How to determine the type of an existing iView

Hi,
While creating an iView using wizard there is a big list of type of iViews. But after creation of iView, how do I determine the type of iView. Which attribute or property of iView holds this information?
-Lave Kulshreshtha

You can copy and paste the existing Iview changing the name and ID if u want to replicate the same.
Also, when you create a new iView from a template, you get a list of them e.g SAP BSP iView etc.
Now what you see in the code link is much similar to what you see as a list of templates when u create iViews. So its pretty simple.
I hope this helped you.

• How to determine the type of the jobject... similar to instanceof

hi,
I would like to know how to determine the jobject reference of an instance is of which class.
this is something similar to instanceof we use in java.
is there any thing like 'instanceof' in JNI. if there how to use it?
i got this as objective question for which answers were(i do not remember exactly)
1.instanceof
2.assignedto
i could nt het much help in googling.
thanks in advance

Hi
The JNI provides a native version to the java instanceof operator, this function takes two arguments
an object refrence and a class refrence and reports JNI_TRUE.
jclass myclass = env->FindClass("your class name");
if(env->IsInstanceOf(obj,myclass) == JNI_TRUE)
// obj is of type myclass
}Regards

• How to determine the types of interactive form fields

Hello:
I have written a utility that traverses through the objects in a PDF file, and finds the ones of Type "Annot", Subtype "Widget". I need to go one step down the hierarchy and determine which kind of widget (text, radio button, check mark, press button) is the one under scrutiny.
I have looked at the innards of PDF files, and found that the widgets of type "text" are internally identified by the FT=Tx dictionary entry. So far, so good.
Here is where the beauty and consistency stops. It turns out that all the other (non-text) types are ambiguously identified by FT=Btn dictionary entry.
So: Every field which is not text, is a button.
Where should I look?
TIA,
-RFH

Digging a little deeper, I found that the 4 types of fields (as generated by default) have different keys, as follows:
Text: [F, FT, MK, P, Rect, Subtype, T, Type]
Check Box: [AP, AS, F, FT, MK, P, Rect, Subtype, T, Type]
Radio Button: [AP, AS, BS, F, FT, Ff, MK, P, Rect, Subtype, T, Type]
Button: [AP, DA, F, FT, Ff, MK, P, Rect, Subtype, T, Type]
Is that the correct approach to determine the kind of fields, by querying for the keys, which somehow instantiate a fingerprint?
TIA,
-RFH

• How can I determine the type of video out connector I need?

Howdy,
I have a white macbook purchased Jun/2008. I want to connect to a TV but don't know what adapter I need. How can I determine the type of video out jack my macbook has?
System Profiler says the model identifier is "MacBook 4,1". Under Graphics/Displays the only thing it says about the "Display Connector" is that no display is connected. Too bad it doesn't tell me what type of connector it is. If I knew the name of the connector I'd probably be home free. But it seems like every macbook model has a different video connector (since the state of the art has advanced over the years) and I haven't been able to keep up with the names.
Now, I have a 6" long adapter that will convert this connector to VGA. And searching the Apple store for VGA adapters, the existence of mine says my connector is might be one of "Mini DisplayPort", "Apple Mini DVI", "Apple DVI", or "Apple Micro-DVI". But then there is also the connector at
http://store.apple.com/us/product/M8639G/A?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY
and that looks like the one I have. But unlike the other adapters, this one is just called a "VGA Display Adapter". Does the connector have a name? How can I find adapters that have that same connector?
I know I could use the adapter I have, plus a VGA to VGA cable, to hook up to a TV. But the quality of the VGA signal is poor in the digital world. My goal is to hook up to the TV via HDMI. Is this even possible? By which I mean, will my macbook generate the signals necessary to be able to be converted to HDMI?
Thanks for any help,
Zebulon T

Thanks, Ded,
You're right, the cable that I have won't work. I't from my previous, 2004 iBook. This is pretty embarrassing... I looked at the cable but didn't bother to try plugging it in.
Looking at the close-up picture of the Mini-DVI to VGA adapter, that does look like the right connector. So I have Mini-DVI, and the other apter you pointed to can convert this to DVI. I'll take a look to see what makes the most sense, connector wise, downstream from that.
Thanks very much.

• EEWB : how to determine the business object and the extension type ?

Hi,
I ask myself how to determine the business object and the extension type to use to add new fields in a new tab of a specific transaction ? what means each business object, does that correspond to a specific transaction ?
I need to add a new tab in the ‘BaMI’ business activity in transaction CRMD_ORDER just after the tab 'Actions' at header level.
Could you help me please to determine which business object and extension type I have to select during creation of the project and which business object category I have to select during creation of the extension (wizard) ?
Thanks for your help,
Marie

