list of the programs that must be used to properly open and fill out the form.
    Greatly appreciated.

Best option is to use Adobe Reader (or Acrobat, of course) on a desktop computer (ie, not on a mobile device). Any other configuration is likely to be problematic.

  • When printing form using Adobe Acrobat X, I get squares over my italic text

    Hi,
I have created an Adobe Form using Adobe Acrobat XI Pro and just printed it to check whether this works and the following occured:
    - When printing my 14 page document using adobe reader everything looked great
    - When printing my 14 page document using adobe prof X (not XI !) the italic text had some (non filled, seethrough) squares throughout it. The squares are not constant (5-15 squares per sentence) and I cannot recognize a pattern. However, they appear each time I print the entire document.
    - When printing only one page of the document (that has italic text on it) it prints fine with either the free adobe reader or adobe pro X.
Font is Verdana,Italic. Size is 8,27 pt. Data is sometimes embedded (I did not use this feature and have no idea what is means). I always use Windows. Right now windows 7 to be exact.
One more thing: as you can see above the file was created using adobe XI. However, my company uses adobe pro X and therefore the document had to be printable using adobe pro X.
Can someone please help me? I have put a lot of time in the design of this form and not being able to print it correctly is a real dealbreaker for using it which would mean my efforts were wasted.
I added an example to clearify:

  • How can recipients submit completed PDF forms using a MAC?

We have created fillable PDF forms using LiveCycle Designer 8.0.  They include
submit buttons that are set to submit the completed forms as PDFs.  Rights have been extended for Adobe Reader users.  They work great when the recipient is using a PC, but when they are using a MAC we have a number of problems:
    1) the Print and Submit buttons do not work
    2) when the recipient saves and e-mails the file manually, the data they entered is only visible when you click on that field
Help!  How can our MAC recipients submit their completed form as a PDF that displays all of the data!
    Thanks!

Thanks Niall.  This information proved really helpful in confirming the problem.  We ran some tests and the problem does seem to only occur when MAC recipients are using Preview.
We recieved this link from Adobe, which provides a solution if you have access to all the recipients:

  • How to process (populate & merge) XFA PDF Forms using Adobe library in Java

We have the XFA Forms (.pdf) created in Adobe LiveCycle designer 8.2 ES. We have the following requirement :
    1. We need to populate data in those forms using standalone Java programs.
    2. We need to merge the populated forms and create a single PDF out of these forms, using standalone Java programs.
Can both of these be done using Adobe PDF Library or Acrobat SDK?
What is the difference between Adobe PDF Library or Acrobat SDK?
We already have the licensed version of Adobe Acrobat Professional 9 with LiveCycle Designer 8.2 ES. Where can I get the relevant Adobe Java APIs from?
Can someone provide some sample code that could be used for the above requirements?
Please provide your inputs on these. We have been using IText, but facing some limitations in that recently.

The answer looks quite clear, and the conclusion is essentially simple: Don't use LiveCycle Designer.
Keep in mind that LiveCycle Designer originated as design tool for the according servers (that's way back in JetForms's days). For reasons I still can follow, Adobe decided to thow this design tool after any Acrobat Pro for Windows buyer. And the forms industry is now suffering from the mess that created.
Also, keep in mind that the term "Server" is used here as "service providing application".
Rants aside, was there a specific feature making you chose XFA (aka LiveCycle Designer)? Knowing these reasons can help us finding suitable workarounds.
    HTH.

  • Deleting PDF files using Adobe Acrobat Standard XI

I can't delete PDF files I created myself. I get the error message I don't have access to edit, see snapshot above. I am the administrator of my own laptop. Browsing this forum helps me to locate the same query as mine but no exact answers/steps of how to bloody delete the damn files. *sorry, bit annoyed of the run-around links & not found pages* Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I want to just delete closed PDF files. And I know how to delete using Del button or Right Click > Delete. The problem is I get error message saying the file I want to delete, can't be deleted.
I tried a number of combinations with Preview enabled & disabled, but still won't let me delete the files. I haven't tried exiting/closing Acrobat AFTER disabling Preview THEN deleting the PDF files, will try this. But if this is how I'm supposed to delete files in Adobe XI from now on, come on, seriously?! I work with a lot of PDF files. I shouldn't have to close down the application (Acrobat) just to delete the closed PDF files using my File Explorer view. It's like having to exit Word each time I want to delete closed .docx files.
    Will try & advise.

  • How Do I edit a PDF file in Adobe Acrobat 7

    Hello,
Here in the office we are currently using Adobe Acrobat 7. We want to be able to edit within the PDF. Does anyone know how to do this??

    Hi DAVIDPC1,
Acrobat 7 Pro (at 7.1.0 and, at least, the dot release prior to 7.1.0) has the Typewriter tool.
Tools > Typewriter > Show Typewriter Toolbar.
A PDF containing page content that reflects a "form" (lines to add text, boxes to mark, etc.), while a "PDF", is not a "PDF Form".
This later critter will have form fields that you can complete. Can get rather fancy.
Old Acrobat Form methods are still possible with Acrobat but, in the last several Acrobat releases "LifeCycle Designer" has been bundled.
This permits one to create "dynamic" forms (uses a flavor of XML that is "wrapped" in PDF).
So when anyone talks to the topic of "PDF form(s)" listeners often think the topic is an Acrobat or LifeCycle form rather than PDF page content that reflects an electronic version of a static, paper form.
With that said, I think you are alluding to a PDF that is page content reflecting a paper form and has no form "fields" to facilitate filling out.
So, if your version of Acrobat 7 has "Typewriter" then this tool will be found under menu item "Tools".
It does surprise me that a fedgov form is not "fillable".
    At http://www.forms.gov/bgfPortal/agencyList.do
the forms look to be PDFs with form fields or of the "eFile" type as found here
    https://www.bea.gov/efile/password/default.cfm
    Be well...

  • How do I edit a pdf document in adobe acrobat 9 extended?

I tried to edit a seachable pdf file in adobe acrobat 9
extended and it wont work. It just highlights the word but won't
let me delete it and change it. Any ideas? I thought I tired
    everything.

Just as you cannot post on this forum without creating an
account, you will need to create an account on the Acrobat forums
    in order to post.
The title of these forums clearly indicate they are for
Acrobat.com users and not users of the Acrobat desktop software.
You will also find a post outlining this as the first post in the
General Discussions forum, where I see you have also posted your
same question and gotten the same answers.
    Do
you need support for Acrobat 9? or Acrobat.com?
Just as we would not provide answers for other Adobe products
such as InDesign or Illustrator on the Acrobat.com forums, we will
not be providing support for the Acrobat desktop product on these
forums as it is a separate product from Acrobat.com. I understand
that the names are similar so this can certainly cause you some
confusion, but you will need to proceed to the Acrobat forums in
order to ask questions about your Acrobat product. As you have been
told several times by several different support agents, these
forums are not related to the Acrobat desktop product and the
support agents on this forum do not support the Acrobat desktop
product on this forum. You have been directed to a forum where you
can ask for support on the product you are using, please continue
on to that forum. The support you are requesting cannot be
    delivered on this forum.
