How to determine if a management exception is a warning or error

I'm using MBeans to deploy an application. The 'task' MBean indicates via a getError call that a weblogic.management.ManagementException was thrown. In this particular case the detail message says "..[Management:149315]No server ...". In the message log it indicates that this is a warning rather than an error. How can I tell if such exceptions are really just warnings or hard errors? I don't see any methods or public fields in ManagementException that would indicate either way.
Thanks,
Rick

wow! quick response!
Thats what I'm sort-of doing in VBscript.
I don't have any problems with Volumeinfo its always there. (in event 4 or 14).
When the machine is a HyperV host there is a added section "component info" and thats where the datatransfered is located for the VMs. so I add both toghether (also works great)
When I run my updated script on machines without any VM it tries to read the node "ComponentInfo" and comes back with a error. (cause its not there)
I keep getting this error (see below) I know the component info is not present but I'm not sure how to have the script check if the object is empty, null, not present, etc... so i can tell the script to skip this section.
Object required: 'bkcaphv(...)'
Script error in line 1783, position 30
...I am working on converting my whole script to Powershell. unfortunatly, its a very long script (3000+lines) so its going to take a while. for the moment i'm stuck working in VB.

    Thanks Easwer for your help.
    The info for getting status from function is very clear and I followed you instruction and completed the coding in BAdI and tested it successfully .... Thank you very much.  I need to learn where I can see the system status of the template,  i.e.  I1034 (Order Template) or Order or Quotation .....?  if I need to filter out Quotation, I can easily do it in the BAdI.   Could you please provide me more details?

  • 9i - How to Determine If Oracle Management Server Has Been Configured ?

    hi all,
    I'm using 9.2 on a Windows 2000 server - but I'm new to this server and don't know what has been done in the past.
    I'm getting the VTK-1000 error when I try to connect in Oracle Management Server mode.
    To determine the problem, I need to know how I can determine whether the Oracle Management Server has been created/configured. Also, how can I know that the Repository has been created?
    This is what I've tried:
    -Tried logging in as sysman with a password of oem_temp
    - checked the Windows services - none exist as OracleManage... which causes me to think OMS was never configured
    But I dont want to destroy something that may already exist. That's why I want to confirm first.
    Sorry for the lame question - I'm new to Oracle.
    Thanks, John

    Well, then you don't have the SYSMAN password. Here you have two options, the first one, is to try to recover that repository or the second option, to get rid of this repository and create a brand new one.
    If you are willing to use the existing repository, then you will have to reset sysman's password, the procedure to perform this task is as follows:
    Connect by means of SQLPlus to the repository, you should open a session with the OEM repository database owner. In case you don't have this password (most probably) you will have to temporarily reset this password, as outlined on the bottom procedure.
    Open a session to the database as the OEM repoistory owner, let's say OEM_REP or whatever is the actual repository.
    sqlplus <OEMRepositoryOwner>/<OEMRepositoryOwnerPassword>@<OEMRepository>
    At the SQL prompt issue the command:
    execute smp_maintenance.reset_sysman();
    Your sysman password will be reset to OEM_TEMP, then you can enter if the repository is up and running, and you can issue commands to check status and shutdown it.
    Temporarily resetting a db user password:
    1. Connect to the database as sysdba:
    sqlplus / as sysdba
    2. At the sqlplus prompt query the dba_users table to get the password:
    select username, password from dba_users where username='<OEMRepositoryOwner>';
    Copy the current password in a safe place.
    3. Set a new password, let's say 'X'.
    Alter user <OEMRepositoryOwner> identified by X;
    4. Once you are done with the previous reset sysman procedure, then you can restore the user password:
    alter user <OEMRepositoryOwner> identified by values '<PreviouslyEncodedSavedPassword>';
    Then you are done.

  • How to determine employee type (management vs nonmanagement) in WebDynpro

    Hi,
    I am running SP14.
    In my WebDynpro application, I need to hide/show a link based on if the employee is management or nonmanagement.
    What is the easiest way to determine the type of employee in a WebDynpro?  Is the management/non-management attribute already exposed and available to the WebDynpro?  Or do I need to invoke a BAPI/RFC to retrieve that information from SAP (eg Employee Group or Personnel Area)?
    Thanks for any help you can provide.
    Kevin

    You only need to call this RFC once and share the results with other views via context binding!
    In my applications I follow the Floorplan manager architecture and have one web dynpro component for all the frontend logic e.g. FcAddress
    In the component controller of FcAddress I setup model nodes for the RFC e.g.
    Address_Input (mapped to input RFC model class with all the import parameters of the RFC)
    Address_Output (mapped to either the output RFC model class with all the export parameters of the RFC or it includes another model node for Address_Records which is mapped to the export table parameter.)
    Address_Messages (mapped to the return parameter of the RFC (BAPIRET2).
    All other views with their component controllers are mapped to those model nodes to allow access to the RFC data.
    You can pass the userid to the RFC and then the RFC will get the related employee number via IT105/ST10. You just need to have the userid defined as an import parameter in the RFC.

