i want this program start automatically whenever client connects to the internet or a ras server. for this i think a program should run all the times at client detecting connection and when it founds that client has connected to the server it start the application which will download the data to the client
can someone give any idea about how this can be done.
how the connection can be detected.
also i want this whole process should be hidden there should be no taskbar button for these processes.
please tell me how to do this

    Hi
    I have class with GUI and this class will download some files from server. When user click download, I want to detect user have connected to Internet or not . If not , I want to show a page to remind them to connect to internet first. But how to detect they are online or offline?? Which way is easy and simple. Thanks

    From memory i think InetAddress.getByName should pop up the dial up dialog box of the connection is not present (atleast in windows):
    boolean internetConnectionPresent()
      try
        java.net.InetAddress addr = java.net.InetAddress.getByName( "www.yahoo.com" );
        return true;
      catch( UnknownHostException uhe )
        return false;

    Using java it would require using JNI and/or Runtime.exec().
    And in all likelyhood it would require a variety of different code to detect different types.

  • Live stream - How To Detect connection success AND video stream receiving?

    Hi,
    I'd like to know how to catch the Event when the NetConnection has successfully connected,
    And after being connected, but nostream is published to the server yet.
    I'd to catch the Event in OSMF Player, when a real video stream has started to be pusblished to server, and of course is received in the player.
    Because i dont find the Event making a difference between connection and stream receiving.
    Thanks.
    Seb

    you should watch for a NetStream.Connect.Closed NetStatusEvent being sent to the NetConnection object, where the event.info.stream object is the NetStream in question.

  • How? Detecting connection attempt via tunnel

    We have developed a variety of services with our own security measures to screen incoming connection attempts. We code to the framework sockets.
    Yesterday in the news I saw that Netflix is disallowing tunnel connections. That is where someone from a foreign country gets source IP anonymity by tunneling through various proxy sites in the US, making it look like their connection came from within the
    US where Netflix is allowed. We see foreign hackers trying to play the same trick with us, and I would like to circumvent that if possible.
    Is there some way programmatically via .NET Sockets and listener that I can detect a connection attempt through a tunnel/proxy? If not, then is there any way?  There must be, because Netflix is already doing this.

    Dear Poster,
    WCF includes a large set of performance counters to help you gauge your application's performance. The Performance Counter component also enabled from Microsoft .Net Framework namespaces. So you can programming the WCF Performance Counters and monitor interesting
    WCF counters, like the incoming connection attempts.

  • How to detect connect and disconnect of DAQ(5133)

    When 2x5133 connected, need to report to user that they are connected.
    When they are disconnected, need to remind user that are disconnected.
    I am trying to make it as a loop, run the device finder again and again, is there any better method.
    Any suggestion, thanks.

    you should remove the laptop first before you disconnect, and connect the power to the ultrabase first before you dock.

  • How do I connect and detect a high frquency pulse (0-3500hz) with a variable pulse voltage (0v low,5-10v high), on a SC-2345 connected to a PCI-6224?

    How do I connect and detect a high frquency pulse (0-3500hz) with a variable pulse voltage (0v low,5-10v high),  on a SC-2345 connected to a PCI-6224?  Labview doesn't generate a waveform if I try to graph the signal, and my analog input doesn'y recognize that the signal is even pulsing, only that it has a voltage.  Some advice would be much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Garrett

    Hi Garrett,
    It sounds like you want to do Frequency Measurements of a signal that is somewhat digital.
    There are two ways you can really do this:
    Wire your signal to the counter input and use the Digital Frequency examples (Help > Find Examples > Browse > Hardware Input and Output > DAQmx > Counter Measurements > Digital Frequency)
    Continue taking analog measurements and use some sort of logic to determine where you are getting rising and falling edges.
    I would recommend doing method #1, but you must determine which one is the best for your system.
    If you want to connect to the counter pins then you will find the
    terminals located on the side of your SC-2345.  If you don't need
    to condition your signals then simply wire everything into the proper
    pins for your counter (below).

  • How to detect which application connects to the in...

