How to Detect Application Closing

I have a Flex client running in a web browser. How can I tell
that the flex application is being closed so I can cleanup
resources that might have been open?
thanks

Do a search for the word "ExternalInterface" in the help.

How to detect the HTML extension window close in In-design? Does the In-design throws any event on opening/closing of extensions?
I have a HTML extension running in In-design CC 2014 version.
I want to perform some required set of actions before my extension window is closed(by clicking on the cross button on top right corner).
Does In-design throws any event for it? Or can we capture it using C++ plugin in some way?

Naah.......haven't got any event for that yet.
Although, since HTML extensions are using chromium browser,  as a workaround, u can attach listener to HTML onClose event, but it won't solve any purpose if you
are looking to logout session or do some business login in your code.

In AndroidActivityWrapper.StateChangeCallback exist method onActivityStateChanged. But he have only DESTROYED state, which it seems received where app finish exiting. Activity.onDestroy() called if app start exiting.

DPI aside, you can just set your resolution on the project to the target devices resolution to preview how it will look. While vectors will render much smoother on the device (higher DPI), it's a very easy way to target various resolutions for testing.
If you have the full CC suite you might want to consider using Flash Builder 4.7 which has many different device presets and allows you to create your own presets to mimic tablets and phones. It really depends how complex your project is to move over to FB.

    Hello,
I have a E71 and for a week or so the phone drains the battery quite fast.
I have seen in the journal that an wi-fi connection is opening every 2-3 minuntes for less the half a minute.
The weird thing is that the WLAN is disconected and WLAN SCAN is OFF, but the icon that shows a wi-fi connection appaers every 2-3 minutes.
So how to detect the damn application that makes wi-fi conections by my back?
    Thanks!

How can detect that cdrom drive were opened and closed?

I'm sure there are more elegant and complicated ways to accomplish this using Windows SDK function calls to kernel32.dll or something extravagant like that, but if you want the bare-bones easy way to check if the CD-ROM tray is currently opened, then simply use System Exec to query the CD-ROM drive from the command line. One example of this is shown below.
Use the command line function cmd /c d:, where d: is your CD-ROM drive. If the Standard Error output from System Exec.vi is "The device is not ready." followed by a carraige return and line feed, then voila, your CD-ROM drive is open. If not, it's closed. Anyone have a better idea? I'm sure one exists...

  • How to detect the path of Temp directory

I am writing a class library which allows users to manipulate a database in the web server java applications/applets. In my logic the Application/Applet communicate with a CGI script/Servlet in the server and that do all the database handling. My objective is to make the Client independant from the Database Drivers, and to some restrictions and possible security threats that can arrice when accessing the database directly.
99% of the work is done and now I am doing the fine tuning.
    My Problem:
When the user downloading a blob object from the server database. each time the program read the blob it will get a new copy from the server. This is not good if the blob is large (few 100 megs) . So I am going to implement a cache system. but the problem is If I am caching in the memory it will not support large objects (Memory is a limited factor). So the preferance is use the Temperary files but I do not know how to detect the path to temperary folder.
And my 2nd questions is are the applets allowed to write and read in temperary folder.

The Java default temporary file path can be determined with
System.getProperty("java.io.tmpdir")This is typically the same value as the os environment variable

  • ANSWER: HOW TO DETECT Java Plugin from JavaScript

I created a new topic because the questions about
how to detect Java Plugin in browsers are scattered
    thoughout this forum.
Basically you need to employ two approaches for IE and NS.
In IE you need to try to instantiate a small applet
(not your production applet) in order to see if browser
can do it. if the browser can do it, you can make a
call applet from JavaScript in order to find version of
JRE (as well as a host of other things).
In NS you can write a simple JavaScript which will
interrogate the browser for all plugins installed. Then
ypu can make a desicion whether to pass execution to
the next(or generated) page which hosts your applet,
or ask the user to download/install a plugin.
I ecourage everybody to host a plugin on your site
rather leave default link to it which is generated by
    html converter.
    In order to run sample,
    Prerequisites:
    Java Plugin 1.3.
If you have a different version of plugin,
substitute hardcoded plugin version in JavaScript for
    value that you have.
    1. compile java file
    2. put class file in the same directory with html file
    3. load html file into the browser.
    4. press "Check Java Plugin.." button
    5. see it work
    6. examine code
    7. uninstall plugin
    8. repeat steps 1 - 4
    9. see it work
    10. install plugin.
    Sample code follows:
    **********************HTML FILE BEGIN***********

