In JDK1.1.8 and above (if I am not mistaken) you can use the method: setResizable(false);
So yourframe.setResizable(false);
However in applets in the standard webbrowsers this won't work. (Netscape 4.7x, IE). As they use an older JDK version (lower than 1.1.8).

this.access = "readOnly";
To make it hidden or invisible try the below script.
this.presence = "invisible";

Hi Neel,
You could set the conditional display of the button based on a Plsql function returning a boolean.
Something along the lines of:
IF :P1_ITEM = 'Some Value' THEN
RETURN TRUE;
ELSE
RETURN FALSE;
END IF;
This will not display the button at all unless the P1_ITEM is equal to the value that you want.
This is the simplest form that will get you going. If you want to "grey out" the button to leave it visible but disabled then you would need to investigate this a little further. I have seen some other threads that would probably help you out here but am no exert on javascript so just have a poke around.

I was trying to disable a button when the value of a select list item in the same page is equal to zero. Following are the steps which I did.
1) Created a new button template as <table class="t9StandardButton" id="#BUTTON_ID#" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0" summary="">
2) Changed the existing button template to the newly created button template.
3) Added onchange="javascript:fdisplay(this);" to form element value of select list
4) Added the following java script in the page header

function fdisplay(some) {
if (some.value==0){
html_GetElement ('#BUTTON_ID#').disabled = true;
else
html_GetElement ('#BUTTON_ID#').disabled = false;
</script>
But the script doesn't work. Is there anything I am missing here. Please advice.

In the 'Button Attributes' field of the button enter 'id='thisButton'.
Modify the button template to include the substitution string #BUTTON_ATTRIBUTES# . This should be put in the anchor tag in the template defintion.
Modify your Javascript to reference the above id as
html_GetElement ('thisButton').disabled = true;

Instead of adding button in the column header , in the column
add a fixed top cell.
    right click on the column
    Insert FixedTopCell
    Right click on the fixedTopCell
    insert Editor.
   select button.
then button will be only in the top most row.

Locate the Toolbar group group for that application. It should be ACC_OIC01 in your case. You can deactivate a specific button (event) under the toolbar group.

I need to do a similar thing. Along with a couple other things.
I was able to control some windows thru a unix window manager like I would for Motif (the use the window name of AWTapp or AWTdialog are recognized when doing xwininfo) That is all I can seem to get. Nothing changes this.
Does anyone know how?
Anyway. mwmDecorations and mwmFunctions settings appear to allow setting of some of the windows. But I need control 100%of the time.
I need to disable the CLOSE button in all java windows or find a way that the window manager event can get back to the java application. Currently it is not recognized.
In some windows I need other items disabled such as SIZE & MAXIMIZE.

OK figured it out. This is for the next person seeking the same solution.
When you click on the Java Control Panel (found in the Control panel) in any version of Windows, it first looks for a System Wide Java Configuration (found here: C:\Windows\Sun\Java\Deployment). At this point you must be wondering why you don't have this folder (C:\Windows\Sun\Java\Deployment) or why its empty. Well, for an enterprise environment, you have to create it and place something in it - it doesn't exist by default. So you'll need a script (I used Autoit) to create the directory structure and place the the two files into it. The two files are "deployment.properties" and "deployment.config".
Example: When you click on the Java Control Panel it first checks to see if this directory exists (C:\Windows\Sun\Java\Deployment) and then checks if there is a "deployment.config". If there is one it opens it and reads it. If it doesn't exist, Java creates user settings found here C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment on Windows 7.

If you look in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment on Windows 7 for example you will find "deployment.properties". You can use this as your default example and add your settings to it.

Maybe you want to disable Java update (which is a big problem for enterprises)

Below is a basic AutoIt script you could use (It compiles the files into the executable. When you compile the script the two Java files must be in the directory you specify in the FileInstall line, which can be anything you choose. It will also create your directory structure):

You can not use the Windows registry to disable items in Firefox. This link shows how to lock down Firefox proxy settings, change the values to suit your needs:

One minor variation, in step 4 instead of adding that line to all-js, you can create a file called ''local-settings.js'' containing the line shown and save the file in the same folder as all.js

You can disable or remove that button, but that won't prevent users from making the changes on the about:config page directly.<br />
You can lock the related network.proxy prefs if you do not want users to change the connection settings.
