The Personal Assistant software should be designed to meet the following specifications:
When the application is executed, a menu with the following options should be displayed:
contact details
meetings
On selecting either of the proceeding options, a submenu with the following options should be displayed:
Add new record
Delete record
Edit record
Search record
The Contact details option would enable the user to add, edit, delete, and search the contact details of various people. The contact details include information such as name, address, phone number, and email address.
Similarly, the Meetings/appointment option enable the user to add, edit, delete, and search meetings/appointments details. The meetings/appointment details include information such as date of meeting/appointment, time, and location.
Note: The address book and the meetings/appointment details should be stored in files.
When the application is run, reminders for the meetings/appointments scheduled for current date should be displayed on the screen.

Depending on your expertise you would design the source files that will contain your data to use followed by writing code to read in the data into containers that are encapsulated into classes where the classes have properties and methods to work the data
in regards to display, edit, update, add and search/filter. The last bullet, display reminders would work off a trigger i.e. you call the code when the app opens or off a timer.
Since it appears you are excluding databases which would be best for working this project I would suggest looking at using xml file to store data. From looking at the requirements you will need a relationship model.
To give you code would almost be writing the app for you hence no code.

As you can see Erin, trying to recover information from a hosed drive can be very expensive.
I would suggest first the OWC site as well. You can get a new drive of choice in size there.

Wth your lap top and these folllowing tools your are set to change out the drive, reload OS and then with
the voyager pop in the old iMac drive and with the Prosoft software, try to mount and recover the files. Data Rescue is very good at this " if " the drive is not totally mechanically hosed. Drive Genius is very good at a number of things too. Nothing replaces the old adage of Back Up Back up Back up.
The voyage I listed can become the new backup drive for you.. your choice of tools: Time Machine or by cloning via CarbonCopyCloner or by what I use SuperDuper! IF you want to be really kewl.. both. By that I mean cloning and Time Machine.
It will take you an hour to swap out the drive and spring clean the iMac.. there is a hundred how too,s on you tube.
Hope this helps. Remember if is always when a drive will fail..they all do. I tell the people I support that Harddrives are good for 15 min.. to when they don't work. They will all fail.
Apple Geniuses are very limited to what they can and will do as far as file recovery.
Your best bet is to try to do it your self first. There is lots of help out here and you are not the first.

Assuming you are running OS X 10.6.6 or later (10.7.x Lion, 10.8.x Mountain Lion or 10.9.x Mavericks), go to the Apple Menu (top left-hand corner of the screen)>App Store and it should become clear from there.

Are you launching Pages from an icon in your Dock? Installing the update does not change the Dock icons & it does not remove the older versions. Go to your Applications folder & launch the new Pages from there.

I would do a restore using iTunes. This will re-install the latest iOS 6 with factory settings, then you'll have to re-enter your settings and re-install your apps. But everything should work after that.

Note that, as it says in those articles:
iTunes Store purchases or songs imported from CDs are saved in your My Music folder by default and are not deleted by removing iTunes. While it is highly unlikely that you will lose any contents of your iTunes Library when following these steps, it is always a good idea to ensure that your iTunes library is backed up. There is a great application what can do it all for you. Remember - everytime you do a change on a page in iWeb, and you publish the site, your custom Meta Tags get deleted!
The application is called iMap. It costs only few dollars (I think like $8 or 10) and works for me.

The crossdomain security policy stuff is annoying, but it's there to prevent this sort of scenario:

This is facetious and contrived, but without crossdomain security policies, the internet would be a much more dangerous place. JavaScript has even more restrictive crossdomain policies. I don't think this is going away.

Software that will make the Platinum 5.1 card work on Windows XP computer

I've had Soundblaster Li've! 5. Platinum card in my Windows 98 computer since 200 and it works fine. I recently bought a computer from an auction which has Window XP Professional Service Pack 3 installed. I would like to unplug the sound card from my Windows 98 computer and plug it into my Windows xp computer since I really would like to stop using Windows 98 since the Windows xp computer that I now have is much better.
Since posts on your forum indicate that the installation CD of this sound card does not work with Windows XP, I am wondering whether I can download software that will make the Platinum 5. card work on my Windows xp computer.

LabVIEW 5.0 is not officially supported on Windows XP, as it was released before XP was released. However, it will most likely work, other than a "Wrong OS" message that you may recieve during installation. I have successfully installed LabVIEW 5.0 on my XP machine and not run into any trouble. You can change the settings in Security & Privacy to "Anywhere"...
That should work... as to whether the printer driver will work, that's another question.