    Hello,
    I have a E71 and for a week or so the phone drains the battery quite fast.
    I have seen in the journal that an wi-fi connection is opening every 2-3 minuntes for less the half a minute.
    The weird thing is that the WLAN is disconected and WLAN SCAN is OFF, but the icon that shows a wi-fi connection appaers every 2-3 minutes.
    So how to detect the damn application that makes wi-fi conections by my back?
    Thanks!

  • How to detect an Internet connection?

    I want to create an application which calculate the time of a Internet connection but I don't know how to detect it! Help me, thanks.

    Not surprising since there is no such thing.
    Connections only go from computer to computer. When you send email your computer connects to a computer. And it sends the email to it.
    When you try to connect to www.yahoo.com your computer connects to a computer. It gets an address. Then it tries to connect to that address.
    And every time I said 'connect' about there are very likely other "computers" involved in the transaction.
    And if any of those devices fail then you won't connect.
    Notice in the above that there is no "internet". There are just computers and connections.
    So now that you know what is happening you will now know how to code your own solution.
    Or you can provide more detail as to exactly what you are trying to determine so that a more specific answer can be given.

    how do I connect my new (purchased last week) macbook air to my samsung smart tv? I purchased the adapter at the apple store and connected to the TV via HDMI cable.  The TV says "no signal.  I do not see TV as an option in the display tab of system preferences.  what else do I need to do?

    First, make sure your TV is tuned to display the correct input signal. Most TVs have several inputs (multiple HDMIs, cable connections, RCA etc) so double-check that you're using the correct one - HDMI1, HDMI2 or whatever is written next to the port.
    I assume that you have a mini-Displayport to HDMI adaptor? If you open displays preferences, first tick the box that says "show display preferences in menu bar" then locate the menu and click Detect Displays. See if that helps.

  • How do i connect three external monitors to a macbook pro?

    How do I connect three extrenal monitors to my Macbook Pro?

    I have a USB to DVI adapter from kensington. I use to use it to power at 14" display.Moving windows around had some tearing and lag. Typing lagged, but it was use-able. It was fine for displaying diffrent stats. The OS treated it as it would any additional display.
    But I found it undesirable for any thing tha requires lots dragging and clicking.
    Every so often the device would lock up. At witch point the computer would get stuck trying to detect the USB display. I would have to unplug the adapter, cycle the power on the adapter. And then it would be good for a couple more months.
    Also some times after a reboot, the adapter would stop working. I would have to unplug it, and login, and then plug it back in.
    Coping file to my USB 2 harddrive seemed to cause more lag to the USB to Video Adapter.

    Normally, you just connect the monitor to the MacBook using a VGA adaptor that you can buy from an Apple Store.  Now try System Preferences > Displays > Detect Displays.  You should now be able to select a display mode for the monitor.  If it still doesn't work, then I'd check that everything is properly connected.  I've had problems with colours disappearing due to a faulty connection in the VGA adaptor.

  • How can i connect the Faulhaber Motor to MID-7654?

    How can i connect the Faulhaber Motor (3564 024BC, with Encoder HEDM 5500 B12) to MID-7654?
    The Motor has following wires:
    A: Hall sensor green; A: Phase brown; B: Hall sensor blue; B: Phase orange; C:  Hall sensor gray;
    C: Phase yellow; +5V: Voltage red; GND: Ground black
    The Encoder has:
    5: Channel B; 4: Vcc; 3:            Channel A; 2: Channel I (Zero impulse); 1: GND
    I don't know how I can connect the encoder to MID-7654 using these wires (what is Encoder Index? Instead of this i only have Channel I !)
    Thanks!
    WLAN

    Unfortunately there are different designators for the encoder signal which NI refers to as encoder index. In your case I am pretty sure that the I channel is identical to encoder index.
    Other designators I have found are Z (z-ero signal) and R (r-eference signal) for the index signal.
    Make sure that the index signal is at the correct level. For most applications it should be active low (i.e. it should be at high level during most of a turn and go low when the index mark passes the opto switch, I think it should be like this on most if not all Agilent optical encoders as you have it on your motor. This happens for a very small turning angle only and is hard to detect when turning an encoder/motor manually, so if you try to find the index signal turn the motor/encoder veeery slowly.

    Since you use the term "PC," are you using an Apple computer or something that is Windows based?