Marie,
In order to determine what type of transaction you are extending, you will need to look at the customizing for the transaction.
In the IMG:
Goto:
Customer Relationship Management->Transactions->Basic Settings->Define Transaction Types.
You will then choose the transaction defined that you want to extend. If you display the details of the transaction you will find an attribute called:
"Leading Transaction Category". This tells you the general context in which the transaction is used. The other item to view is the assignment of business transaction categories found in the maintenance screen.
This information general corresponds to one of the options that the EEWB will give you on the transaction type.
As far as extensions go, my recommendation is the following:
- Use CUSTOMER_H Customer Header Extensions for any new fields at the header level.
- Use CUSTOMER_I Customer Item Extensions for any new fields at the item level.
Unless you have a specific requirement to extend a segment of the transaction, I recommend placing all new fields in these segments. The CUSTOMER_H & CUSTOMER_I segments are considered "standard" segments, that are already built into all the necessary API structures.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Good luck,
Stephen

• Tablespace allocation type system how oracle determines the extent size

HI
It may be silly question but the I have to ask and get some knowdge
Suppose tablespace allocation_type is system then how oracle determins the inital extent and max extent size?

Was this tablespace converted to locally managed from an existing tablespace? If so, the existing extents still exist after the conversion. Also depending on the Oracle version and maybe platform the pct_increase parameter is still honored after the conversion which can lead to odd sizes. The current value of this parameter may not be the value that was in effect when extents were allocated.
Also Oracle enhanced the logic to not leave odd sized extents unused so that if by rights the system should take a 64K extent but there is a 56K extent available (perhaps at the end of a file) it can be used to fill the extent request.

• How to determine IE type(32 bit or 64 bit) in a task sequence while updating Java

How to determine IE type(32 bit or 64 bit) in a task sequence
Hi,
Currently i have to update new version of Java after removing all the previous existing version of Java by using TS in SCCM 2007.
we have both 32 bit and 64 bit browser in the environment. I am stucked in determining whether the browser is of 32 bit or 64 bit.
How to determine IE type(32 bit or 64 bit) in a task sequence so that respective java can be installed for that IE browser.
will highly appreciate quick response.
Thanks in advance.
Daya

But you also need to install JRE x86 on x64 systems, since most people actually use the 32bit browsers on x64 systems.
The detection logic is actually pretty simple -- just check the right registry hive to find the installation location of the BIN\JAVA.DLL. Both pathnames are stored in HKLM\Software\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment\1.7 in the registry value "JavaHome",
but the x86 path is stored in the 32-bit hive and the x64 path is stored in the 64-bit hive.

• How to determine the field size

I am going to make a multiplatform application that hopefully
will run on linux and windows 2000.If the os is 2000, then I will use
vb.net/aspx else I'll use java servlets. I make the connection
to the web server ( through HTTP) not directly to database server.
So, the resultset will be stored in the String object. The columns
will be separated by delimeter. Our problem is how to determine
the size and type of the fields of mssql,oracle and postgres database
so that we can include it in the String object.
Ex.
String sResultSet=new String();
ResultSet rs=statement.executeQuery(sSQL);
while(rs.next()){
sResultset=sResultSet + rs.getString(field1) + "||" + rs.getString(field2) + "||";
vertical bars acts as delimeter
supposedly this is the code:
sResultset=sResultSet + rs.getString(field1) +"_" + rs.getFieldType() + "_"+
rs.getFieldSize() + "||" + rs.getString(field2) +"_" + rs.getFieldType() + "_"+
rs.getFieldSize() + "||";
supposedly this is the code if rs.getFieldType() and rs.getFieldSize() methods are existing
Anyone can give me an idea how to get the field type and field size of the database?
thanks in advance

Yes, but I dont know how to do it.
Can you give me an example of using it.
Thanks in advance

• How to determine the solution's ID in absl?

Hello Community,
I have a simple question yet I fear there is no simple answer (possibly no answer at all).
The question is:
Does any body know ways how to determine the ID (e.g. Y123ABCDY_) of the solution the code is running in?
My use case is the following:
We have a solution template which will be deployed in different customer tenant.
Thus, each deployment will have a different solution ID.
Now, somewhere in code, we generat PDFs using the OutputManagementUtilities.GetPDF reuse library.
This method requires the form template code of the pdf to be generated as a parameter.
However, this PDF form template code is composed of the solution ID and a fixed suffix.
Thus, currently I need to modify the absl code in each customer installation to manually modify the form template code prefix to the solutions solution ID.
Therefore I'd like to construct the form template code in absl but for this I need a way to determine the solution's ID.
Any ideas?
Best regards,
Ludger

Hi Fernando.
After reading your post I initially thought "what is the ObjectTypeCode" supposed to do any good to determine the solution ID"?
Using the Object Type code of a custom bo is indeed a way to solve this problem.
With a little additional code I can extract the relevant solution ID part from there.
Thanks for the hint, that was really useful.

• How to get the type of answer in a workitem?

Hi Experts,
I am building a report to get the users responsible for the approval of SCs and POs, in this report I need to get the type of answer given by the approver, if they have rejected, approved or partial rejected / approved the object.
When I look at the container of the workitem I can get the agent responsible for the action and the dates, but I need your help to determine the type of answer. I believe I can get this information from the approval state, no? But I am getting a lot of different approval states: 0, 1, 3, 4, 10, 11 and 15. Can you provide me some guidance? I am new to workflows and I am stuck in this point.
I am using SRM 5.0 and n-step approval workflow.
Thanks in advance,
Francisco

I'm not an SRM expert, but from a pure workflow point you can read the output of a workitem. So, check how your workflow is built and then see what values are returned in the corresponding return fields. Explore the workitem structure in the log.