  • How to detect modifications in an ABAP Object?

    Hi all,
I was wondering if there's a simple way of detecting modifications in an ABAP Object.
Imagine an ABAP entity object which holds several attributes and you need to know if this object has been modified. Instead of having to check attribute by attribute to compare it's previous value with the new one I came with the idea of calculating a HASH code for the object before the execution of the application which can change the object attributes and comparing it with the HASH calculated for the same object after the execution.
That way, checking only two hashes simplifies a lot the code. So.... is there any way of calculating a HASH for any object instance? if not... any other approach?
    Thanks in advance.

Sorry Hüseyin Dereli, but I'm not talking about source version control, but how to detect attribute modifications of an ABAP Object Instance.
for example, suppose you have a program which reads data from DataBase and stores temporally that data into an ABAP Object like this:
    ABAP Object AAAA{
       private attr1
       private attr2
and passes this ABAP Object into a screen for user interaction, or even a FunctionModule or Method or anything else...
data: myObject type ref to AAAA.
    myObject-attr1 = 1
    myObject-attr2 = 2.
CallFunction AnyFunction Changing data = myObject
After the execution of AnyFunction I would like to know if myObject has been changed but I'm trying not to check attribute by attribute because if myObject has a lot of attributes (not in this example but in the real source code)
It would be great if we could do something like this:
data: myObject type ref to AAAA,
              oldHash type hash,
               newHash type hash.
    myObject-attr1 = 1
    myObject-attr2 = 2.
    oldHash = myObject->get_hash()
CallFunction AnyFunction Changing data = myObject
    newHash = myObject->get_hash()
    if oldHash NE newHash.
    * MyObject has been modified
    endif.

  • How to detect the serial cable been unplugged

    Hi all,
I wrote a small application using the javax.comm api to talk to an external device. I would like to know how to detect if the cable is unplugged. Right now, if I run the application with cable not connected, if i start communicate with the device, the program will hang.
The program works fine with connection is there.
    Please help me.

there are ways that do what he wants to do (though not what he says he wants to do), but they need to be implemented in hardware.
You could monitor the voltage on some of the pins on the serial connection for example, which tells you whether there's a signal on the line.
That of course would not detect whether the cable is there, as it has preconditions. It detects whether there's a signal on the cable, which requires that the systems on both ends of the cable are powered up and that the cable itself is not faulty.

  • How to detect is response deliverred to the client?

    Hello everybody...
I have problem and don't know how to solve.
My server application runs on apache tomcat 5.5, and deals with some important data transactions.
After getting the request, server has 5 sec. to send response, after that clients will close their sockets.
The connection can be very slow, (GPRS), so it is very possible that transaction will not be over in that time.
I need the way to find out, on my server side, when response isn't get to client in 5 sec.
Is there any idea how to do that?
Sorry if my English is not so perfect.
    Thanks

Yes, but that way of write timeout means that write have 5 sec to send buffer to the underlying protocol.
I can't know if TCP succeed or not to deliver data in that short time. I think write is asynchron.
Problem is how to detect when client is disconnect and data are not delivered.
Once again, sorry if my English is not so good.

  • How can detect and remove scanned white pages in an OCRd pdf file?

How can detect and remove scanned white pages in an OCRd pdf file?

