How to deploy a dictionary in a different db schema?

Hi all,
how I can deploy a dictionary table in a custom schema (not the default schema) in an Oracle data base?
Thanks in advance,
Vito

Vito,
Thanks for posting your solution.
I'm confused about something, though. What you describe is the process we go through to define and use data from Oracle but we haven't been able to use that data as "dictionary" data.
What I was looking for was if there was a way to have the Java Data Dictionary point to an external database. By that I mean that I don't want to use MaxDB when I'm running locally.
The reason for this is that if we require data to be loaded in the Java Dictionary db then it has to be manually copied from the various environments. For example, if developer 1 does some testing locally and populates dictionary data then when he deploys to the dev server the code will be using the Java Data dictionary on that server. The data is not carried along.
Hope that makes sense.

  • How do partition a hard drive with different partition schemes?

How can you partition an external HD with different partition schemes for different partitions? GUID one one partition and Apple Partition Map on another?
    Thanks.

I am trying to add a second partition to my (1TB) external firewire HD. Apparently it was preformatted as "MS-DOS (FAT)" and I started putting lots of files on there. Now the "partition" option in disk utility shows me the one partition that's on there, but all options are grayed-out - I cannot add another partition, it seems, nor change anything on the existing one. Is there any possible solution other than totally erasing the disk and starting from scratch? I would be hard-pressed to find enough disk space to (even temporarily) store the stuff that's already on that HD.

  • How do you join two tables from different Oracle schemas using a subquery

I am trying to join two tables from different Oracle schemas using a subquery. I can extract data from each of the tables without a problem. However, when I combine the select statements using a subquery I get the Oracle error *'ORA-00936: missing expression'*. Since each SELECT statement executes on its own without error I don't understand what is missing. The result set I am trying to get is to match up the LINE_ID from PDTABLE_12_1 in schema DD_12809 with the MAT_DESCRIPTION from table PDTABLE_201 in schema RA_12809.
    The query is as follows:
    sql = "SELECT [DD_12809].[PDTABLE_12_1].LINE_ID FROM [DD_12809].[PDTABLE_12_1] JOIN " _
    + "(SELECT [RA_12809].[PDTABLE_201].MAT_DESCRIPTION " _
    + "FROM [RA_12809].[PDTABLE_201]) AS FAB " _
    + "ON [DD_12809].[PDTABLE_12_1].PIPING_MATER_CLASS = FAB.PIPING_MATER_CLASS"
The format of the query is copied from a SQL programming manual.
I also tried executing the query using a straight JOIN on the two tables but got the same results. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks!
    Edited by: user11338343 on Oct 19, 2009 6:55 AM

I believe you are receiving the error because you are trying to JOIN on a column that doesn't exist. For example you are trying to join on FAB.PIPING_MATER_CLASS but that column does not exist in the subquery.
If you want to do a straight join without a subquery you could do the following
    SELECT  DD_12809.PDTABLE_12_1.LINE_ID
    ,       FAB.MAT_DESCRIPTION
    FROM    DD_12809.PDTABLE_12_1
    JOIN    RA_12809.PDTABLE_201    AS FAB ON DD_12809.PDTABLE_12_1.PIPING_MATER_CLASS = FAB.PIPING_MATER_CLASS  HTH!

  • How to achieve Incremental deployment of Code Files to different environments of windows azure using TFS and Visual Studio ?

    Hi
We are new to Windows azure and are developing a web application. In the beginning of the project , we have deployed complete code using Sitefinity Thunder to different environments which actually publish complete code. But now as we are in the middle of development
, we are just required to upload any new files created which can be quite less in numbers (1 or 2 or maybe few). Now if we deploy with thunder , it publishes all files and then deploys complete code which takes good amount of time. Hence we are thinking to
attach each Azure Cloud Service which is actually a different environment like staging, UAT to a TFS branch and then just check in code from local development machine to TFS and then deploy only checked in files to azure environment linked to TFS.
I hope this possible but if you can help send some links where I can see how to achieve this , that will be helpful.
Also I would like to know whether a single cloud service can be linked to a single TFS branch or multiple cloud service can be linked to a single TFS repository? Why I am asking is – because we want to deploy a checked in files revision number to a staging
cloud service and then will test there and then if everything works well then will be required to deploy these revision files to the next cloud UAT cloud service and then production cloud service. Please help.

    Hi,
We can use TFS to manage our azure cloud service application code, refer to the following to get more information about how to deploy sitefinity to azure.

If any question about sitefinity, please redirect to sitefinity forum:

  • How to deploy dictionary DC in server

    hi everyone
I'm going to deploy Dictionary DC.
There's a way for building dictionary DC in context tab of NWDS.
but no way for deploying dictionary DC  in context tab of NWDS.
Pls let us know how to deploy Dictionary Dc in server.
It's very urgent matter since we must proceed development job.
    Regards bk Kim.

    Hi BUB,
    FYI : For Your Information....
When you have created a Dictionary table, click on "Save All Metadata" on your
    second Toolbar of the perspective.
If it is a local Project:
    1. Then Right Click on Your Project and click "Rebuild Project".
    2. Then similarly, click on "Create Archive".
    3. And then "Deploy".
If it is a dictionary DC:
    1. Then Right Click on Your Project and click "Development Component"
    2. Select "Build .." from the extended menu of "Development Component".
    3. Then Select "Deploy" from the extended menu of "Development Component".
I think this may help... Also look out for any errors in the Tasks Window.