  • How to determine where Music Manager stores the fi...

    Hi!
    Is there any way to tell to Music Manager how I want my mp3 files to be stored in my 9300i phone?
    I have created one folder in my laptop where I have copied music files from different artists and different albums. I try to use the random transfer from this folder and I want the files to be copied to my phone similarly (that is all files in the same folder). All I get is a separate folder for each and every artist and below that a folder for each and every album.
    I could use the File Manager to move the files to my phone, but I'd like to use the random transfer in Music Manager...

    That's the way Nokia Music Manager works. Artist -> Album -> Song. It's the whole idea of the manager.
    Previous phones: 3330, 3410, 3510i, 3200, 6230, Nokia N70, Nokia N73, Nokia N82, Nokia 5500 Sport & Nokia N97

  • How to Determine the Oracle Identity Manager Server Version?

    Friends,
    I have two questions about the Identity Manager...?
    How to Determine the OIM 11g Server Version?
    How to Determine the OIM 9 Server Version?
    Thanks

    The bundle patches are found by build number. If you go to metalink and check the bundle patches, there is a build number associated with them, usually also contained in the xellerate/config/Version.props file. This is written to the XSD table during patching. Once installed, there is no identifier that says "BPXXX applied".

  • In backflushing, how to get batch determination for IM managed components.

    Hello friends,
    During confirmation, in Goods Movements screen, we get auto batch determination for WM managed components (based on their control cycle record).  However, we are NOT getting auto batch determination for IM managed components.
    We have created batch selection/sort, and search strategy for Orders as well as Inventory Management.  We have also created condition records for the above IM managed components.  But still auto batch determination does not take place.
    Kindly help how to get auto batch determination of IM managed components during confirmation.  Thanks.

    Hi Tajuddin, Prashob,
    I marked my query as "solved", but I need one clarification please:
    OSPX is a pre-requisite config to OPJ2.  In OSPX, we have selection for "sorting" by Item-Table, Price, & Quantity.  Can you please briefly explain how these 3 sorting is supposed to work ?  Thanks.

  • How CSSCAN determines which indexes need to be rebuild ?

    Hi everybody,
    i'm currently migrating 3 Oracle databases that contain CP1252 characters unproperly stored in WE8ISO8859P1 instances.
    The key steps of the migration are :
    1. ALTERing CHARACTERSET to WE8MSWIN1252
    2. changing CHARACTER SEMANTIC LENGTH for CHAR and VARCHAR2 columns
    3. truncating data stored in VARCHAR2(4000) columns
    2. Full export
    3. Full import in a ALL32UTF8 instance
    To do all of this (and especially the step 3), i use the CSSCAN utility (very practical !!!).
    And i have a question about CSSCAN: how CSSCAN determines which indexes need to be rebuild. What is the logic ?
    Looking at the CSSCAN report, i have a lot of cells/columns that are affected by the characterset migration, and i have just a few index to rebuild.
    Why would i like to understand the logic ? Because i would like to rebuild ONLY indexes that REALLY need to be rebuilt and i am not sure that all the indexes specified by CSSCAN really need to be rebuilt.
    Thanks for any information about that.
    (and sorry for my english)
    NB: i have managed "function-based indexes" specifically: i drop them before the export, and i recreate them after the import. So my question mostly target the "regular indexes"

    1. All indexes whose key contains at least one character column with convertible or exceptional data, excluding indexes with names equal to some constraint name for the same owner.
    plus
    2. All functional indexes on tables that have columns needing conversion, excluding indexes with names equal to some constraint name for the same owner.
    The condition regarding constraints does not seem to be very fortunate but it comes from times when the appropriate flag in index metadata was not yet available.
    But note that in your migration scenario, you do not actually have to care much about indexes. Step 1 & 2 do not need any modifications to the user data and hence to index contents. Step 3, if done through UPDATE, will modify affected indexes automatically. Step 4 does not affect the database. Step 5 will recreate all existing indexes anyway.

  • How to determine the Docid

    I would like to open a web intelligence detail report I created from within an xcelsius dashboard.
    However, I can't use the FS command button or URL buton, because I don't know how to determine what the document id for the webi report is.  I've gotton lost wandering around the business objects website.  Since our company is new to BOBJ, no one on the project team is quite sure how to do this either.
    Can anyone point me in the right direction.  I'm not a .net  or web services developer.  I just create universes, webi reports and dashboards.
    Thanks.

