  • Develope complex WebService with JDeveloper and deploy to tomcat

    Hello,
    I am thinking of developing a complex WebService with JDeveloper and deploy it to tomcat.
    The WebService should retrieve a few "normal" datatypes and a pdf and a few images. I try to store the pdf and the image in an Oracle DB as BLOB.
    My idea ist to create a Package which selects the values, pdf and the image and retrieve them as the output paramter.
    Then I want to create a WebService with the JDeveloper which calls this Package. This WebService should be published on a Tomcat.
    My first question is if that is possible?
    I think there are few problems.
    I searched the forum about deploying a JDeveloper WebService to Tomcat, but I can not find a whole solution which is going to work. I read something about JAX-RPC, but I am new to this topic. So it would be very nice, if anyone could tell me where I can find the solution or post a quick guide to solve that.
    Another question is how I have to decode the images and the pdf to provide those files in a WebService?
    I would be very glad if anyone can help me or tell me where I can find information about that, becaus I am new to this topic!
    Thank you,
    Tim

    Hi,
    does anybody have an idea about that?
    Thanks,

  • Developing Portable WebServices using Jdeveloper

    I am currently using Jdeveloper 10.1.3.2 and I have developed WebServices from my existing WSDL files and deployed the WebServices in OC4J. Everything is working fine now. I noticed that Jdeveloper has created some OC4J specific files like oracle-webservice.xml. Now I want this working WebService Application to be deployed to another Application Server. I am sure it would fail.
    My Question is,
    1) How can I devlop Web Services using Jdeveloper which can be deployed in any App Server?
    2) Will Jdev 11g with JAX-WS will be helpful?
    3) Is there any tutorial for developing portable webservices which can be deployed across any App Server.

    Hi Frank
    Thanks for your response.
    So If I remove my oracle-webservices.xml and deploy my Project, Will it work in any App Server.
    Also where can I put the contents in oracle-webservices.xml file like
    <oracle-webservices xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="http://xmlns.oracle.com/oracleas/schema/oracle-webservices-10_0.xsd">
    <webservice-description name="''''''''">
    <port-component name="''''''''">
    <operations>
    </operations>
    </port-component>
    </port-component>
    </webservice-description>
    </oracle-webservices>
    Thanks

  • How to develop a webservice with SAML on Weblogic 8.1

    I will develop some webservices on Weblogic 8.1. On the security part, we will

    product? And where I can find samples?
    Thanks.

    I will develop some webservices on Weblogic 8.1. On the security part,
    we will use SAML. Is there somebody who can tell me how to do it? Do I
    need third party product? And where I can find samples?Currently, we don't offer any support for SAML in WLS -- so you would
    have to use a third party product. Depending on how you want to use it,
    you may be able to use a third party product to create a handler for your
    service or client.
    However, if you want to use the handler in the server to set the subject
    for the invoke, the handler architecture will prevent you from doing
    this -- the API you use to set the user
    (weblogic.security.service.SecurityManager.runAs() -- see
    http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs81/javadocs/weblogic/security/service/SecurityManager.html)
    cannot be successfully used in handler methods. If you wish to do this,
    I'm afraid the only way we have to support this is to use a servlet filter.

  • How to call java webservice from plsql procedure.

    Hi,
    Could any one please provide any reference document for invoking a java webservice from pl/sql procedure.
    regards,
    Venkat

    Hi,
    There are basically various platforms where u develop the code with different patterns, though the idea is same everywhere.
    1. If you want develop a Java Client to call a WebService from NWDS then Pls refer >>
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/43/cb2e29578c0262e10000000a11466f/frameset.htm
    Note: By default the WebService developed under NWDS is Document Based WebService (i.e. In WSDL the style element would be 'document')
    2. If you want to call a WebService from the platform other than NWDS than, Sun's official site would be the best choice to go for.
    Pls refer >>
    http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/J2EE/j2ee_ws/#design
    Would appreciate if you reward the points if the answer is helpful.

  • How to test Siebel webservice in Jdeveloper that uses Authentication?

    Hi..
    I am testing siebel webservice in Jdeveloper 11.1.1.5 by right clicking on WSDL n using "Test webService".But it is giving 500:internal server error..I tried everything..basically i have to pass username password in authentication.I have tried "Authorization-basic" and also tried vis "SOAP Headers > :WS-Security:Header" but of no use.I also tried the above mentioned way.."security-role-assignment" in web.xml and weblogic.xml but that is also not working.The webservice is working fine on SOAPUI but not wroking on Jdeveloper.Is there anything that Iam missing in configuration part...or in HTTP analyzer?? Please help.
    Thanks!

    In transaction SICF  you could enter a (system) user for your webservices so that you won't require authentication. (However, you should check if this is a good and valid option in the context of your application.)
    In addition, you can provide your SAP credentials (username, password) within Adobe Flex itself. Read more about the "URLRequestHeader" function.

  • How to develop plSQL Packages using jDeveloper

    Working in one schema with multiple packages and having multiple programmers all working at the same time with in the schema and packages. How do you all work on maybe the same package at the same time and not walk on each other(save code over each other and lose updates)? In other words programmer A opens A_WEBFORMS.WF_HR.SICKVACREQ; then programmer B also opens A_WEBFORMS.WF_HR.NOTARY. Both are in same schema, same package, but different procedures with in package. Both update the package by using ctrl-s. This causes them both to lose code or just get mixed up when programmer A saves and the part that programmer B is working on changes.
    Help? Is it the way you setup the Oracle DB?, or is it the total environment?, or is it the way you use Jdeveloper????

