How to determine the size (in pixels) of the current mode

Hello.
I am looking for a was to determine the size (horizontal and vertical pixels) of the current mode (SAPGUI window). I have already looked through the methods provided by class CL_GUI_CFW...
CL_GUI_CFW=>GET_METRIC_FACTORS provides the size of you display (i.e. 1600 x 1200 pixels) and some other information I am not able to interprete.
Futhermore I have had a look at the Methods CL_GUI_CFW=>COMPUTEPIXEL, but I don´t know how to use them.
Has anybody of you any experiences in this topic? I would be grateful ...

but i didn´t find out, why these programs should be able to solve my issue. They just display a picture using the CL_GUI_PICTURE control.
I am looking fo a way to resize a given control to the very maximum, so that it fills the whole SAPGUI window!

The words under pictures on the photo pages are also part of the template. What you see is the default.
But you can change this. You can change the font, font size and font color. Just hightlight it by dragging the cursor over it and select font to change the font and size. And you can use the color wheel to change the color

Edit: if you choose a large font you may have to adjust the space between the pictures. This can be done in the inspector. Just play with it to see what works.

How to detect the size in pixels or percentage of a scrolling area?

Hello there!
I'm working capturing scrolling images and found a problem when I try it in another laptop, the thing was the resolution because in mine the scrolled area is added to the principal image and as I go down I merge the scrolling. But in other machines the image appears wrong, with the browser status bar in every scroll.
Can somebody help or give me some other address where I could find something useful?

So you have some sort browser with a scrolable view. As scrolling is preformed you add the newly revealed area to an an image. As more area is revealed, the image is made larger to paint the new area in addition to the old area. Ideally when the whole view has been looked at and scrolled through, then the image reflects the entirety of the view. The problem is, on one particular laptop when the user scrolls, the status bar keeps appearing as part of the newly added area, so you end up with an image of the view along with a bunch of status bars painted in various places of the image.
Am I correct so far?
If so, then I guess the question is are we even dealing with Swing components? Why can't you just call
myScrollPane.getViewport().getView();and paint that?

Dynamically controling the size (in pixels) of array elements?

Hey Everyone,
I am writing a large vi where front panel space is becoming a limitation. One of the elements that I want to display is a 2-D array of boolean indicators (rectangular LEDs). Is there any way to dynamically resize the elements in the array so that regardless of the number of elements, the entire array is always visible and has a constant footprint. For example, say the array is 8 x 8 elements, and takes up 160x160 pixels on the front panel so each element is roughly 20x20 pixels. Then the number of elements shifts to 4x4. I want the display to stay 160x160 pixels, but the size of each element to double to 40x40 pixels. Is this possible?

So thank you for two great ideas/examples. Definitely think I have a couple of very workable approaches. I have a follow on question about using the intensity graph approach.
First some background. This indicator is going to show the progress of a sorting operation, 1-4 copies of 1-8 unique items are being sorted into 1-32 containers. The items arrive at the sorter in random order, are identified, and then placed into the container where they are still needed. The point of this indicator is to show the user, at a glance, how full each container is andwhich componenets are missing. I want the elements (columns) to appear different for the unique items, which I know you can't do in an array of booleans. So I had already dumped the boolean approach for an array of colorboxes, and it was the color boxes that I was trying to dynamically size. There is still a boolean array to keep track of if an item has arrived, but that array drives the array of colorboxes where each type of item is color coded by assigning a gray value to colorbox for false, and a particular color if true. See attached, which works pretty well (detailed adjusts will make it just right).
I think the intensity graph will look much nicer though, so here is the question:
How do I map the different colors onto the intensity graph so it looks like the colorbox array without the lines? The attached get vi puts out a different value for each yes/no, which is to say I already know how to take the boolean and convert the 1 state to a unique number, what I don't know how to do is map that number into a particular color on the intensity graph.

At first I would have said that the total SWAP size is 6,6GB, but now I am in doubt since I see several SWAP line on the df OUTPUT.
Please help:
1. What is the total SWAP size for the machine?
2. Why is there 4 lines mentionning SWAP on the df OUTPUT?
3. With 8GB of RAM on this machine do I need to increase the SWAP?
4. If yes how to increase the SWAP?