    I can provide you with this tip:
    To obtain the document ID, navigate to the document in InfoView, hover your mouse over the document name hyperlink, and look for the ID number in the browser's status bar. You can also obtain the document ID from the Central Management Console.

  • How to determine the  Comp Cord / comp coordinator / Company Coordinator.

    Hi,
    In tcode pa30 i see there is Comp Cord field. so these are the HR persons right which use the three digits numbers.
    So my question is how to determine that the user/ pernr is comp cord?
    I want to create the fm and  pass user id as import and want to find out where this user is belongs to comp coordinator or not.
    i do see some entry in the T526 table but not sure, how it work.
    Regards

    Hi Ali,
    Administrators and administrator groups are  configured via the following SPRO step:
    Personnel management - Personnel administration - Organizational data - Organizational assignment - Define adm group & define administrators.
    However, as far as I understood, you want to have a backward way.
    I mean, you want to know which of your employees are comp coordnator/administrator?
    Is it right?
    If yes, there is, unfortunately, no connection between employee master records and administrator records.

  • How to determine the maximum allowable length of a filename for Window ?

    Hi all,
    Could I know how to determine the allowable file length (the length of the absolute path) for a file in Window environment?
    Due to some reason, I generated a zip file with a very long filename ( > 170) and put in a folder(the length of the folder path around 90). The length of the absolute path is around 260.
    I used FileOutputStream with the ZipOutputStream to write out the zip file. Everything is working fine while i generating the zip file.
    However, while i try to extract some files from the zip file i just created, i encountered the error
    java.util.zip.ZipException The filename is too long.
    I am using the class ZipFile to extract the files from the zip file like the following
    String absPath = "A very long filepath which exceed 260";
    ZipFile zipF = new ZipFile(absPath);  //<-- here is the root causeIs it possible to pre-determine the maximum allowable filepath length prior i generate the zip file ? This is weird since i got no error while i created the zip file, but have problem in extracting the zip file ......
    Thanks

    Assuming you could determine the max, what would you do about it? I'd say you should just assume it will be successful, but accommodate (handle) the possible exception gracefully. Either way you're going to have to handle it as an "exception", whether you "catch" an actual "Exception" object and deal with that, or manually deal with the length exceeding the max.

  • Event handler for dropdownlistbox how to determine selection ?

    Hello,
    As a newby in BSP programming, I'm trying to build a small application with a menu structure . This menu is defined in a page fragment and consists of dropdownlistboxes. The event handling is located in the main page which contains the page fragment.
    My problem is that I cannot get these dropdownlist boxes to work. The coding in the page fragment is :
    ==========================
    <htmlb:content>
      <htmlb:form>
        <htmlb:dropdownListBox id             = "myDropdownListBox1"
                                 tooltip        = "Tooltip for my DropdownListBox"
                                 onClientSelect = "alert('myDropdownListBox1')"
                                 onSelect       = "mySelect" >
            <htmlb:listBoxItem key   = "k1"
                               value = "MenuChoice1" />
            <htmlb:listBoxItem key   = "k2"
                               value = "MenuChoice2" />
            <htmlb:listBoxItem key   = "k3"
                               value = "MenuChoice3" />
            <htmlb:listBoxItem key   = "k4"
                               value = "MenuChoice4" />
            <htmlb:listBoxItem key   = "k5"
                               value = "MenuChoice5" />
            <htmlb:listBoxItem key   = "k6"
                               value = "MenuChoice6" />
          </htmlb:dropdownListBox>
        </htmlb:form>
    </htmlb:content>
    ==========================
    The event handler ( OnInputProcessing ) code is :
    ==========================
    CLASS CL_HTMLB_MANAGER DEFINITION LOAD.
      DATA: event TYPE REF TO if_htmlb_data,
            ddlb_event TYPE REF TO CL_HTMLB_EVENT_SELECTION.
      event = CL_HTMLB_MANAGER=>get_event( runtime->server->request ).
      IF event IS NOT INITIAL AND event->event_name =
                 'dropdownListBox'.
          ddlb_event ?= event.
        CASE event->event_id.
          WHEN 'myDropdownListBox1'.
            CASE ddlb_event->selection.
           WHEN 'k1'.
            .......( Contains other statements )
           WHEN 'k2'.

            .......( Contains other statements )
         ENDCASE.
        ENDCASE.
        ENDIF.
    ==========================
    I have tried several different event handlers including the example in the documentation of the dropdownlistbox HTMLB element, but in the event handler I don't know how to determine the selection made.
    I would appreciate it hugely if someone could give me an example how to do this ?
    With regards,

    Hello,
    Thanks for your answers & suggestions Subramanian, Ulli & Sebastian.
    I forgot the <htmlb:content> tags ( thanks Ulli ) and eventually I got things working with the following :