Acrobat does not support an automated way of doing this directly. You can
remove completely blank pages (pages that don't have any "marking
objects"), but a scanned page does contain an image, so Acrobat won't help
you here. There are a number of 3rd party applications and plug-ins
available. Try a Google search for
    remove blank pages from scanned
    pdf<http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=removeblankpagesfromscanned+pdf&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8>
This will bring up a few different solutions.
Another way is to use JavaScript to find text. You say that these documents
are OCRed, so if you have a blank page, it should not have any text on it.
With some JavaScript, you can identify pages that don't contain text. This
may however fail if you have a page that contains just e.g. a photographic
image. There won't be any text, but the page is certainly not blank.

  • How to detect plug-ins path for Photoshop CC?

    Hi
I downloaded new CC SDK but unfortunatelly in html doc there is not info how to detect a plug-in path for new Photoshop CC. Pdf doc also contains very old info (still for Photoshop 5.0)
    - Could you advice how my installers can detect new Photoshop CC and detect a target place for plug-in installation? Forboth  win and Mac cases.
    - Is CC a pure 64bit windows app or it also can be presented into both C:\Program files and C:\Program files(x86) folders?
    Thanks
    Maxim

    Thank, Bartek, for your responce
I checked this approach for CS4. In my winRegistry there is not {06870682-6f3c-4b97-9143-f03e85c0 bd3e} key. Should it work only for CC?
Previously, I checked "HKLM\Software\Adobe\Photohsop" and found all presented PSD versions, like #12 for CS5, #55 for CS5.5 #60 for CS6. And Wow6432Node accordingly
Will this approach work if I will search for CC the key like "HKLM\Software\Adobe\Photohsop\80\PluginPath" ? (if I had PSD CC I could check it but I dont wan to install it yet for dont break my currect working environment)
Also, could you advise what it default installation path for Mac? Some like "/Applications/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CC" ? Will CC have same plug-ins subfolder like previously versions?
    Best regards
    Maxim
PS. Ilya, it means what I should check bot 32 and 64 bit windows versions and for CC also? 32bit windows version of CC is still available? wot is <version> key for CC? 80? CC? Do you know what is default installation path for CC on Mac?

  • Trigger invalidations, how to detect cause?

    Hello,
is it possible to somehow detect what causes object(PKG/PRC/FNC/TRG) invalidations?
Application users doesn't have righst to compile the object. After invalidation object can be again successfuly recompiled by ALTER XXX COMPILE; command. For example we are using after logon trigger for application users, this trigger gets sometimes invalidated for no obvious reasons, users are unable to login to the database because they're hitting permission denied upon trying to compile this trigger. Any hints on how to detect what is the cause of these invalidations?

  • How to detect Memory Leaking Problem in Java

I have a Java multithreading program & I suspect that there is a memory leaking issue in the program. Can someone tell me how can I know how to detect where is the memory leakage in the program?
I have download a few tools like hat, jprobe, optimizeit but not sure how to use it. I am using jdk1.3.0 in HP-UX
    Thks

Not so true, you could have a memory leak if you accidental hold on to a resource, or maybe you have threads running that you have no reference to, and those threads hold some resources.
Optimizeit is pretty easy to use. You start you application with Optimize it, so Optimizeit is you JVM so to speak. In optimizeit you can get a list of active objects. If this list grows and grows, you probably have a problem. Let it run for a while, and see which objects are the most present, dubble-click it, and it lets you step down into you methods. This way you can maybe find you leak.
    Good luck :)

But I don't know how to detect what keyboard is currently active. How to detect this? Thank you.

I answered my own question - see
    http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Loading-and-Running-a-VI-on-a-cRIO-from-a-PC/td-p/796657
On the Real-Time CompactRIO Properties > VI Server, you must check the box for TCP/IP protocol, which by default is unchecked.
Also, when you make a Build Specification for a VI and set it to run on startup, you can still enter the VI name (not c:\ni-rt\startup\startup.rtexe) as the VI Path on the Open VI Reference.