Swap can be a confusing thing. It's an overloaded term that people often use to mean somewhat different things.
1. Determine the swap allocated for the system with swap -l. The number of blocks minus the swaplo value will give you the true count. Blocks are 512 bytes, so do the math to get a GB value.
2. df output reflects file systems that are currently in use. In Solaris 10 there are a few virtual file systems that are backed by swap space itself. You'll notice all these swap fs components have the same size because they use the swap as a common pool.
3. Sizing swap shouldn't be based strictly on the amount of physical memory available. While there are guidelines for doing precisely that, those guidelines are given for the general case (i.e., no information on the apps that will be running). Monitoring demand is key. swap -s and vmstat will both give you a good general view of the demand for swap.

4. The easiest way to increase swap is to make files that can be added to the overall swap space. I generally prefer this approach from the ground up, because it means I never have to dedicate disk space to a swap region. There are different steps for doing it with UFS and ZFS. Here's the ufs way:
a) Pick a UFS file system with space on a disk that isn't hot. Make a swap file and add it to the swap space like so:
- # mkfile 1024m /filesys2/swapfile
- # swap -a /filesys2/swapfile
Then check the outcome with swap -l and swap -s.
In many cases I will add a swap file to a customer's system and remove the partition-based swap (swap -d) that they have. There is no appreciable difference in performance and the flexibility of moving swap can come in handy when a system has to accept a different workload with a minimum of downtime.

How to determine data size of updates on OS X

I'm on a limited monthly data allotment (satellite-based ISP). In order to effectively manage my data usage, I would like to know how big the updates are. I can access 'unlimited' data during certain off-peak periods. Is there a way to indicate the size of updates, easily?

But i think this is a general setting for all loads, which may not be desirable.

How to read the color of pixels on the desktop?

Hi All!
how is it possible to read the color of certain pixels on the screen? This is not withing any GUI or graphical java application. That is, the java program is supposed to be invisible to the user, run in the background and have access to the color information on the desktop. I have no idea if this possible at all and don't know how to search for it. With which functions/APIs is it possible?

as i was working on my website recently i noticed that i could not figure out how to change the automatic menu bar at the top of the screen. i would like to make the font smaller and closer together and even centered so i can put more pages on the same line without it looking silly. please help.

iweb2 navbar is rendered by javascript widget, therefore you can change navbar font style with javascript; this is an efficient way to change navbar font style.
Copy and paste the following into your pages using HTML Snippet:

Will there be a single table updated per transaction or multiple tables?
Will the transaction be of type insert mostly?
If it is going to be insert only, then probably you can estimate the database size based on size of row * 900 transactions per day... You need to consider if there will be other tables affected via triggers.
Also, the size of the indexes defined on these tables will contribute to the database size.
No idea as to what do you mean by 12,200 items.

In Safari, (the web browser), there are specific arrows to go back and forward through website pages.
In other Apps, it will depend on how the App is built.
As to Yahoo Mai it depends on where you are viewing the email. If you are using the Mail App, then you don't log out. The Mail accounts in the Mail App are always there.
If you are using the Yahoo App, You can Tap on the folder at the top, then on your account/name, and then on Sign Out.

Anyone know how to change the size of PDFs in the iBooks library?

I was wondering if there was a way to increase the size of the thumbnails for PDFs in the iBooks library on your iPad. It's hard to read them at this default size and just about every other app in creation (several of them modeled after OSX's own file folder display system) will allow you to zoom in on thumbnails or change the orientation so that they are grouped in a way that makes them easier to see. My kingdom for a slider-majigger at the bottom of the screen!
Anyway, does my request make sense? Also, am I missing something, or is that feature just not available?

You can adjust the time of each slide in the slideshow settings, which you'll find above the thumbnails of the slides when you open the photo album on the Apple TV.
Note, not all of the slideshow options have time settings.

IS there any way to determine which option packs have been installed on 10g oracle enterprise edition . i don't seem to have grid control installed ?

No orainventory directory found However, it's the best way to know what are the installed product against your ORACLE_HOME.
You can run the OUI and look for the installed components if any.