• How to determine itab type at run time

I need to write a subroutine that organizes data in internal tables for presentation by a smartform. There are a few similarly structured internal tables all with the same field name ("recipe_type") by which the data is sorted. My problem is that how I can determine the type of the itab inside my subroutine at run time? Is it ever possible in ABAP?
The subroutine code is attached below. Thanks for any help.
FORM beautify_itab TABLES itab_in TYPE table
USING v_type TYPE any
CHANGING itab_out TYPE table.

v_blank_row LIKE LINE OF itab_in. " blank row
Organize the display of the table data
LOOP AT itab_in INTO v_data_row.
IF v_type <> itab_in-recipe_type. " 'recipe_type' is the sort key for the incoming itabs
v_type = itab_in-recipe_type.
IF sy-tabix > 1.
APPEND v_blank_row TO itab_out.
ENDIF.
APPEND v_data_row TO itab_out.

APPEND v_data_row TO itab_out.
ENDIF.
ENDLOOP.
ENDFORM.                    "beautify_itab

The following code does what I want, but only if the input itab structure is declared first in the program. It won't work if the itab is declared as itab_in TYPE TABLE OF sflight. This is because the function 'GET_COMPONENTS_LIST' only can load the structure of a field declared explicitly in the program. Does anybody know of any method to load the structure of an itab based off a dtab?
Thanks you guys for answers. Points have been rewarded.

• How to know the type of a variable??

how to know the type of a variable??
For example, give you a variable s, how to determine if it is
a primitive type, of an object?? If this is primitive type,
any ways to determine if it is integer, boolean, double, ...??

I am currently working on a project where this happens. I have a main type of object that all of my other types extend. While working on the objects in a method, any type of other object could be coming through. To test I try to cast the object and catch class cast exceptions. This only works because I know the different type that will be coming through....
public void testObject(classX object){
try{

• How to determine the IPS throughput using Cisco ASA 5500 IPS Solution?

Hello there!
I´ve been desinging a solution to protect de Server Farm and I intend to use the ASA 5500 series with AIP-SSM module. There´s any tool to determine the real throughput that I need? I mean, how to determine the performance (Firewall + IPS throughput), what main points I should consinder?

If the server farm is running production levels of traffic today you can get statistics off a variety of networking devices passing the existing traffic. Switches, routers and firewalls all count every byte of traffic they pass. There are plenty of tools that can gather this traffic into tables via SNMP too, such as MRTG.
Do not average your traffic over too great a time peroid, you will miss busy hour peaks. At most, use 5 min averages.

• How can determine the duration of an audio file

Hi,
i'm making speech recognition project using java. i can capture sound by michrophone and playback it. the type of the sound is .wav.
my question is how to determine the recording duration (for example: determine the duration for 0.25 second) because i must recorded syllable,the assumtion is needed less than 0.5 second to say a word. and then.. can this wav file be changed into... binary or integer ?
thanks for your help

FYI I'm newbie in Java,
Yes, I want to limit the audio file lengths to a certain value. What should I do?
I have read wav file using an AudioInputStream, for audio format I'm using sampleRate = 8000.0F and sampleSizeInBits = 8. My friend said if I used 8 bit for sampleSizeInBit (resolution in amplitude) the binary file should be -128 till 127 in range according to the bit. I try this code and the result is binary file which is zero, positive, and negative.
the code
try{
audioInputStream.read(audioBytes);
for (int i=0; i<audioBytes.length;i++){
System.out.println(audioBytes);
catch(IOException ioe){
System.out.println("Error"+ioe);
I'm not sure that the code is right, but it works. Should I change the audioBytes into integer before? I try this code but it doesn't work.
int a = new int[audioBytes.length];
for (int i=0;i<audioBytes.length;i++){
a[i] = new Byte(audioBytes[i]).intValue();
this binary file has been printed in console (I’m using texpad). So, how I can write that to file.txt? I'm using FileoutputStream but it doesn't work correctly. Here is the code
FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream(strFilePath);
{audioInputStream.read(audioBytes);
fos.write(audioBytes);
catch (IOException ioe){
System.out.println("Error"+ioe);
When I open file .txt is read as character like this üüüüüüüüüüüüûüüüûüûûû ||||||| ||||||| ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||| ےےےےےےےےےےےے (like using alt plus number)

Hi,
You can use the RTTS - Run Time Type Service.
Try the sample code
TYPES my_type TYPE i.
DATA: my_data   TYPE my_type,
descr_ref TYPE ref to cl_abap_typedescr.
START-OF-SELECTION.
descr_ref = cl_abap_typedescr=>describe_by_data( my_data ).
The hierarchy of RTTS classes are as follows,
CL_ABAP_TYPEDESCR