    If you develop directly against the database into the same schema, you have the risk off bumping into somebody else. The more developers work on the same project the more the need to work with an external tool to develop your code (and tables, views, etc). In the past it would be Oracle Designer, recently JDeveloper is getting more and more suitable for the job.
    If you are using JDeveloper you should use offline database objects and put them under version control. During the development process, version control will offer the abillity to merge different versions of a single object the programmers are working on. When generating to the database you synchronize the database with your code in jdeveloper, when an other user generates his version over yours, at least you will not lose your version of the object, since you still have it as an offline database object. Anyway, let users generate to their own database schema, so they will not influence other users code. Certain revisions can then be generated from time to time to the actual database schema from the version controlled offline database objects.
    Just my two cents ...

  • How to development Java Enterprise?

    Hello Everybody!
    I'm VietHung Romano. I am newbie. I very love Java and I had a project about J2EE.
    I want ask to every Java Developer is if develop a project by J2EE then I must part of project is important to analyze and design. What tier is important?
    What of J2EE technology to I develop?
    What framework to I develop?
    Can I choose Strut or Spring? What is better?
    What server use? WebSphere or WebLogic? What server is better?
    I hope can discuss about J2EE Technology with people?
    Who want talking with me can contact to me via email: [email protected] or My Yahoo! ID: viethungnguyenduc

    Romano,
    If you are developing this J2EE for an existing organization (client) then, the specific frameworks and products used by the organization is driven by its technology stack. For example, my company uses IBM WebSphere, IBM DB2, Struts framework for building web applications. Recently, a strategic decision was taken to move from WebSphere to Tomcat server. In most cases the architects decide what technology is permissible in that organization.
    However, if you are just experimenting, then get hold of a good ide - NetBeans, Eclipse and they come with all the tools you need to run a local application. For example, both NetBeans and Eclipse has support for Struts, Tomcat, WebSphere etc.
    Hope I have answered your question.
    Thanks

  • Developing Java Applications for Windows CE

    Hello,
    I hope this sub forum is right. So I must develop a Java Application for Windows CE. I read something about J2ME, but I think this is only for Mobilephone and Windows CE supports AWT. So I tried just some simple forms with J2ME.
    Can anybody tell me how I develop java Applications for Windows CE? Can I use Eclipse or must I use another IDE?
    Realy I developed Swing 5-6 Month but I have no idea how I develop Java Applications for Windows CE.
    Thanks a lot for helping...

    The MIDP for Palm OS 1.0 requires Palm OS v3.5 or higher to run. According to your error message, the emulator is not running v3.5 or higher. Try to get hold of a ROM image with a later version. I've run it with v4.0 of the OS and it works.

  • How to convert Java code to Webservice and deploy in to JBOSS via JDEV11g

    Hi All,
    Greetings. I am trying to develop Java Web service from JDeveloper 11g which has 2 basic methods. I can able to develop the WS out of the Java through Jdev and can able to test the webservice with the help of "Test Web Service" menu option under .JPR.
    But when I am trying to deploy the WS.War file in to JBOSS app server (which is our project default server) from JDEV I couldn't able to get the option thought I have created the JBOSS server connection in Jdev. I can see only weblogic server connection under DEPLOY menu. Even if I edit the SOAP URL in WSDL to point JBOSS host and port and manually deploy the WAR in to JOBSS, it is not working, getting deployment error.
    Anyone please guide me how to edit the WDSL which should point my JBOSS server (http://localhost:8080) and how to deploy the WAR and access the webservice from my Browser. Step by step help will be really appreciated since I am new to WS. Make this WS work is very important and urgent task in our project. But no luck so far.
    Thanks in advance for each of you. Waiting for the position help.

    Hi Shay,
    Thanks for providing the blog URL which helped me to solve my first project. Now I have changed my WebServices deployment server from JDEV Default Apps server (Weblogic) to JBOSS. • How to use Delphi Client in Java WEBSERVICE

    I am building a Webservice Application. In client side I use Delphi to import WSDL from a Java Webservice Server ( literal WSDL ). By using WSDL Importer Control I successfully imported the WSDL file but when I called the impoted method the system returned an error :
    "Project sendEmail.exe raise exception class ERemotableException with message ' Unable to find a matching Operation for this remote invocation <SOAP-ENV: send xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"> </SOAP-ENV:send>.Please check your Operation Name.'
    I think when i call send method in Client side the request is sent to Webservice Server but in server side ( build in Java ) that method doesn't match with the original method ( although the method in client side is imported from Webservice Server )
    ( When I use Delphi client to invoke methods from Delphi Webservice Server ( with rpc WSDL ) the result is OK and Java client also sucessfully invoke that method from Java Webservice )
    Can you show me how i resolve this problem. Thanks

    Hi Robin,
    At some point, you can expect that the Web services frameworks will be implementing some of the plumbing related to WS-* for you. For example, you can rely on the framework to deal with WS-sec for you with the current Developer Preview of OC4J. For WS-Adressing specifically, you have to handle this in the application layer today, and there is very little the framework can do for you, other than converting the WS-Addressing SOAP header into some java object model for you. The business logic related to the use of the ws-addressing headers has to be implemented at the application level, with some handler. The same applies today for any JAX-RPC based Web services framework, including Axis. Now, if you are using some 'advance' framework like BPEL PM, they can do a lot of heavy lifting for you, under the cover.
    Hope this helps,
    Eric
