How to determine the time duration of each job for a particular report

Hi guys,
I am facing a very interesting problem which I want to share with all of you-hoping to get some input from you
enlightened fellas :).
I have vendor and vendor sub-range maintained in one custom table. For each vendor I have got article site combination maintained in another table. The thing is I have to execute this program in background. Now for each vendor I may have only 1 article or multiple articles. So if I schedule the job for 60 min. say then for 1 article the time alloted will be too big and for multiple articles the time alloted may prove to be too small. Another thing from a functional point of view is a vendor which has 1 article today may have more articles added to his name tomorrow (if the customer likes his product the company may buy more from him). So the point is we have to dynamically adjust the time alloted for each job.
I could not find any utility in ABAP which can do this.
Can any of you please help me?

Exaactly-only I want to find the best time needed to finish for an article or multiple articles i.e I do not know how many articles will be available for each vendor beforehand before doing a select on the 2 tables. But once I know the number (maybe 1 or more than 1) I want to allot the best time for that article/lot of articles(maybe JOB_OPEN technique ?).Also the number of articles may vary over time so the algorithm should take care of that too.-quite a tricky prob :)-I would request the others to see this reply which I think will clarify their doubts.

How to deactivate the "left top corner SAP menu" for a particular screen

Hello Friends..
We have a requirement to implement a "Non Disclosure Agreement(NDA)" for one of our SAP systems. NDA screen will have 2 buttons, "I agree" and "I disagree" which pops up when you log in to the system(after filling up our user id and password and hit enter). If we click on "I agree", it will allow you to continue with the log in and takes you to sap easy access screen. If we click on "I disagree", then session will be terminated.
But, the NDA window which is being popped up is also a SAP screen which has SAP menu on top left corner. Without clicking on "I agree" or "I disagree" and if we try to select "Create session" option in SAP menu on top left corner, then it is taking us inside SAP(sap easy access screen) by bypassing the buttons.
Request your help on how to deactivate the "left top corner SAP menu" for this particular NDA screen. (SAP menu to be available with other screens and it should not be available just for the window which is being popped up after log in and before SAP easy access)

Hi Vinay,
Try this if it works -
in your first screen for the NDA screen, on the memnu bar select - EXTRAS - SETTINGS - Select the check box 'Do not display menu, only display favourites'.
on calling the next screen , disable this option in the PBO of the screen.

How to calculate the time duration on a datetime column?

Hi guys,
I've done some search on this forum and everywhere else but I can't seem to get this right, at the beggining it sounded like something very simple to accomplish, for the instance with Excel but I'm struggling to get it to work with Crystal Reports on Microsoft Visual Studio 2008.
I have a datetime column (SQL Server 2000) that I wanted to calculate the the time duration on the report group footer, unfortunatelly the built-in SUM function cannot be applied and I've tried several formulas that I've found on the internet without any luck. I'm using a datetime column to store only the time because I'm stuck with SQL Server 2000 which doesn't have a time data type.
Would you guys know how to do it by any chance?

Guess what, by further testing the code on the website mentioned above I got it working.
Pus, I needed to change the grouping on the code, so I had to come up with a way to update the formulas based on the groupping field.
Considering "call_date" is the field that you are groupping by on the designer use the following code to update the formula:

How to set the time difference between each data when sweeping voltage using keithley 2400

Hello friends,
I am using the sweep vi from Keithley in the SWEEP and Acquire measurement vi.I want to measure the voltage for every step and insert a delay in between every two data, so I need some delay between each I step.
I am a starter to use Labview, thanks so much for your answers.

As Dennis said, if you're using the built-in sweep function, you'll have to check the manual. See Section 10-16 (That's section 10 page 16, not sections 10 though 16) of the Keithley 2400 User Manual.
The Keithley 24xx series has a measurement speed in units called PLC (Power Line Cycles). The default speed is 1PLC, meaning a measurement is taken every 1 power line cycle, or 1/60th of a second (16.67ms). 24XX's can go from 0.01 PLC (every 0.16ms) to 10 PLC (every 166.6ms). The faster you measure, the lower precision you get.
To set this value programmatically, the command is
ENSe:CURRent:NPLCycles <n>
ENSe:VOLTage:NPLCycles <n>
depending on what you're sensing and where <n> is the number of PLCs from 0.01 to 10.
Another factor that will determine the time between data points is the SDM cycle. These are more complicated, look at your Keithley user manual for more information. Look at Section 6 and Section 11 for more info.
Note:
PLC times are based on a US cycle of 60Hz.