  • How to deploy a secured ADF 11g application to WebLogic 10.3 server?

    Hi,
I have just enabled security in our ADF 11g application, as descripbed in [chapter 29|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/web.1111/b31974/adding_security.htm#insertedID0] of the Fusion Developer's Guide. It works fine in the embedded WebLogic server of JDeveloper.
Now I'm trying to deploy to our WebLogic 10.3 server, which runs in production mode. I'm running into all sorts of problems. The WebLogic console seems to have hundreds of security related pages, I don't know which one I should use, let alone how to use it. The Fusion Developer's Guide doesn't cover deployment to a production server:
    >
When the target server is configured for production mode, you typically handle the migration task outside of JDeveloper using tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager. For details about using tools outside of JDeveloper to migrate the policy store to the domain-level in a production environment, see the [Oracle Fusion Middleware Security Guide|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/core.1111/e10043/toc.htm].
    >
However, this guide is of very little help to me. I found [chapter 7|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/core.1111/e10043/addlsecfea.htm#insertedID0], which says "The recommended tool is Fusion Middleware Control." I have no idea what "Fusion Middleware Control" is, where to get it and how to use it.
Long story short: I'm totally lost. I'm looking for a step by step guide on how to deploy a secured ADF 11g application to a WegLogic 10.3 server that is running in production mode. Any help is highly appreciated.

Ok, I found a [very helpful blog post |http://andrejusb.blogspot.com/2009/01/practical-adf-security-deployment-on.html] by [Andrejus Baranovski|http://www.blogger.com/profile/04468230464412457426]. I wish Oracle's documentation was as clear as this...
The blog post refers to an article by Steve Muench, called [Simplified ADF 11g Application Credential and Policy Migration to Standalone WebLogic Servers|http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/tips/muench/credmig111100/index.html]. This article presents an Ant script that migrates policies from JDeveloper to WebLogic, using some PFM. (See the last definition here.)
The problem is that Steve Muench's script assumes that JDeveloper and the standalone WebLogic are on the same machine. However, in a typical environment, such as the one I'm working in currently, this is not the case. In our case the developer stations are Windows machines, while our WebLogic server runs on a HP-UX machine. So the question is: how to perform this migration between two machines with different operating systems?

  • How can i import tables from a different schema into the existing relational model... to add these tables in the existing model? plss help

how can i import tables from a different schema into the existing relational model... to add these tables in the existing relational/logical model? plss help
note; I already have the relational/logical model ready from one schema... and I need to add few more tables to this relational/logical model
can I import the same way as I did previously??
but even if I do the same how can I add it in the model?? as the logical model has already been engineered..
    please help ...
    thanks

    Hi,
Before you start, you should probably take a backup copy of your design (the .dmd file and associated folder), in case the update does not work out as you had hoped.
You need to use Import > Data Dictionary again, to start the Data Dictionary Import Wizard.
In step 1 use a suitable database connection that can access the relevant table definitions.
In step 2 select the schema (or schemas) to import.  The "Import to" field in the lower left part of the main panel allows you to select which existing Relational Model to import into (or to specify that a new Relational Model is to be created).
In step 3 select the tables to import.  (Note that if there are an Foreign Key constraints between the new tables and any tables you had previously imported, you should also include the previous tables, otherwise the Foreign Key constraints will not be imported.)
After the import itself has completed, the "Compare Models" dialog is displayed.  This shows the differences between the model being imported and the previous state of the model, and allows you to select which changes are to be applied.
Just selecting the Merge button should apply all the additions and changes in the new import.
Having updated your Relational Model, you can then update your Logical Model.  To do this you repeat the "Engineer to Logical Model".  This displays the "Engineer to Logical Model" dialog, which shows the changes which will be applied to the Logical Model, and allows you to select which changes are to be applied.
Just selecting the Engineer button should apply all the additions and changes.
I hope this helps you achieve what you want.

  • Deploy an application - Use a different workspace and different schema

    Hi,
I have completed my application in my testing server, database, schema, and workspace. And now I would like to deploy my application to the live server with different database, schema and workspace.
I have gone through the Application Express User’s Guide and I have managed to export and import my old app to my new application. However, I failed to import my table from old database schema to my new schema. So, I can’t able to open my new application due to error in executing authorization scheme code.

Create a database link in your production environment and use the following script to update the content of the tables from your development:

    skof,
To you copy your Step List Configurations to another PC you can find them stored in the layout_current.bin file found in C:\Documents and Settings\<windows username>\Local Settings\Application Data\National Instruments\TestStand X.X directory.  If you copy this file to the same location on another PC, or even on the same PC to a different user account, your Step List Configurations should carry over.
Since this file is stored in a directory that is different for each major version of TestStand, you shoulnd't have to worry about overwriting it if you install a new major version (4.2 over 4.1). I haven't tested for minor revisions that would share a folder (4.0 & 4.0.1) but that would be the only situation in which you might need to be concerned.
