How to deploy repository manually in OBIEE 11g

Hi,
I understand that the RPD to be deployed in EM(enterprise Manager) in OBIEE 11g. But unfortunatley we are unable to open core-application in EM for RPD Deployment. The EM is very slow.
Can any one help me in deploying RPD MANUALLY or by using some command prompts other than in EM..

You have to disable the central configuration:

Change your repository in the file nqsconfig.ini
and
change the password if needed in the credential store ...

I installed Oracle BI on a 32 bit system. Used the upgrade assistant to upgrade the repository from 10g to 11g. Everything went well and I could see all my dashboard.
Now my question is I need to do this installation on my clients computer so I installed BI on it. But now instead of going thru upgrade process can I just use the upgraded repository from my system? If so how should I do the deployment?

However I need to do this on few systems. Is there a way to do without using UI. I mean can i just copy few files or update existing once to do this? Or do in silent mode. Basically I don't want to connect client computer every time if they want to install BI on a seperate box. So looking for some automated way....

In any of the RPD deployments I'm getting the same error , not for some particular RPD .
FYI , yesterday (before this issue) I had a issue with starting presentation services , so as adviced in forum I replaced the files sawguidstate and sawguidstate.atrin the location:
<Instance_Home>\instances\<instance_name>\bifoundation\OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent\coreapplication_obips1\catalog\<project>\root\system\mktgcache\<name>
with the same files from a backup or from another working OBIEE 11g (11.1.5)instance.

How to Hide a column in OBIEE 11g

Hi,
I am trying to hide a column of presantation layer table in OBIEE 11g. But it is not working.
I am doing the follwoing.
Open the permission tab of the column.
Given no access to Everyone.
Given No access the user/Application Role.
When i go to web, the column is getting displayed in the table list. But, when i select the column and press the result button, it is not giving the result.
It means, by doing the above steps it is restricting the data but visibility of column is already there.
Same way it works for OBIEE 10g. Could you please let me know this feature has been removed from 11g or if it is still there then how we can achieved that.

It's a bug in OBIEE 11.1.1.5.
Bug 12352010: RESTRICTED COLUMNS SHOULD NOT SHOW IN SUBJECT AREA
It is fixed in the version 11.1.1.6.

How to hide a dashboard in OBIEE 11g?

Hi All,
How do we hide a complete dashboard in OBIEE 11g? A particular dashboard page can be hidden by going to dashboard properties but there is no option to hide a complete dashboard. Also, in Administration, there is no 'Manage Interactive Dashboard' section like it was there in OBIEE 10g where we could hide a particular dashboard.

Go to your dashboard page --> there is catalog folder is available here you can restrict hiding dashboard users.
and dashboard folder under shared folder right click dashboard permission --> No Acess also set that dashboard property as "Hiden"

I have deployed the scheduler task in OIM 11g and also I have configured the Scheduler task in OIM Admin Console. The Java Scheduler class was not invoked when I run the Scheduler task.
I have done the following configuration to develop and deploy the scheduler task in OIM.
1) Developing the Java Class File.

7) Importing the SfsuTrustedSourceReconciliation.xml file into the MDS.
7.1) weblogic.properties

It imported the SfsuTrustedSourceReconciliation.xml file into the MDS Schema and it is available in the MDS_PATH table in MDS schema

PATH_FULL : /db/SfsuTrustedSourceReconciliation.xml
8) Imported the EventHandlers.xml file into the MDS Schema.
9) Run the PurgeCache.sh file
10) Restarted the OIM Server.
11) Loggin into the OIM Admin Console and Created the Scheduler job based on the SfsuTrustedSourceReconciliation listed in the scheduler.
12) Run the Scheduler job and log file entries are not logged into the log file. My Log File Configuration

Seems like you did it all right but just piece which if you can modify and test. The plugin.xml has two artifacts eventhandler and the schduler. Can you try creating separate plugin.xml with one for the scheduler zipped up with /lib/scheduleClass.jar and test it?
Just deregister everything before trying it and let us know how it goes.
Also the logger as I see is a custom logger, so it is extending the OOTB Logger? Just put some sysouts in the code and check for those in the server out file to be sure.

Issue with repository variable in OBIEE 11g

While i am using repository variable directly in filter it is working fine, but when i am using 'repository variable -1' in filter then it is throughing error as 'repository variable -1' is not present.
Can't we use - , + on repository varaibles in filters.Can anyone help me.

When I am running the following command "./runcat.sh -cmd diff -baseline /home/oracle/SampleAppBaseline -latest /home/oracle/SampleAppChanged -outputFile /home/oracle/SampleAppDiff.txt -folder /shared -verbosity detail" in command line it is erroring out as follows : "'.' is not recognized as an internal or external command,operable program or batch file." . Is there any other way to run this command? Please help to overcome this issue.

How to deploy repository

I am new in BI admin stuff. We just made some changes in development repository and had replaced our production repository with development. I have changed the connecton pool in the new production rpd. But the Answers reports in production are all giving ODBC error. Did I miss anything?

That's what I did.
I reverted the prod. RPD. Took screen shots of all connection pools. Once the admin bounce the services, I will copy it back and try again. I thought there is a list of items to check after RPD deployment.

Change as per the following :
1. Put the event hander in the /home/oracle/eventhandler /metadata/metadata directory and
2. Change the following in the weblogic properties
application_name=OIMMetadata
metadata_from_loc to =/home/oracle/eventhandler/metadata
This will work.