Is there a way for me to determine what the time building block type is in hxc_time_building_blocks? I need to query the table and only select entries that are absence related (Vacation, Holiday, Sick Leave). How to measure the time a pulse is high for?

I am using Pulse measure.vi to measure the output of a comparator. My comparator output feeds to an LED. The duty cycle is 50% so the LED just flashes on and off. I want to measure the time the output is high ('ON time') and I have been getting this by just multiplying the pulse width measure by the no. of pulses but I want to modify it to measure the 'ON time' of random signals with different duty cycles...
The aim is that I am taking in a signal and need the LED to turn on when the signal 'ON time' reaches a certain specified time.
But before I continue with the LED I am wondering how to add up the time the signal is high for?

You should be able to use one of the shipping examples to do what you need, please open LabVIEW and go to Help >> Find Examples.
From the Example Finder please go to Hardware Input and Output >> DAQmx >> Counter Measurements >> Period or Pulse Width >> Meas Buffered Semi-Period-Continuous.vi
You will then need to deinterleave the output array as it will show high time then low time then high time then ...
You will need to confirm the order these values appear and then you can use a function from the arrays palette and use the function "Decimate 1D Array"

I have a requirement to develop a Z-report depending on the o/p of the tcode CS15.
The result should be same as that of the CS15 with the a few additions:
(1)Providing option to accept multiple Materilal Numbers
(2)Filtering out the selection criteria on the fileds MRP Controller, Profit Center and etc.,
my queries are:
(1)In the Standard report, I was getting the fields Required Quantity and Result Quantity in the output. Whereas for me
    I was using a fm 'CS_WHERE_USED_MAT' to fetch the BOM items but whereas in the return parameter (STPOV) does not
   contain these fields(Result Quan and Reqd. Quan).
(2)I have to show the Material Type in the output. But when I fetch the records from the above FM, I was getting the Component
    details but not the Materials. - the user wants the Material Type to be shown for each record.
Kindly provide me inputs on the above queries.

In case of quantities you will not get it directly . filrtering the material type is really easy comparing the result with MARA-MTART.

How to determine the system color and set them for my app?

I'd like to set the colors of my application to the system's colors. Especially the backgrounds of my JPanels, JButtons and so on should look like in the operating system. If you change the systems color scheme, my application looks really wierd with it's grey canvas an components and the border and menu of the window is displayed in the system's colors.

koemActually, the truth is quite the opposite, the UIManager only has control over swing components.
There are many ways you can set these globally. You can sublcass your own look and feel, use the system look and feel, call UIDefaults.put() etc.

Administrators can set application defaults. When the users settings are set to Use Application Default, the setting will be what the administrator has specified.

How can determine the duration of an audio file

i'm making speech recognition project using java. i can capture sound by michrophone and playback it. the type of the sound is .wav.
my question is how to determine the recording duration (for example: determine the duration for 0.25 second) because i must recorded syllable,the assumtion is needed less than 0.5 second to say a word. and then.. can this wav file be changed into... binary or integer ?

I have read wav file using an AudioInputStream, for audio format I'm using sampleRate = 8000.0F and sampleSizeInBits = 8. My friend said if I used 8 bit for sampleSizeInBit (resolution in amplitude) the binary file should be -128 till 127 in range according to the bit. I try this code and the result is binary file which is zero, positive, and negative.

Yes, each slide's duration it tied to the audio or silence that is associated with it. Open the audio editor and you can either remove audio/silence or add silence to it. Audio can also be recorded here, but it is better done through the record audio dialog as it will provide the ability to have a script for it, from the notes section of PPT for that slide.
I believe that with Presenter 8+, the slides have a minimum display time of 1 second.

We have big troubles with our ConnectionPool. We have adapted most parts from the Book "Professional Java Server Programming" (Wrox Press).
However, the connections are invalid (I/O Exceptions like "End of TNS Data Channel" or "Broken Pipe") after a while.
The average up-time of our pool is approximately 24 hours.
Now we want to drop renew the connections after a certain amount of time (let�s say 1 hour). To do this, we would need to determine the time when the connection has been established. How can this be done?
I have looked into the DatabaseMetaData class, but did not find anything (at the first glance).
PLEASE help me / us, the problem is really severe!

PLEASE help me / us, the problem is really severe!Where did you get the pool from? Is it your code? If so then are you sending a keep alive query - which would keep the connection active?
If it isn't your code then are you explicitly returning the connections to the pool?
Commercial pools don't typically drop connections. Some do which can be discovered by examining the configuration options for the pool that you have.
If it is your code and you just want to add this, then you add a time value to each connection node. Each time a node is returned you set the time. You have a thread that runs and checks the time value, dropping any that are older than the value you want.
